Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a sectional sliding door with lateral displacement comprising a pivoting gate end section.

By lateral displacement, it is necessary to understand any displacement different from the vertical displacement, and in general a horizontal displacement.
  • Such a door is formed of a plurality of rigid sections juxtaposed successively and articulated with respect to each other along vertical axes. This door can move between a first position called closing position in which it closes a building opening and a second position called the open position in which it releases substantially completely the building opening.

  • Such known sectional doors comprise a plurality of guiding assemblies which are integral with the opening and engaged on the upper rail, generally at least one guide assembly by section, in order to guide the entire rail in the rail. articulated opening during its lateral movement.
  • Such sectional doors can be further guided by a lower rail located at ground level and fixed thereto, continuous or discontinuous on the displacement length of the leaf.
  • a bottom rail does not however extend over the length of the door, when the sectional door is in its closed position to allow the pivotal opening of the latter.
  • Such sectional doors may generally comprise a frame against which the sectional opening is based in the closed position, in order to ensure a seal and to close the pivoting gate by means of a lock system.
  • sectional doors are generally motorized, but not exclusively; the gate itself is in principle manually open.
  • the present invention proposes to overcome these disadvantages, and to provide other advantages, such as for example to allow opening of the simple gate, requiring no action on the part of the user on the guide means.

  • This feature makes it possible to better link the guide assembly to the frame in the closed position of the sectional opening, in order to make the mechanical contacts of the bolt means and of the slider, if necessary, more firm with the vertical rod, especially when the closing and opening of the swing gate.

Such a door is formed of a plurality of rigid sections juxtaposed successively and articulated with respect to each other along vertical axes. This door can move between a first position called closing position in which it closes a building opening and a second position called the open position in which it releases substantially completely the building opening.

To make a passage through the building opening without having to open the entire sectional door, it is known to provide it with a gate. This is known for example from the document US 1787238 a sectional door with a door. The sectional door described in this document has a door constituted by the section of the door for the discharge of said door.

It is also known to have a door constituted by an end section of the sectional door, for example the end section which is opposite to the section for the discharge which may sometimes be integral with a motorized discharge means. In the closed position of the sectional door, the door can thus take an open position in which it realizes a partial opening of the building opening and a closed position which corresponds to the closed position of the sectional door. To move from one position to another, the gate pivots relative to the axis of articulation which separates it from the section next to the sectional door.

Such sectional doors are used with an upper guide rail of the opening consisting of two sections, generally arranged at right angles in parallel with two walls arranged at right angles themselves, one of which has a construction opening, both sections of rail being joined by a rounded. The sections of the opening are articulated in order to move along the walls inside the building. In this case, the discharge section of the opening in position of closure is substantially in a corner of the construction and is not used as gate because it is connected to the upper guide rail forming a rounded at this location, by an articulated arm making it impractical opening pivoting this section once the opening closed.

Such known sectional doors comprise a plurality of guiding assemblies which are integral with the opening and engaged on the upper rail, generally at least one guide assembly by section, in order to guide the entire rail in the rail. articulated opening during its lateral movement.

Such sectional doors can be further guided by a lower rail located at ground level and fixed thereto, continuous or discontinuous on the displacement length of the leaf. Such a bottom rail does not however extend over the length of the door, when the sectional door is in its closed position to allow the pivotal opening of the latter.

In such known sectional doors, and to allow the pivoting opening of the gate in the closed position of the sectional opening, it may be provided that the end of the upper guide rail which is located above the door n ' does not reach the frame and is separated from it by a space of sufficient length for the end guide assembly of the sectional opening that is connected to the door to be able to exit the rail in the closed position of the sectional opening and thus allows the pivoting of the gate whose guide assembly is no longer prisoner of the upper rail.

Such sectional doors may generally comprise a frame against which the sectional opening is based in the closed position, in order to ensure a seal and to close the pivoting gate by means of a lock system.

As indicated above, such sectional doors are generally motorized, but not exclusively; the gate itself is in principle manually open.

The space required for the clearance from the rail of the guide assembly which is connected to the door, in the closed position of the sectional opening, has a main drawback which is to have to reintroduce the guide assembly into the rail when the sectional opening opens by lateral displacement from its closed position, the gate being in the closed position. Indeed, this guide assembly, which is usually a carriage, sometimes pivoting, must be in good position in front of the end opening of the rail in principle before the bolt of the lock of the gate has left the striker, and moreover, it is not possible to completely close this rail end subjecting it to penetration dust and other particles. In addition, another disadvantage lies in the fact of having to very precisely manage the interlocking of the lock of the gate, more precisely of its bolt, in the striker of the frame while the guide carriage of the gate in its horizontal displacement of the opening sectional towards its closed position is coming out of the guide rail.

The present invention proposes to overcome these disadvantages, and to provide other advantages, such as for example to allow opening of the simple gate, requiring no action on the part of the user on the guide means.

To this end, the present invention proposes a sectional sliding door with lateral displacement for opening of construction, comprising an opening formed of a plurality of rigid sections juxtaposed successively and articulated one on the other along vertical axes, able to adopt by sliding lateral displacement at least the two following extreme positions:
  • a closed position of the building opening, and
  • an opening position of the building opening,
  • one of said sections defining an end section of the sash adopting the following dual functionality:
    • integral part of the end of the sliding sectional opening, participating in its closed position when closing said opening of construction,
    • gate passing through the opening in its closed position, pivoting about the vertical axis of articulation on the juxtaposed opening section, and able to adopt by pivoting at least the two following positions:
      • a partial opening position of the building opening,
      • a closing position of the building opening,
  • said gate-use end section being disposed, in the closing position of the opening leaf, at the end of an upper guide rail,
  • said sectional door having a guide assembly engaged on said upper guide rail and secured to said door to guide the upper part thereof during lateral displacement of the opening, said guide assembly of the door being secured thereto in an upper zone of the gate which is close to the lateral free edge of said opening, and said end guide assembly.

