- a return means 21 such as a spring ensures the return of the finger 18 in its position in which it projects from the lateral edge 14 of the central panel 12 so that without action by the operator, the locking means systematically blocks, in the closing position of the barrier, the opening thereof.
- the Figure 6 shows a perspective view of the rigid body 22 of plastic in which is formed the housing 20 for receiving the finger 18 of the locking means.
- This body 22 comprises on the one hand first orifices 23 for the passage of the fastener rod and secondly, a second orifice 24 for the passage of the finger 18, said second orifice 24 being in communication with the housing 20.
- This body 22 also has a slot 25 coinciding with the slot 17 of the lateral upright 13 on which it is mounted to ensure the passage of the hinge member 16 during its movement.
- the upper part of this body is also rounded to facilitate the passage of the upper cross member of the central panel 12 during the displacement in translation of the central panel from its lowered position to its raised position relative to the lateral uprights 13.
- This body 22 is intended for to be mounted in a recess made in the corresponding side post 13 ( Figures 3 and 5 ).
- the barrier comprises a manual control device which is here a button 26 movable along a guide rail, or a slider, the button 26 being secured to said finger 18 .
- this button 26 the operator can manually move the finger 18 between its two extreme positions so that it fades at least partially to release the hinge member 16 in the closed position of the barrier.
- the hinge member 16 is thus free to rotate, the operator can then move freely in translation the central panel 12 from its closed position to its open position.
- the operator has no obligation to maintain the button 26 during the entire displacement of the central panel 12 to arrive at the opening of the barrier.
- the finger 18 being integral with the upper cross member of the central panel, it is sufficient that it has been brought above the housing 20 mounted on the lateral upright 13.
- FIGS 8 to 11 show a safety barrier according to another embodiment of the present invention.
- References on Figures 8 to 11 identical to those of Figures 3 to 7 represent the same objects, which will not be described again below.
- the barrier shown on Figures 8 to 11 differs from that shown in the Figures 3 to 7 in that the finger 18 of the locking means of the articulation element 16 is connected to a button 27 moving in a guide rail 28 placed in the upper part of a body 29 having two lateral wings 30, 31 of so that it has a U-shaped section.
- This body 29 thus covers the upper cross member 12 being received in a recess 32 formed therein so that once the body 29 mounted on the cross, the surface the outer surface of each body flange 30, 31 is placed at or substantially level with the outer surface of the upper cross member 12 thus forming a continuous or substantially continuous surface.
- pivot axis 33 of the hinge member 16 which is also a tongue here, is coincident with the main axes of the orifices 34, 35 of the body 29 and the upper cross member 12 ensuring the passage of the rod the fixing member of the body 29 with its housing 32 on the upper crosspiece 12.
- Each side upright 13 also has in its lower part and on its inner edge to the barrier, a recess 36 intended to allow the movement of the lower cross member 37 during the passage of the central panel 12 between its lowered position and its raised position. In this latter position, the ends of the lower cross member 37 abut against these notches 36 to stop the displacement of the central panel 12.
- the barrier still has on each of its lateral uprights 13, two support elements 38 consisting of a threaded rod carrying at its free end a support surface of the disc type, intended to ensure the support of the barrier with the structure delimiting the passage to be barred.
Description
The present invention relates to a safety barrier, including a child safety barrier.
These barriers may comprise, for illustrative purposes, two lateral uprights fixed to the frame of a door or a staircase and a flap pivotally mounted on one of these lateral uprights. A lock ensures the maintenance in the closed position of the barrier. This wing has the advantage of being easily maneuverable.
However, this type of barrier usually requires climbing over a ground-level tie, which serves to connect the various components of the barrier. There is therefore a risk of falling for the child that can be serious when the barrier is disposed for example in the upper part of a staircase.
In addition, the installation of these barriers being long and complex, they are typically posed stationary and therefore do not lend themselves to monitoring a momentary movement of the child from one room to another in the house.
Safety barriers are still known for rapid installation and removal. These barriers have the advantage that they can be raised in their and easily moved by an operator to free access to a passage.
The obstruction panel 1 is connected to each of these
Although this safety barrier is easy to maneuver, light and robust, it can be further improved in terms of safety.
Notably, it became apparent that children could learn to operate the barrier by watching the adults maneuver it in front of them.
It is therefore necessary to complicate the mechanism of unlocking the barrier to ensure that a child can not open the barrier alone while maintaining the ease of use of the present barrier which makes it its main attraction.
