Definitions
- the invention relates to the construction of an armor for an object to be protected stationary or movable type in particular hollow charge projectiles.
- Hollow charges are also a threat to armored (wheel) vehicles.
- a shaped charge is a special arrangement of explosive explosive (often Nitropenta or Hexogen / Oktogenbasis) around a cone or hemispherical metal insert, which is particularly suitable for penetrating armor. It is used accordingly as armor-piercing ammunition.
- the cone-shaped metal insert is surrounded with a forward opening with the explosive.
- SLATs simple shaped charge protection devices
- a preferably removable SLAT protective structure discloses the DE 10 2007 036 393 A1
- a protective grid of this kind also describes the DE 10 2007 002 577 A1
- Another protection device will be with the DE 103 10 952 A1 published.
- a protection module for the protection of objects with electric current against threats, in particular by shaped charges is with the DE 10 2005 021 348 B3 protected.
- Such concepts consist of a plate assembly, a capacitor, a supply line and a charger ( Fig. 1 ). If the shaped charge jet H reaches the armor, it closes the capacitor by contacting the upper and lower (front / rear) plate. The capacitor discharges the circuit, which forms a strong magnetic field due to the high current around the waveguide beam, which in turn acts on the charged particles of the shaped charge jet in the form of strong forces. This causes the increase in the diameter of the shaped charge jet, thereby reducing the penetration power of the shaped charge jet itself.
- the principle may be modified, for example by connecting a plurality of plates in series, providing dielectric fluids between the plates or changing dielectric fluids and the ceramic between the plates.
- the invention has the object to provide an earlier response to the shaped charge jet by shorter / lower slew rates.
- the invention is based on the idea of dividing the capacity of an otherwise used central capacitor on a plurality of plate capacitors, so that the capacitance of the capacitor is realized by a plurality of plate capacitors, which are formed between the successive protective plates.
- Each of the capacitors is charged to a voltage U 0 .
- a rapid current increase is possible due to the short "lead” when the beam electrically connects the plates of the first capacitor and so only the first capacitor is shorted, whereby the shaped charge beam is almost the only inductance of the short circuit , So can already on the front of the beam be reacted.
- the charger is preferably located within the vehicle or object to be protected.
- the protection module formed from the many protective plates is charged by means of a coaxial HV cable. The voltage distribution can be done both in the charger and in the protection module.
- the current increase and the amplitude are now determined only by the parameters of the shaped charge jet, the first capacitance C and the charging voltage U 0 . Since both the inductance and the capacitance of the short circuit are lower than is the case in conventional applications, this smaller circle has a significantly lower slew rate.
- the plate spacing can also be chosen smaller than conventional plates, since several are arranged one behind the other. This also contributes to an earlier influence on the tip of the shaped charge jet. Another not unimportant advantage is that it dispenses with the central capacitor, which no longer requires its own space in the vehicle.
- the protection module can be constructed from several protection module parts. This has the advantage that the less important areas that need to be protected can have fewer plates, making the entire protection module lighter. Another advantage that can be realized with submodules is the interchangeability of defective submodules.
- the protection part modules can be connected to each other so that when detected attack, the capacitors can be supplied in the bombardment area with an additional voltage, thus increasing the slew rate. It can remain open whether the capacities outside the detected impact point of the shaped charge projectile release their tension or a central source takes over this task.
- Fig. 1 shows the basic structure of an electrical protection module 1, consisting of several consecutively mounted plates P 1 , P 2 , to P n to form a plurality of capacitances C 1 to C n .
- dielectric ceramics 3 are sandwiched between the plates P 1-n .
- Each of the capacitors C1 to C n is charged to a charging voltage U 0 .
- the shaped charge jet H strikes the first plate P 1 , it short-circuits the first capacitor C 1 (P 1 and P 2 ). With each further penetration of the capacitances C 2 -n by the shaped charge jet H, these are sequentially short-circuited, the shaped charge jet is attenuated H and made the main mass ineffective.
- Fig. 2 shows the division of the protection module 1, here on a sketchy shown object 20, in different or subdivided protection areas 10 and Schutzteilmodule. It is possible to make this symmetrical, which allows easy replacement in case of failure, or to allow an asymmetry.
- the sub-modules 10 ' may be constructed thicker in their construction in the main areas to be protected on an object 20 than in other areas.
- the protective part modules 10 can be connected to each other so that when detected attack, the capacitors C 1-n in the bombardment 11 can be supplied with an additional voltage U, thus increasing the current amplitude at these capacitors between the plates.
- C 1 (-n) determines the current rise speed at the beginning and is then supplied with the main current by the central capacitor. It is understood that combinations of these and the variant already described are possible.

Abstract
Description
Fig. 1 ).
- Fig. 1
- Fig. 2
