Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a safety barrier, including a child safety barrier. Safety barriers are known to prevent children from reaching dangerous areas such as stairs, the garage, the bathroom, etc. These barriers may include, for illustrative purposes, two lateral uprights. fixed to the frame of a door or a staircase and a flap pivotally mounted on one of these lateral uprights. A lock ensures the maintenance in the closed position of the barrier. This leaf has the advantage of being easily manoeuvrable. However, this type of barrier usually requires climbing over a ground-level tie, which serves to connect the various components of the barrier. There is therefore a risk of falling for the child which can be serious when this barrier is arranged for example in the upper part of a staircase. In addition, the installation of these barriers being long and complex, they are typically posed stationary and therefore do not lend themselves to monitoring a momentary movement of the child from one room to another in the house. Safety barriers are still known for rapid installation and removal. These barriers have the advantage of being lifted in their entirety and easily moved by an operator to free access to a passage. However, these barriers have the major disadvantage of having connecting members between the various components of the barrier resulting from the assembly of several complex parts cooperating with each other to allow the raising of the barrier. Not only the time of manufacture of a barrier equipped with these connecting members is long, but the maintenance of such a barrier by a particular requires the purchase of specific and expensive parts. Finally, these connecting members are placed partially projecting and therefore constitute risk areas for children who are often attracted to the barriers. The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a removable safety barrier, simple in its design and in its operating mode, light and robust, and being a pose and deposit particularly easy. Another object of the present invention is a safety barrier which can be mounted in a passage to block access while the structural elements defining this passage do not allow the fixing of such a barrier. Indeed, there are situations in which it is not possible to mount a barrier of the prior art. These situations occur when the staircase is metal for example and that fixing the barrier by screwing some of its elements on the amounts of the stairs is not possible. The same problem is observed when the bearing surfaces offered by the structural elements defining the passage to be blocked have dimensions that are too small to allow sufficient anchoring or even the fixing itself of some of the elements of the barrier. This is particularly the case with a round balustrade. Finally, there is an urgent need for a safety barrier which can be mounted without the need to damage the structural elements defining the passage to be blocked. This avoids the formation of screw holes in woodwork, whereas the safety barrier is generally only used for periods which are always limited in time.
For this purpose, the invention relates to a safety barrier comprising a central panel delimited at its upper and lower ends by a cross member, two lateral uprights, fastening elements of each of said lateral uprights to a corresponding structure delimiting an edge of the passage of which the access is intended to be blocked by this barrier, the central panel being connected to at least one of these amounts by at least two coupling members forming with the lateral end of the central panel and this amount a deformable parallelogram for passing the barrier between a first so-called locking position where the central panel is in a lowered position, the end of the fastening elements is pressed against the structures defining the passage to fix in position the barrier and a second so-called unlocking position where the central panel being in a raised position, at least a portion of this The barrier is no longer attached to these structures. According to the invention, each coupling member comprises a first part received in a housing placed in the corresponding lateral upright, this housing opening at least partly on the inner edge to the barrier of this amount while a second part of the coupling member is received in another housing placed in the corresponding crossbar, these parts being rotatable in these housings. Preferably, the central panel is connected to each of these two lateral uprights by at least two coupling members forming with the lateral end of the central panel and the corresponding upright a deformable parallelogram making it possible to pass the barrier between said first position and said second position where this barrier is then no longer integral with these structures. These coupling members are advantageously in one piece. The plane of rotation of these coupling members coincides with the plane containing the central panel. The term "inner edge of the lateral upright", the portion of the lateral upright which is intended to be placed opposite the central panel of this barrier. This security barrier is advantageously made of wood but could also be metal or plastic.

The invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: - Figure 1 shows schematically a safety barrier according to a preferred embodiment of the invention; Fig. 2 is an enlarged and partial view of the upper part (Fig. 2a) and the lower part (Fig. 2b) of the safety barrier of Fig. 1, the central panel of this barrier being in a lowered position; FIG 3 is an enlarged partial view of the upper part (FIG 3 a) and the lower part (FIG 3 b) of the safety barrier of FIG 1, the central panel of this barrier being in a raised position; FIG. 4 is an enlarged and partial view of the lower part of the safety barrier according to another embodiment of the invention, showing the displacement of an anti-pinch protection element during the passage of the central panel of FIG. the lowered position (Fig. 4a) at the raised position (Fig. 4b); Figure 5 shows a top and sectional view of the fitting system of the safety barrier of Figure 1 to a railing in a particular embodiment; FIG. 6 shows a front view of the part comprising the attachment surface of the adaptation system of FIG. 5; Figures 1 to 3 show a safety barrier according to a particular embodiment of the invention. This security barrier comprises a perforated central panel 1 comprising vertical bars 2 interconnected at each of their ends by a horizontal bar 3, 4 delimiting the upper and lower ends of this central panel 1. Each horizontal bar 3, 4 is here formed of two parts assembled together by a fixing member of the screw and nut type, each of these parts further comprising a series of holes 5 regularly spaced or not to allow to vary the length of the horizontal bar 3, 4 corresponding.
This central panel 1 is connected to two lateral uprights 6, 7 by coupling members 8 (FIGS. 2 and 3). The coupling members 8 are here metal tongues pierced at their ends. Each lateral upright 6, 7 further comprises fastening elements 9 of this upright 6, 7 to a structure which may be a bar of a balustrade, a side of a door frame, or other delimiting an edge of the passage of which the access is intended to be blocked by the barrier. Each fixing element 9 advantageously comprises a mobile part 10 received at least partially in a housing provided for this purpose 10 in the outer edge 11 of the corresponding lateral upright 5, 6 and a fixed part 12 placed at the end of this moving part 10 and intended to abut against the structure delimiting an edge of the passage or to be received in a retaining element such as a cup previously attached to the structure. These fastening elements 9 are integral with the lateral uprights 6, 7. Each lateral upright 6, 7 forms with its coupling members 8 and the corresponding lateral end of the central panel 1 a deformable regular parallelogram allowing the barrier to pass through. a first so-called locking position where the central panel 1 is in a lowered position (Figure 2), the end of each fastening element 9, that is to say the fixed part 12 is pressed against said structures delimiting the passage to wedge in position the barrier and a second so-called unlocking position where the central panel 1 is in a raised position (Figure 3), the barrier is no longer integral with these structures. It should be noted that when the central panel 1 moves from its raised position to its lowered position, the lateral uprights 6, 7 move in opposite directions away from the central panel 1. This displacement of the lateral uprights 6, 7 allows to clamp the fasteners 9 against the structures defining the passage to wedge in position the safety barrier. Each coupling member 8 comprises a first portion received in a housing placed in the lateral upright 6, 7 corresponding, this housing opening on the inner edge 13 to the barrier of this amount while a second portion of this coupling member 8 is received in another housing placed in the crossbar 3, 4 corresponding, these parts being movable in rotation in the housing.
As regards the upper part of the lateral uprights 6, 7 of this barrier, each housing also opens on the top of the corresponding lateral upright to allow the upper cross member 3 to move at least partly above these lateral uprights 6 , 7 in the raised position of the central panel 1. Each side upright 6, 7 has on its inner edge 13 to the barrier, a notch 14 for allowing the movement of the lower cross member 4 during the passage of the central panel 1 between its position lowered and raised. In this latter position, the ends 10 of the lower cross member 4 abut against these notches 14 to stop the movement of the central panel 1. In order to avoid a possible pinching of one or more fingers of a person during the movement of the central panel 1 from its lowered position to its raised position, the barrier advantageously comprises a protection element 15 at each end of the lower crossbar 4. This protection element 15 is fixed at one of its ends by screwing 16 or bonding on the upper part of this crossbar 4 while its other end will come to explore the periphery of the inner edge 13 of the lateral upright 6, 7 corresponding to the displacement of the lower crossbar 4. This protective element 15 thus covering at least partially the end corresponding to the lower cross member 4, it is prevented that a finger can be caught between this end and the edge corresponding inside 13 of the lateral amount 6, 7. This protective element 15 is flexible to be able to deform and follow the periphery of the inner edge 13. It is advantageously made of plastic.
In addition, the barrier may comprise an adaptation system comprising two parts 17, 18 intended to come respectively on either side of the bars 19 of a balustrade and screw-type assembly members to assemble these parts between they and ensure their fixation on this balustrade.
One of these parts 17, 18 has a fixing surface 20, here a circular surface intended to allow the mounting of the cup-type retaining element intended to receive the fixed part 12.