In particular, this barrier must be able to be maneuvered with one hand by an adult.
This barrier must also be able to be laid quickly to temporarily block a passage and therefore, do not require drilling for its installation that would damage the structural elements defining the passage to bar.
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a removable safety barrier, simple in its design and its operating mode, responding to the problems of the prior art described above.
According to the invention, this barrier comprises
- means for blocking the displacement of at least one of said hinge members so as to prevent translational displacement of said central panel with respect to said lateral uprights when said barrier is in its closed position, and
- a manual control device for unlocking said locking means to allow said displacement in translation of said central panel and thus allow the opening of said barrier.
Each of the lateral edges of the central panel is advantageously parallel to the inner edge of the lateral upright with which it is intended to come closer and to be plated in the open position of the barrier.
The term "inner edge of the lateral upright", the portion of the lateral amount which is intended to be placed next to the central panel of this barrier. This security barrier is advantageously made of wood but could also be metal or plastic.
Preferably, the central panel is connected to each of these two lateral uprights by at least two hinge elements forming with the lateral edge of the central panel and the corresponding upright a deformable parallelogram making it possible to pass the barrier between a first position known as blocking wherein said central panel being in a lowered position, the outer edges of the lateral uprights or the free ends of bearing elements projecting from these outer edges and whose longitudinal dimension is variable, are pressed against the structure or structures delimiting the passage to fix in position said barrier and a second position called unblocking where said central panel being in a raised position relative to the lateral uprights, this barrier is then no longer integral with these structures.
These articulation elements are advantageously in one piece.
The plane of rotation of these articulation elements coincides with the plane containing the central panel.
- said blocking means comprises:

- * A housing placed on respectively said side upright or on said side edge of the central panel, said housing being intended to receive the said finger in order to lock the translational movement of said central panel relative to said side upright,
- said manual control device comprises a slider, a button or a handle.
- said hinge members are selected from the group consisting of a tongue, a link, a plate and a combination of these elements,
- the barrier comprises at least one protective element to prevent any pinching, for example, of a finger,
- the central panel is full or openwork.
- the central panel is of variable length.
The invention also relates to a method of opening a barrier placed in a passage so as to block access to it, this barrier comprising a central panel, two lateral uprights supporting this central panel, the central panel having lateral edges and being connected to each of said lateral uprights pivotally by hinge members so that translational movement of said center panel with respect to these side uprights causes the lateral edges of the central panel to be moved closer to or away from the lateral uprights causing respectively opening or closing the barrier.
- said barrier being in the closed position and the displacement of at least one of said hinge elements being blocked by a locking means solidarisant said central panel to the lateral upright supporting at least a portion of said hinge member, it unlocks this locking means by operating a manual control device,
- while keeping said manual control device actuated so as to allow the displacement of said at least one hinge member, said central panel is moved in translation with respect to said lateral uprights so as to bring said lateral uprights closer to the lateral edges of said central panel and thus ensure the opening of said barrier.
- laterally displacing said barrier after opening thereof to bring one of the lateral uprights of the corresponding structure delimiting the passage and thus move the support elements away from the other upright lateral of said stops so as to clear the barrier of these stops and thus release the passage whose access is blocked by said barrier.
The free ends of these support elements protrude from the outer edges of the lateral uprights of the barrier. These support elements which advantageously have a variable longitudinal dimension, have their free end which is intended to be pressed against the structure or structures defining the passage to ensure the contact of the barrier with this or these structures.

This barrier comprises a
The barrier also comprises two
The
Each
Each support element is received at one of its ends in a
This
A first part of each
With regard to the upper part of the
It should be noted that when the
However, and to make the operation of this barrier even safer while retaining its simplicity of use, it also comprises a means of blocking the displacement of one of the
This locking means which is here mounted in the upper part of the barrier comprises firstly a
The
A return means 21 such as a spring ensures the return of the
Thus, by acting on this
- 1) actuating the
manual control device 26 to release thehinge member 16 blocked by the blocking means, - 2) maintaining the support on the
button 26 to counter the return force of thespring 21 and thus ensure the retention of thefinger 18 in its retracted position, and the simultaneous lifting of thecentral panel 12 to ensure its displacement in translation relative to thelateral uprights 13.
In addition, the pivot axis 33 of the
Each side upright 13 also has in its lower part and on its inner edge to the barrier, a
The barrier still has on each of its