According to the present invention, the end guide assembly is releasably connected to the gate; said end guide assembly comprises first coupling means; the gate comprises second coupling means that can pass from a first coupling position in which the first coupling means cooperate with the second coupling means so as to make the end guide assembly integral with the gate; at a second coupling position in which the end guide assembly is movable relative to the gate, the second coupling means cooperating with a control stop allowing them to move from their first position to their second position when the Sectional door reaches its closed position of the building opening.

The means of disengagement and coupling of the end guide assembly and the gate allow to leave this assembly in the rail while allowing a pivotal opening of the gate in the closed position of the sectional opening. The gate can thus be guided more easily to the final closing position of the sectional opening, and when the gate is open or closed pivotally, the guide assembly is no longer protruding above it . In addition, with a door according to the invention, it is possible to use the lateral displacement to uncouple and couple the end guide assembly of the sectional opening and the door, adding no particular maneuver for the door. operator who manipulates the opening or closing of the gate or those of the sectional opening if necessary.

Selon l'invention :

According to the invention:
  • the first coupling means comprise a vertical rod fixed to said end guide assembly, and extending towards said gate beyond said upper rail,
  • the second coupling means comprise a latch means fixed to said door and movable with said door, able to engage around said vertical rod to engage with the latter when the door is in its closed position, and a slide associated with said gate and movable in translation thereon in the direction of lateral displacement of the opening, and adopting at least the two following extreme positions:
    • a locking position of said latch means engaged with the vertical rod of said guide assembly,
    • an unlocking position of said latch means,
and the control stop is arranged and fixed to a frame of the sectional door, so that it actuates said slide during the lateral displacement of the door, as follows:
  • towards its unlocking position of the latch means when the opening approaches sliding from its closed position, and
  • to its locking position of the latch means when the leaf leaves sliding its closed position to move to its open position.

According to an advantageous characteristic, the sectional door comprises:
  • respective stop means of the slide in its two extreme positions,
  • said control stop being an elastic pusher cooperating with a rigid finger, one of said elastic pusher or rigid finger being associated with the slider, the other of said elastic pusher or rigid finger being associated with the frame and arranged thereon so that than :
    • the rigid finger takes support of a first side of the elastic pusher when the opening approaches its closed position, the pusher then opposing a resistance adapted to move the slide in its unlocking position of the latch means under the effect of displacement continuous opening to its closed position, then the slider arriving sliding stop and the opening continuing its movement to its closed position, the rigid finger crosses the elastic pusher by elastic erasure of the latter so as to position themselves the second side of the elastic pusher opposite said first side, the opening being then in the closed position and the latch means being unlocked, and
    • the rigid finger bears on the second side of the elastic pusher when the opening leaves to slide its closed position to its open position, the pusher then opposing a resistor able to move the slide in its opposite locking position of the latch means under the effect of the continuous movement of the opening to its open position, then the slider arriving sliding stop and the opening continuing its movement to its open position, the rigid finger crosses the elastic pusher by elastic erasing of the latter so as to position itself on the first side of the elastic pusher opposite the second side, the opening being able to continue its movement towards its open position, the latch means being locked.

According to an alternative to the preceding feature, said sectional door further comprises:
  • resilient return means of the slide in its locking position of the latch means, the control stop being rigid and cooperating with said slide, is fixed to the frame and arranged thereon so that:
    • the slide bears on said rigid control stop when the door approaches its closed position, the rigid control stop then opposing a resistance able to move the slide in its unlocking position of the latch means under the effect of the displacement continuous opening to its closed position, the latch means being unlocked in the closed position of the opening, and
    • the slider resumes its locking position of the latch means, under the effect of the elastic return means of the slider, when the opening leaves to slide its closed position towards its open position, away from said rigid abutment , the latch means then being locked automatically.

This preferred alternative offers less impact on the sliding of the sectional opening due to the presence of the elastic return means of the slide.

According to an advantageous characteristic, said vertical rod fixed to said end guide assembly, and extending towards said gate beyond said upper rail, comprises a rotating outer ring co-operating with the slider when pivotally closing. of the gate, in order to move the slide to its unlocking position of the latch means, against the elastic return force of the slide in its locking position of the latch means.

According to an advantageous characteristic, the sectional door according to the invention comprises a guide means of the vertical rod of said end guide assembly, arranged and fixed to the frame, so as to guide the vertical rod at the end of lateral displacement of the opening, and maintain it in the guide means attached to the frame, in the closed position of the opening.

This feature makes it possible to better link the guide assembly to the frame in the closed position of the sectional opening, in order to make the mechanical contacts of the bolt means and of the slider, if necessary, more firm with the vertical rod, especially when the closing and opening of the swing gate.

According to an advantageous characteristic, said latch means comprises a notch for housing the vertical rod of said end guide assembly, which is open to one side of the gate.

The face of the gate to which is open the notch of the latch means is the face which is vis-à-vis the frame of the sectional door or the vertical rod when opening the door.

According to an advantageous characteristic, the guide means comprises a notch for housing the vertical rod of said end guide assembly, which is open towards the vertical free edge edge of the door when the door approaches its closed position.

This feature allows easy lateral support of the projecting end of the vertical rod when the sectional opening is in the closed position, in particular for the opening and closing of the door. The vertical rod is thus, in this position of the sectional opening, maintained at both ends, the other end being held by the guide assembly itself in the upper rail. The arrangement of the notch of the guide means is defined so that the vertical rod can be engaged at the end of closing of the sliding leaf; the notch thus extends in the direction of the guide rail or the identical direction of lateral displacement of the sectional opening.

