Claims (2)
- A device for hardening rails (1), particularly profiled tracks, optionally with a respectively different shape of cross-section and a length greater than 50m, by cooling of at least part of the respective rail cross-section over the entire rail length in a cooling medium, consisting of transverse displacement means (21) in the region of a roller bed (2), straightening means and manipulation gripper (3) to take the rail in the device, at least one positioning means (4), comprising a respective basin (5) or trough with cooling medium as well as a cooling bed (6), wherein at least two basins (5) with positioning means (4) are axially parallel arranged horizontally side by side at the same level, and portion of the cooling medium usable for hardening rails in the basin (5) has a depth, which exceeds the height of the largest rail profile by at least 10%, characterised in that discharge means for the cooling medium are arranged in the basin (5) and/or in the feed conduit which may be opened for short-term drain of the basin (5).
- Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the basin (5) at the side of the bottom comprises at least one cooling medium inlet per 1.5 basin length, through which a respective controlled cooling medium flow may be supplied, wherein preferably at least one plate (51), which is perforated or capable of being flown through, is arranged in the basin (5) above the cooling medium inlets in a sealed manner to it in a spaced way and/or a plate (52) having nozzles or having channels is postponed in flowing direction of the cooling medium is or are inserted.
