- the functional layer 14 is additionally switchable and coupled to an electrical energy source (not shown) to provide a somewhat adjustable light transmission characteristic.
- the vehicle window shown produces, for example, from sunlight falling in accordance with the arrows Ia a darkened or, in the case of a switchable functional layer 14, darkenable light with a dark blue hue.
- vehicle windows with functional layers 14 are known, which can be switched between a "clear”, translucent and a “matte” state, in which they produce a diffused white light without significant darkening.
- the functional layer 14 is usually formed as a film or applied to the outer layer 10 and the inner layer 12 by means of a coating process.
- a disadvantage of the known vehicle windows is the fact that even with vehicle windows with switchable trained functional layers 14, only the opacity or the transmittance can be influenced, the color and thus the transmitted part of the spectrum of the incident light, however, is predetermined.
- Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a vehicle window of the type mentioned and a motor vehicle with such a vehicle window, in which a more variable light transmission characteristic is enabled.
- a vehicle window which allows a more variable light transmission characteristic is inventively provided in that at least one further functional layer is provided, by means of which the light transmission characteristic of the vehicle window is additionally influenced.
- the vehicle window comprises at least two functional layers, whereby, in contrast to the prior art, an improved influencing of the degree of darkening or light transmission on the one hand and the coloring of the transmitted light on the other hand is made possible.
- This allows a much more flexible design of the vehicle window and improved adaptability to different purposes.
- the functional layers By interaction of the functional layers, specific wavelength ranges can be absorbed or reflected selectively from the spectrum of the incident light, as a result of which a light transmission characteristic with any desired coloration can be represented. Due to the improved influenceability of the coloration, a correspondingly improved customizability of the vehicle window as well as of a motor vehicle provided with the vehicle window is made possible. This allows an improved consideration of customer requirements and thus ensures increased customer satisfaction.
- the at least one functional layer is switchable and has an adjustable light transmission characteristic. This allows an additional increased variability of
- a functional layer permanently colored.
- Switchable glazings often have an undesirable color characteristic that can be changed or at least mitigated by another, colored functional layer.
- the functional layer may also be formed as a colored film. With the colored functional layers also customer requests can be operated individually.
- the outer layer and / or the inner layer itself is formed as a functional layer, can be dispensed with two or more between the outer layer and the inner layer disposed functional layers and the vehicle window in cross-section are made particularly compact and space-saving.
- the outer and / or the inner layer are colored in a color adapted to the light transmission characteristic of the further functional layer.
- two or more functional layers may be interposed between the outer layer and the inner layer to achieve a desired light transmission characteristic.
- At least two functional layers are arranged between the outer layer and the inner layer and form a multi-functional layer arrangement.
- the functional layers are reliably protected against mechanical damage, oxidation and the like.
- this compact arrangement of the functional layers reduces optical scattering and absorption losses, as a result of which a particularly precise selection of the wavelength ranges of the incident light to be transmitted is made possible.
- a preferably scratch-resistant and / or adhesive intermediate layer is arranged between the outer layer and one of the functional layers and / o ⁇ er between ⁇ Je ⁇ Inner layer and one of the functional layers and / or between at least two functional layers .
- a preferably scratch-resistant and / or adhesive intermediate layer is arranged between the outer layer and one of the functional layers and / o ⁇ er between ⁇ Je ⁇ Inner layer and one of the functional layers and / or between at least two functional layers.
- An adhesive intermediate layer allows bonding - for example by Laminating - the relevant functional layer, whereby a reliable cohesion of the layer composite is given and the vehicle window has a high stability
- the outer layer and / or the inner layer at least partially made of a glass, in particular a mineral glass, and / or made of a plastic / consists.
- the vehicle window can thereby be optimally adapted to their respective intended use and used, for example, as a window, safety, sound insulation, fire or fürt ⁇ ttshemmende disc
- this is designed as a windshield and / or as a side window and / or as a rear window and / or roof glazing and / or as a roof part of a top, in particular a folding top, for a motor vehicle
- This allows a particularly flexible use of the vehicle window, wherein the respectively desired Licht miclasstechnikscharakte ⁇ stik is particularly easy to adapt to the particular application.