According to an advantageous characteristic, the sectional door according to the invention comprises:
  • lock means associated with said gate for closing and pivotally locking it to the frame of the sectional door, said lock means being provided with a bolt adapted to cooperate with a keeper formed in the frame, said bolt engaging said latch at the end of lateral displacement of the opening in its closed position, and
  • guide means of the lower part of the gate when the door approaches its closed position, so that the bolt is maintained vis-à-vis the strike at the entrance therein.

The lock means make it possible to close and open the gate like a conventional door, using a handle and advantageously a key locking system or the like. The guide means of the lower part of the gate when the opening approaches its closed position improves the good relative positioning of the bolt and striker at the end of closing of the opening, because of the pressure exerted by the or seals on the gate and that tends to shift laterally the bolt of the strike.

It should be noted that these guide means of the lower part of the gate when the opening approaches its closed position, are independent of the other features of the present invention, and can be used in isolation, for example with a sectional door of the domain technique to which the invention relates as described at the beginning of the booklet, including sectional doors having a space between the end of the rail and the frame. This also applies to the guide means of the lower part of the gate as defined below.

According to an advantageous characteristic, said guide means of the lower part of the gate when the opening approaches its closed position, comprise:
  • a guide block, fixed to the ground, for guiding the lower part of the gate in the direction of lateral displacement of the opening, which is active at least when the opening approaches its closed position,
  • retractable rod means, associated with the lower part of the door in an area near the vertical free edge thereof, and cooperating with said guide wedge when the door approaches its closed position, said retractable rod means being at least between the following two extreme positions:
    • a projecting position beyond the lower edge of the gate, wherein said retractable rod is able to abut against said guide wedge, and
    • a retracted position in which said retractable rod is adapted to be out of support of said guide wedge.

The retractable rod means are used for guiding the gate while allowing a transverse crossing of the guide block. This crossing can be achieved by a retraction of the rod controlled by the lock means when they actuate the opening of the door, for example by the operation of the bolt of the lock, or by a retraction of the automatic rod during the opening of the gate.

According to an advantageous characteristic, said guide means of the lower part of the gate when the opening approaches its closed position, furthermore comprise:
  • return means of the retractable rod in the projecting position,
  • inverted V-shaped inclined ramp means, attached to the ground, arranged opposite the retractable rod means when the opening is in its closed position, the branches of the V being oriented in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the gate, so that:
    • the bottom of a first ramp, defined by a free end of one of the branches of the inverted V, is located substantially at the lower end of said retractable rod in its projecting position, and
    • the top of said first ramp defined by the vertex of the inverted V is located substantially at the top of said guide block, and
    • the free end of the other of the branches of the inverted V defining a second ramp is located substantially at the level of the lower end of said retractable rod in its projecting position.

According to the above feature, the first inclined ramp and the second inclined ramp allow automatic retraction of the retractable rod when opening and closing the gate. The retraction of the retractable rod in the projecting position can be obtained by simple gravity or by elastic return, for example by means of a spring.

The expression "sectional opening in imminent closing position" means that the opening is in closing approach, door closed, the slider coming into contact or being about to come into contact with the fixed abutment of the frame, and the lock bolt not yet engaged in the strike.

The expression "sectional opening in closed position" means that the opening is in closing stop and that the door can be opened or closed.

The expression "sectional opening in fully closed position" means that the opening is in closing abutment and the gate is closed.

The sliding sectional door with lateral displacement shown in the figures, is a door for opening 6 of construction, for example a garage door, comprising an opening 1 formed of a plurality of rigid sections, in this case five rigid sections 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e successively juxtaposed and articulated one on the other along vertical axes 3, as shown in FIG. figure 1 .

The sectional opening 1 is adapted to adopt by sliding lateral displacement at least the two following extreme positions:
  • a position of closure of the opening 6 of construction as shown on the figures 1 , 5 , 6, 7 , 8, 9 , 10 , 14C , 15 , 19, 20, 21 , and 22 , and
  • an open position of the opening 6 of construction (not shown in full opening).

A second of the sections defines a second end section of the sectional opening 1 adopting the following dual functionality:
  • integral part of the end of the opening 1 sliding section, participating in its closed position to the closure of the opening 6 of construction, as for example shown on the figure 1 ,
  • gate 2 passing through the opening 1 sectional in its closed position, pivoting about the vertical hinge axis 3 on the juxtaposed section 2d opening 1, and adapted to adopt by pivoting at least the two following positions when the opening 1 sectional is in the closed position:
    • a position of partial opening of the opening 6 of construction, as shown on the figure 6 ,
    • a position of closure of the opening 6 of construction, as shown on the figures 5 , 10 , 15, 14C , 19, 20 , 22 .

The end use end portion 2 is disposed, in the closed position of the sectional opening 1, at the end 7 of an upper guide rail 4, as for example shown in FIG. figure 1 . This guide upper rail 4 in a known manner and as represented on the figure 1 , along the lintel of the opening 6 and the wall at right angles juxtaposed to that of the opening against which the opening sectional 1 is placed in its open position. The upper guide rail 4 forms two rail sections connected by a rounded rail portion in the spandrel. It is not envisaged here that section 2a of the sectional opening 1 which is located in the spandrel in the closed position, below the rounded guide rail portion can serve as a gate: indeed, this section is, specifically because of the rounded, pressed against the opening by means of an articulated arm that would make the opening pivoting this delicate section. The invention therefore relates only to the end section of the sectional opening which can be guided by a guide assembly engaged in the rail.

The sectional door comprises a guide assembly 5 engaged on the upper guiding rail 4 and integral with the gate 2e to guide the upper part 8 of the latter during the lateral displacement of the sectional opening 1, this assembly 5 guiding the upper part 8 of the 2nd gate being secured thereto in an upper zone 9 of the gate 2e which is close to the lateral free edge 10 of the opening sectional 1. This guide assembly 5 is said end guide assembly 5 of the opening 1 sectional. In general, at least one guide assembly is present for each sectional portion of the sectional opening.

Such a sectional door is known from the state of the art and will not be described in more detail here.

The sectional door shown according to the two embodiments further comprises according to the invention:
  • means 11 for disconnecting the end guide assembly 5 and the gate 2e, in the closed position of the opening 1, as shown in FIG. figure 5 such that in this position of the sectional opening 1, when the second gate swiveling from its closed position to its open position, the end guide assembly 5 remains positioned in the upper guide rail 4 as represented on the figure 6 for example, and
  • means 12 for coupling the end guide assembly 5 and the gate 2e, such that these elements are connected to each other during the lateral displacement of the sectional opening 1 from its closed position to its open position, as shown on the figure 11 . The coupling can for example occur at the beginning of movement of the opening 1, from its closed position to its open position, as will be explained later.

The means for uncoupling 11 or coupling 12 the end guide assembly 5 and the gate 2e include:
  • means 13, 14, 17 for locking the end guide assembly 5 on the gate 2, and
  • means 15 for unlocking the end guide assembly 5 with the gate 2e,
  • a control stop of the locking means 13, 14, 17 and unlocking 15 by sliding lateral displacement of the sectional opening 1, as shown in FIGS. figures 5 , 11 , 18 , 23 .

As shown on Figures 2 and 3 according to the invention, the means for uncoupling 11 or coupling 12 the end guide assembly 5 and the gate 2e include:
  • a vertical rod 17 fixed to the guide assembly 5 and extending towards the second gate beyond the upper rail 4,
  • a latch means 14 attached to and movable with the second gate, able to engage around the vertical rod 17 to engage with the latter when the gate 2e is in its closed position,
  • a slide 13 associated with said gate 2 and movable in translation thereon in the direction of lateral displacement of the opening 1, and adopting at least the two following extreme positions:
    • a locking position of the latch means 14 engaged with the vertical rod 17 of the guide assembly, as shown in FIG. figure 2 for example,
    • an unlocking position of the latch means 14, as shown in FIG. figure 5 for example,
  • a stop 19,24 for controlling the slider 13, arranged and fixed to the frame 18 of the sectional door, so that they actuate the slider 13 during the lateral displacement of the sectional opening 1, as follows:
    • towards its unlocking position of the latch means 14 when the opening 1 sectional approach to sliding from its closed position, as shown on the figure 5 , and
    • towards its locking position of the latch means 14 when the opening sectional 1 leaves sliding its closed position to move to its open position, as shown in FIG. figure 11 .

In the example, the end guiding assembly 5 of the gate 2e is a guide carriage, for example four-wheel, known type, the four wheels being rotatably mounted on a carriage frame on which the vertical rod 17 is fixed and associated with the 2nd gate. This assembly 5 is free to roll in the upper rail 4, the latter having a longitudinal lower slot for the lateral displacement of the rod 17 through it throughout the lateral movement of the opening 1 sectional. The rod 17 is associated with the gate 2e, releasably as will be explained. The rod 17 extends vertically for example in front of the front edge of the gate 2e which constitutes the lateral free edge 10 of the sectional opening 1, as shown in FIG. figure 2 . A system of latch means 14 and slider 13 allows the rod 17 to be associated with the gate 2e and to lock it thereon in an unlockable manner.

The latch means 14 consists of a rigid blade fixed on the upper edge of the gate 2e as shown in the figures, especially the figure 8 , for example by means of screws 40, so that the rigid blade extends frontally beyond the vertical portion of the gate 2e. At the end of this rigid blade that extends beyond the vertical portion of the gate 2e, a lateral notch 27 is formed to accommodate the vertical rod 17 of the end guide assembly 5 as shown in FIG. figure 2 for example. This lateral notch 27 is open towards a lateral face of the gate 2e as represented on the Figures 8 or 9 , which is opposite the upper rail 4 when the second gate pivots, so that the rod 17 enters the lateral notch 27 at the end of the pivoting closure of the gate 2e as shown in FIG. figure 9 . The notch 27 which therefore extends in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the gate 2e, is a drive means of the vertical rod 17 along the rail 4 during the lateral displacement of the opening sectional 1, door 2nd course closed, and thus a drive means of the guide assembly. The latch means 14 alone, however, does not provide a lock of the rod 17, the latch 14 and the gate 2e could be released inadvertently by pivoting of the gate 2 during the lateral movement of the opening 1 sectional. The slider 13 makes it possible to lock the rod 17 on the latch means 14, as explained below.

The slider 14 is constituted for example by a rigid plate mounted above the latch means 14, slidably in the longitudinal direction of lateral displacement of the sectional opening 1, as shown in FIGS. figures 2 , 5 , 8 or 9 for example. Existing longitudinal grooves or provided for this purpose on the upper rail section constituting the gate 2e may advantageously be used to provide the translational guidance of the slide 13, as shown. One end of the slider 13 has a notch 41 which extends beyond the slice vertical side of the gate 2e so as to close the opening of the notch 27 of the latch means 14 as shown in FIG. figure 11 , in the locking position of the latch means 14 engaged on the vertical rod 17 of the guide assembly 5. Thus, in this position, the rod 17 is locked in the assembly constituted by the latch means 14 and the slide 13.

According to the first embodiment shown on the Figures 2 to 11 , which will now be described, the slider 13 is furthermore linked to the upper cross-member profile constituting the gate 2e or by means of latch 14, advantageously by an elastic connection, for example an elastic return means 23, in particular a spring, such as represented on the figure 5 . The spring 23 has the effect of automatically recalling the slider 13 in its locking position of the rod 17.

The sectional door preferably comprises:
  • the means 23 for elastic return of the slide 13 in its locking position of the latch means 14,
  • the stop 24 of control, being rigid and cooperating with the slider 13, is fixed to the frame 18 and arranged thereon so that:
    • the slide 13 bears on the stop 24 of rigid control when the opening 1 approaches its closed position, the stop 24 of rigid control then opposing a resistor capable of moving the slide 13 in its unlocked position of the latch means 14 under the effect of the continuous movement of the opening 1 to its closed position, the latch means 14 being unlocked in the closed position of the opening 1, and that
    • the slider 13 resumes its locking position of the latch means 14, under the effect of the elastic return means 23 of the slider 13, when the opening 1 leaves sliding its closed position to its open position, in s' away from the stop 24 of rigid control, the latch means 14 is then automatically locked with the rod 17 trapped.

The stop 24 of rigid control is for example formed on the vertical upright of the frame 18 of the sectional door, in the upper part thereof, as shown in FIG. figure 2 or 5 for example. This stop 24 of control is arranged preferably so as to present itself in vis-à-vis the slide 14 in the axis thereof to facilitate its sliding. This stop 24 control will advantageously in the form of a plane inclined at 45 ° with respect to the direction of lateral displacement of the opening sectional 1, as shown in FIG. figure 5 in particular. A conjugate inclined plane 16, also at 45 ° with respect to the direction of lateral displacement of the sectional opening, will be formed at the angle of the end of the slide 13 which is in front of the edge of the gate 2e and which enters in contact with the rod 17 during the pivotal closure of the gate 2e.

The conjugate abutment 16 of the slider 13 is for example selected at 45 ° so as to also allow contact and operation of the slider 13 in the unlocking position of the rod 17, during the pivotal closure of the gate 2e, as shown in FIG. Figures 8 and 9 . Indeed, the spring return means 23 automatically returning the slide 13 to the latch locking position 14, the system automatically locks without the rod 17 when the gate 2e is pivotally open, as shown in FIG. figure 7 , and closes the inlet of the notch 27 of the latch means 14. Thus, it is necessary to provide an unlocking of the latch 14 when the latter is in front of the rod 17 vertical during the pivotal closure of the gate 2e. It is also the role of the combined abutment 16 of the slider 13, in the example arranged at 45 °, to allow elastic deletion of the slider 13 in front of the rod 17 so that the notch 27 of the latch 14 can be placed around of the rod 17 when closing the gate 2e as shown on the figure 9 .

In order to facilitate this operation, and as represented on the figure 9 for example, the vertical rod 17 fixed to the end guide assembly 5, and extending towards the gate 2e beyond the upper rail 4, advantageously comprises a rotating outer ring cooperating in rotation with the conjugate stop of the slide 13, during the pivotal closure of the gate 2e, in order to move the slide 13 to its unlocking position of the latch means 14, against the elastic restoring force of the slide 13 in its locking position of the latch means 14. The ring 25 makes it possible to transform the friction of the slide 13 against the rod 17 into a rolling of the ring 25, which is less resistant.

Preferably, as shown more particularly on the Figures 6 and 7 , the sectional door shown comprises means 26 for guiding the vertical rod 17 of the end guide assembly 5, arranged and fixed to the frame 18, so as to guide the vertical rod 17 at the end of lateral displacement of the opening 1 sectional, and maintain it in the guide means 26 attached to the frame 18, in the closed position of the opening 1. This guide means 26 may be for example a square or any other part attached to the part vertical of the frame 18, presenting a part horizontal which preferably comprises a notch 28 for housing the vertical rod 17 of the end guide assembly 5, which is open towards the vertical free edge edge 10 of the gate 2e when the opening 1 approaches its closed position . This means 26 of guide has no function other than that of maintaining the free end of the rod 17 which extends beyond the rail 4 in order to facilitate the unlocking and locking operations of the latch means 14, and incidentally to facilitate the opening and the pivotal closure of the gate 2e. The end of the rod 17 of the end guide assembly 5 is housed in the notch 28 of the guide means 26 at the end of complete closure of the sectional opening 1.

In order to further improve the holding of the guiding assembly 5 in the rail in the closed position of the sectional opening 1, and in particular with a view to facilitating the operations of closing and pivoting opening of the door 2, the door sectional preferably comprises, as shown more particularly on the Figures 8 to 10 , a locking means 42 in the rail 4 of the end guide assembly 5 when in the closed position of the sectional opening 1. This blocking means 42 may take the form of a plastic wedge fitted into the inner section of the rail, introduced for example by the end of the guiding rail 4, against which the wheels of the guiding assembly 5 lightly rub into place. closing end of the opening 1 sectional. The essential role of this blocking means 42 is to ensure that the vertical rod 17, and therefore the guide assembly 5, can not inadvertently move longitudinally in the guide rail 4 between the moment the gate 2e is opened. and when it is closed, that is to say the time during which it is no longer associated with the guide assembly. In addition, a good holding of the assembly 5 in position makes it possible to make the movements of the slider 13 generated by the contact against the rod 17 or more precisely the ring 25 during closure of the gate 2e more firm and precise, and also during its opening to ensure a clearer clearance of the latch means 14.

The sectional door preferably comprises, as shown more particularly on the Figures 4, 5 , 10, and 11 :
  • locking means 29 associated with the gate 2e for closing and pivotally locking it to the frame 18 of the sectional door, the locking means 29 being provided with a bolt 30 adapted to cooperate with a latch 31 formed in the frame 18, the bolt 30 engaging in the striker 31 at the end of lateral displacement of the opening 1 sectional in its closed position, and
  • means 32 for guiding the lower portion 33 of the gate 2e when the opening 1 approaching its closed position, so that the bolt 30 is held vis-à-vis the striker 31 at the entrance into that -this.

These lock means 29 may be of conventional type, such as those equipping the sectional doors of the state of the art described. We see an example of these means of lock seen from above on the Figures 4, 5 , 10, and 11 and substantially viewed laterally on the figure 15 . They comprise for example a handle or more particularly a pull tab 43 allowing an operator to maneuver the bolt 30 of the lock to allow the opening of the gate 2e when the opening 1 sectional is in the full closed position. The operator pulls laterally on the gate 2e after pulling the pull tab 43 to release the bolt 30 of the keeper 31. The lock 29 functions as a lock on a conventional pivot door. The lock 29 may comprise a system 44 of additional lock, for example key-operated or the like, for locking the lock in a conventional manner, at the striker 31 and / or at other locking points, for example at three points. lock, up, down, and median at the lock. The lock 29 is fixed to the gate 2e in the middle part of its height.

It should be noted that the lock means 29 can be used alternatively to the example described above, to actuate the slider 13. According to such an alternative (not shown) which does not form part of the invention, the stop 24 for controlling the unlocking of the slider 13 can be omitted, and the sectional opening 1 then arrives in the closed position with the rod 17 trapped in the latch means 14. It is therefore the handle of the lock 29 which will actuate the slide 13 to the rear to open the notch 27 of the latch means 14, thus allowing the opening of the gate 2e by pulling on its operating handle, the rod 17 being free to leave the notch. For this purpose, the slider 13 may be controlled by an operating rod associated with the lock, possibly with angle references, in the manner of a conventional rod for operating a multi-point lock. Of course, an opposite maneuver will make it possible to lock the latch means 14 with the captive vertical rod 17, when closing the gate 2e, by means of the handle of the lock 29.

When the opening 1 sliding sectional moves to its closed position, approaching the closure, the bolt 30 of the lock 29 must be able to engage in the keeper 31 according to the lateral displacement in translation of the opening 1 as shown on the Figures 4 and 5 .

On the figure 4 , the opening 1 is in lateral displacement towards its closed position and is in imminent closing position: the slider 13 just comes into contact with the abutment 24 for controlling the frame 18 and the bolt 30 is in front of the striker, but is not yet engaged in it.

On the figure 5 which represents the complete closing position of the sectional opening 1, the slider 13 has cleared the opening of the notch 27 of the latch 14 and the bolt 30 has entered the striker 31: the door 2e is then in position d to be opened by an operator on simple operation of the handle or the pull tab 43 of the lock 29, provided that the locking of the latter is not activated.

Between the two Figures 4 and 5 , the opening 1 has continued its sliding lateral movement towards its closed position, while the slider 13 has remained immobilized relative to the frame 18 by means of the abutment 24 of control which is fixed thereon. Given the pressure exerted by the seal 45 coming to bear against the outer side face of the gate 2e at the end of closing of the opening sectional 1, and which tends to open the gate 2 to pivot, it is preferable that the 24 stop control is arranged so that the slider 13 has not fully released the latch 14 before the bolt 30 has entered the keeper 31.

Due to this pressure of the seal 45, and taking into account the median position of the lock 29 on the height of the gate 2e, the sectional door shown advantageously comprises means 32 for guiding the lower part 33 of the gate 2e as represented on the Figures 12 to 14C , which will now be described.

The means 32 for guiding the lower part 33 of the gate 2e are suitable for the two described embodiments of the sectional door according to the invention, and more generally also suitable for other embodiments of a sectional door, which is include in the known sectional door as described at the beginning of the descriptive part examples of embodiments of a sectional door according to the invention, as indicated.

The means 32 for guiding the lower portion 33 of the gate 2e when the opening sectional 1 approaching its closed position, advantageously include:
  • a shim 34 of guide, fixed to the ground, to guide the lower part 33 of the gate 2e in the direction of lateral displacement of the opening 1, which is active at least when the opening 1 approaches its closed position,
  • retractable rod means 35, associated with the lower part 33 of the second gate in a zone near the vertical free edge 10 thereof, and cooperating with the guide shim 34 when the opening 1 approaches its closed position, the retractable rod means 35 being movable at least between the two following extreme positions:
    • a projecting position beyond the lower edge 36 of the gate 2e, in which the retractable rod 35 is able to bear against the guide wedge 34, and
    • a retracted position in which the retractable rod 35 is able to be out of support of the guide block 34, and advantageously
  • return means, for example by gravity or elastic return of the retractable rod 35 in the projecting position,
  • inclined inverted V-shaped inclined ramp means 37 disposed opposite the retractable rod means 35 when the opening 1 is in its closed position, the branches of the V being oriented in a direction perpendicular to the plane of gate 2e, so that:
    • the bottom of a first ramp 38, defined by a free end of one of the branches of the inverted V, is located substantially at the lower end of the retractable rod 35 in its projecting position, and that
    • the top of the first ramp 38 defined by the vertex of the inverted V is located substantially at the top of the guide shim 34, and
    • the free end of the other of the branches of the inverted V defining a second ramp 39 is located substantially at the level of the lower end of the retractable rod 35 in its projecting position.

The guide shim 34, fixed to the ground, may take the form of an insert attached to the foot of the vertical upright of the frame 18, on a rail itself fixed to the ground where appropriate, or directly on the ground, as shown on the Figures 12 to 14 , whose bearing length of the retractable rod 35 during the movement of the opening 1 is defined so that this retractable rod 35 preferably takes support on the shim 34 before the sash 1 reaches its imminent position closing, that is to say before the slide 13 comes into contact with the abutment 24 of the frame, and before the bolt 30 has entered the keeper 31.

Thus, when the opening 1 sectional arrives in the imminent closing position, the end gate 2 is held in the upper part by the guiding assembly 5 still active (not unlocked) and in the lower part advantageously by the shim 34 for guiding, to ensure proper interlocking of the bolt 30 of the lock 29 in the keeper 31.

The retractable rod means 35 may, for example, consist of an assembly embedded in the thickness of the gate, comprising a cylindrical base fixed in the gate 2e, and an axis sliding vertically in the base with a return spring of the axis. in the out position or alternatively using the gravity for the return of the rod in the extended position.

The ramps 38, 39 with an inverted V, as shown on the Figures 12, 13 , and 14 , are perpendicular to the guide plane of the retractable rod 35 during the displacement of the opening 1 sliding, to allow the retractable rod 35 to fade by vertical translation, and to cross the height of the shim 34 guide when the gate 2 passes from its closed position to its open position, and vice versa.

It should be noted that when the sectional door comprises a floor rail 50 extending throughout the sectional opening 1 when the latter is in the closed position, this floor rail 50 constitutes an obstacle for the retractable rod when the gate 2 must cross it during the movement of the sectional opening 1 between its open and closed positions, more specifically when the 2nd door is in the spandrel according to the figure 1 . In this case, an inverted V-boom system as described above must also be positioned on the rail 50 at the point where it is crossed by the retractable rod, substantially in the area of the stool, according to the needs of the construction.

The sectional door shown in the figures preferably comprises an end stop (not shown) opening one sectional in the closed position, which is not applied to the gate to prevent it from taking a load of force in the case for example of a motorized opening, which would affect the smooth operation of the opening and the pivotal closure of the gate 2e. Preferably, therefore, the end stop of the opening section 1 will for example be engaged on the previous section of the opening 1, juxtaposed to the door, in the example section 2d.

The second embodiment shown on the Figures 16 to 24 will now be described. In this second embodiment, the numerical references for elements similar to those of the first mode remain the same. This second embodiment differs from the first mode described above by the control stop of the slide 14. The other characteristics of the sectional door can be identical to those of the first mode, and reference is made to the description of this first mode for them. More specifically, the sectional door with control stop of the slide 13 as shown on the Figures 16 to 24 comprises
  • respective stop means of the slide 13 in its two extreme positions,
  • said control stop being an elastic pusher 19 cooperating with a rigid finger 20, one of the elastic pusher 19 or rigid finger 20 being associated with the slide 13, the other of the elastic pusher 19 or rigid finger 20 being associated with the frame 18 and arranged on it so that:
    • the rigid finger 20 bears on a first side 19 of the elastic pusher 19 when the opening 1 approaches its closed position, the pusher 19 then opposing a resistor capable of moving the slide 13 in its unlocked position of the latch means 14 under the effect of the continuous movement of the opening 1 to its closed position, then the slide 13 arriving sliding stop and the opening 1 continuing its movement to its closed position, the rigid finger 20 crosses the pusher 19 resiliently erasing the latter so as to position the second 22 side of the pusher 19 elastic opposite the first 21 side, the opening 1 then being in the closed position and the latch means 14 being unlocked, and
    • the rigid finger 20 bears on the second 22 side of the elastic pusher 19 when the opening 1 leaves sliding its closed position to move towards its open position, the pusher 19 then opposing a resistance able to move the slide 13 in its reverse locking position of the latch means 14 under the effect of the continuous movement of the opening 1 to its open position, then the slide 13 arriving at sliding stop and the opening 1 continuing its movement towards its position d opening, the rigid finger 20 crosses the elastic pusher 19 by elastic erasure of the latter so as to position itself from the first 21 side of the elastic pusher 19 opposite the second 22 side, the opening 1 being able to continue its movement towards its position opening the latch means 14 being locked.

The elastic pusher 19 may adopt for example the shape of a deformable elastic ring, as shown more particularly on the Figures 17, 18 , 19 having on its outer periphery a projecting element 46 capable of intercepting the race rigid finger 20 when moving the opening sectional 1 to its closed position or to its open position. In the example, the pusher 19 is fixed at a point at least in the upper part of the frame 18 in the end zone of the guide rail 4 and above the slider 13. The protruding element 46 adopts, for example, the shape a V forming two opposed inclined planes of attack of the rigid finger 20, a slope in the direction of closing the opening 1 and the other slope in the opening direction of the opening 1, and the top is turned towards the slider 13.

When the rigid finger 20 intercepts the projecting element 46 during the displacement of the sectional opening 1, on one of its inclined planes, in a first step the projecting element 46 blocks the rigid finger 20 and thus the slide 13 assuring thus locking or unlocking the latch means 14. Then, in a second step, when the slider 13 comes into abutment in one of its extreme positions, the opening 1 continuing its displacement, the projecting element 46 fades from elastic manner by deformation of the elastic ring in the example, to ensure its passage through the rigid finger 20 and so that the opening 1 arrives in the closed position, or the opening 1 continues its movement to its position opening.

The rigid finger 20 may adopt for example the shape of a lateral extension of the plate forming the slide 13, or alternatively adopt the shape of a protuberance (not shown) on the plate forming the slide 13, which would be suitable for be intercepted by the projecting element 46.

It should be noted that in this second embodiment, unlike the first mode, the slider 13 is not biased to the latch means latching position 14 automatically, the latch means 14 remains unlocked when the latch means 14 is unlocked. opening and closing of the 2nd gate. As a result, the rotating ring around the vertical rod 17 of the guide assembly 5 is not necessary. In this second embodiment, the presence of the blocking means of the assembly 5 in the guide rail 4 in the closed position of the sectional opening 1 is preferable, as well as the presence of the rod guide means 26 17 end of the end guide assembly.

    • dans cette position, le portillon 2e peut être ouvert ou fermé à pivotement en manoeuvrant simplement les moyens de serrure 29 comme expliqué plus haut ; en effet, la butée 24 de commande agit le cas échéant sur le coulisseau 13 pour maintenir celui-ci en position de déverrouillage du moyen de loquet 14 lorsque l'ouvrant 1 est dans sa position de fermeture ; le portillon 2e est désaccouplé de l'ensemble 5 de guidage pour un mouvement libre d'ouverture pivotante du portillon ; lors d'une manoeuvre pivotante du portillon 2e, l'ensemble 5 de guidage d'extrémité reste prisonnier dans le rail 4 avec sa tige 17 verticale ;
    • le portillon étant fermé, lorsqu'on veut ouvrir l'ouvrant 1 afin de dégager l'ouverture 6 de construction, l'ouverture est commandée à distance ou par commande de l'actionneur (non représenté) de déplacement si l'ouvrant 1 est motorisé, ou opérée manuellement si l'ouvrant 1 est à ouverture manuelle : en début d'ouverture de l'ouvrant 1 à coulissement, lorsque ce dernier quitte sa position de fermeture, le coulisseau 13 reste tout d'abord immobile, étant ainsi ramené dans sa position de verrouillage du moyen de loquet 14, par rapport au portillon qui lui est entraîné avec l'ouvrant 1 ; ce verrouillage se réalise soit automatiquement (premier mode) sous l'effet du ressort 23, soit par obstacle élastique (deuxième mode), garantissant ainsi la liaison entre l'ensemble 5 de guidage et le portillon 2e, et donc le guidage du portillon 2e par le rail 4 supérieur ; dès le début du déplacement de l'ouvrant 1, l'orientation de l'encoche 27 entraîne un accouplement entre le portillon 2e et l'ensemble 5 de guidage dans la direction de déplacement de l'ouvrant, puis un verrouillage successif entre ces éléments se produit après que le coulisseau 13 se soit déplacé par rapport à l'ouvrant 1/au portillon 2e ; l'ouvrant 1 peut ainsi atteindre sa position d'ouverture ;
    • lorsqu'on veut déplacer l'ouvrant 1 afin de fermer l'ouverture 6 de construction, la fermeture est commandée à distance ou par commande de l'actionneur (non représenté) de déplacement si l'ouvrant 1 est motorisé, ou opérée manuellement si l'ouvrant 1 est à fermeture manuelle : le portillon 2e est guidé tout au long du déplacement de l'ouvrant 1 par l'accouplement entre ce dernier et l'ensemble 5 de guidage ; lorsque l'ouvrant 1 arrive en position imminente de fermeture, la butée 24 de dormant entraîne, par immobilisation du coulisseau 14 jusqu'à la fermeture complète de l'ouvrant 1, alors que ce dernier poursuit son déplacement latéral, le déverrouillage progressif du moyen de loquet 14 qui lie le chariot 5 de guidage au portillon 2e, afin que ces deux éléments soient désaccouplés en position de fermeture de l'ouvrant, pour une ouverture possible pivotante du portillon ; simultanément ou sensiblement simultanément, la cale 34 d'appui inférieure amorce le guidage de la partie inférieure du portillon 2e afin d'assurer un positionnement correct du pêne 30 en face de la gâche 31 ; lorsque l'ouvrant 1 arrive en butée de fermeture dans son déplacement coulissant, le moyen de loquet 14 est déverrouillé et le pêne 30 de la serrure 29 engagé dans la gâche 31 ; le portillon 2e peut alors être ouvert et fermé à pivotement indépendamment de l'ouvrant 1.
The described sectional door operates as follows, according to the first or second embodiment:
  • From the closed position of the opening sectional 1, as shown on the figure 1 :
    • in this position, the gate 2e can be opened or closed pivotally by simply operating the lock means 29 as explained above; indeed, the control stop 24 acts, if necessary, on the slider 13 to keep it in the unlocked position of the latch means 14 when the opening 1 is in its closed position; the 2nd gate is uncoupled from the guide assembly 5 for a free pivoting opening movement of the gate; during a pivoting maneuver of the gate 2e, the end guide assembly 5 remains trapped in the rail 4 with its vertical rod 17;
    • the gate being closed, when opening the opening 1 in order to clear the opening 6 of construction, the opening is controlled remotely or by control of the actuator (not shown) of displacement if the opening 1 is motorized, or operated manually if the opening 1 is manually open: at the beginning of opening of the opening 1 to slide, when the latter leaves its closed position, the slide 13 remains immobile first, thus being brought back in its locking position of the latch means 14, relative to the gate which is driven with the opening 1; this locking is realized either automatically (first mode) under the effect of the spring 23, or by elastic obstacle (second mode), thus guaranteeing the connection between the guide assembly 5 and the gate 2e, and therefore the guiding of the gate 2e by the upper rail 4; from the beginning of the displacement of the opening 1, the orientation of the notch 27 causes a coupling between the gate 2e and the guide assembly 5 in the direction of movement of the opening, and a subsequent locking between these elements occurs after the slider 13 has moved relative to the opening 1 / gate 2e; the opening 1 can thus reach its open position;
    • when one wishes to move the opening 1 in order to close the opening 6 of construction, the closing is controlled remotely or by control of the actuator (not shown) of displacement if the opening 1 is motorized, or operated manually if the opening 1 is manually closed: the 2nd gate is guided throughout the movement of the opening 1 by coupling between the latter and the guide assembly 5; when the opening 1 reaches the imminent closing position, the abutment 24 of the frame causes, by immobilization of the slide 14 until the complete closure of the opening 1, while the latter continues its lateral movement, the progressive unlocking of the means latch 14 which links the carriage 5 guiding gate 2, so that these two elements are uncoupled in the closed position of the opening, for a possible opening swivel gate; simultaneously or substantially simultaneously, the lower support shim 34 initiates the guiding of the lower part of the gate 2e to ensure correct positioning of the bolt 30 in front of the striker 31; when the opening 1 comes into closing abutment in its sliding movement, the latch means 14 is unlocked and the bolt 30 of the lock 29 engaged in the striker 31; the gate 2e can then be opened and closed to pivot independently of the opening 1.
