- the number of parts can be reduced by forming the first protector structural member 54 and the second protector structural member 63 in a single molding piece, such a molding piece can be a large part and thus handling thereof can be difficult.
- the first protector 51 that needs to cover the right side surface 24c of the muffler 24 is necessarily a large part.
- the end cap 53 that is only required to cover the rear end surface 24a of the muffler body 24 is a part smaller than the first protector 54.
- the synthetic resin member 65 made in such a manner that the end cap structural member 64 and the second structural member 63 are unitarily formed can be formed small. Work required to produce, transport, store, and so forth for such a small synthetic resin member 65 can be light.
- the tapered portion 62 of the first protector 51 and the distal end portion 71 a of the flat portion 71 of the second protector 52 are arranged to overlap with each other in the width direction Y1. As a result, no area in which the muffler body 24 is uncovered exists all over the entire region in the width direction Y1, between the first protector 51 and the second protector 52. Thus, the range in which the muffler body 24 is protected by the first and second protectors 51, 52 can be widened.
- the second protector 52 is positioned in the rear end portion 24b of the muffler body 24. Hence, the second protector 52 and the end cap 53 protect the rear end portion 24b of the muffler body 24 in collaboration with each other. The rear end portion 24b of the muffler body 24 can be more surely protected, accordingly.
- the second protector 52 is positioned outside of the first expansion chamber 45.
- the second protector 52 is narrower than the first protector 51 and uncovers the top area of the muffler body 24. Therefore, the heat of the first expansion chamber 45 can be efficiently radiated from the surface of the muffler body 24.
- the first expansion chamber 45 can be sufficiently protected without preventing the heat of the first expansion chamber 45 being radiated from the muffler body 24.
- the rear end surface 24a is surely covered by the end cap 53. Also, the exterior corresponding to the first and second catalysts 26, 27 which have the highest temperature is surely covered by the first protector 51.
- the distal end portion 71 a of the second protector 52 is supported at the most outside end of the right side surface 24c of the muffler body 24. Thereby, the support rigidity of the second protector 52 can be sufficiently kept. Also, because the second protector 52 is positioned at the most outside end, if there is an object approaching the muffler body 24, the protector 52 can surely receive the object before the muffler body 24. Hence, the muffler body 24 can be more surely protected.
- the fixing sections 92, 102, 114, 117, 119 positioned on the right side surface 24c of the muffler body 24 and the fixed sections 91, 101, 113, 116, 118 corresponding thereto and provided to the first protector 51 are joined to each other by the third bracket 93.
- the third bracket 93 has the cantilever 98.
- the first protector 51 is supported by the distal end portion 98a of the cantilever 98.
- the corresponding fixed sections 91, 101, 113, 116, 118 can be arranged at the positions spaced apart from the respective fixing sections 92, 102, 114, 117, 119. Therefore, a heat transmission route from the muffler body 24 to the first protector 51 can be longer.
- the flexibility in the arrangement of the respective fixing sections 92, 102, 114, 117, 119 of the muffler body 24 can be enhanced, and the flexibility in the arrangement of the respective fixed sections 91, 101, 113, 116, 118 of the first protector 51 can be enhanced.
- first and second protectors 51, 52 are individually made of a synthetic resin material.
- the first and second protectors 51, 52 can be produced by a method such as an injection molding which is suitable for mass production.
- the first and second protectors 51, 52 made of the synthetic resin material do not easily have a high temperature even when they receive heat from the muffler body 24.
- the motorcycle 1 and the muffler protector unit 9 that can sufficiently protect the muffler body 24 and also can improve the cooling performance of the muffler body 24 can be realized.
- one second protector 52 is provided as described in the above embodiment, a plurality of (for example, two) second protectors 52 can be provided as shown, for example, in FIG. 16 .
- the respective second protectors 52 can be arranged, for example, to line in the width direction Y1.
- one of the ribs 72, 73 of the second protector 52 or both thereof can be omitted.
- the second protector 52 and the end cap 53 can be separately formed.
- the second protector 52 can be positioned on a right side of the second expansion chamber 46.
- the second protector 52 can be placed at a central position of the muffler body 24 in the longitudinal direction X1.
- the end cap 53 can cover the entire area of the rear end surface 24a of the muffler body 24.
- the muffler body 24 and the muffler protector unit 9 can be symmetrically arranged on both right and left sides.

Claims (17)
- Véhicule (1) comprenant :un corps de silencieux tubulaire (24) qui est placé sur un côté d'un corps de véhicule (2) ;un couvercle d'extrémité (53) qui couvre une partie au moins d'une surface d'extrémité arrière (24a) du corps de silencieux (24) ;une première protection (51) qui couvre une partie au moins d'une surface latérale (24c) du corps de silencieux (24) et qui est placée sur un côté opposé du corps de silencieux (24) par rapport au corps de véhicule (2) ; etune seconde protection (52) ;caractérisé en ce que le seconde protection (52) est placée à l'arrière de la première protection (51) de manière à être espacée de celle-ci dans une direction longitudinale (X1) du corps de silencieux (24), couvre la surface latérale (24c) du corps de silencieux (24), ne couvre pas une zone supérieure (24d) du corps de silencieux (24), et est plus étroite que la première protection (51) dans une direction de largeur (Y1) normale à la direction longitudinale (X1) du corps de silencieux (24), sur une vue latérale.
- Véhicule (1) selon la revendication 1, étant précisé que la seconde protection (52) s'étend dans la direction longitudinale (X1) du corps de silencieux (24).
- Véhicule (1) selon la revendication 2, étant précisé que la seconde protection (52) comporte un élément en forme de barre (71, 72, 73).
- Véhicule (1) selon la revendication 3, étant précisé que l'élément en forme de barre (71, 72, 73) comporte une partie plate (71).
- Véhicule (1) selon la revendication 4, étant précisé que l'élément en forme de barre (71, 72, 73) comporte une nervure (72, 73) formée sur la partie plate (71) dans une direction longitudinale de l'élément en forme de barre (71, 72, 73).
- Véhicule (1) selon la revendication 4, étant précisé que l'élément en forme de barre (71, 72, 73) comporte une paire de nervures (72, 73) formées sur la partie plate (71) dans la direction longitudinale de l'élément en forme de barre (71, 72, 73).
- Véhicule (1) selon la revendication 6, étant précisé que la paire de nervures (72, 73) est formée le long des deux bords latéraux (71b, 71c), dans ladite direction de largeur, de la partie plate (71).
- Véhicule (1) selon l'une quelconque des revendications 5 à 7, étant précisé que la nervure ou chaque nervure (72, 73) fait saillie dans une direction dans laquelle elle s'éloigne du corps de silencieux (24).
- véhicule (1) selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 8, comprenant un élément structurel de seconde protection (63) pour structurer la seconde protection (52), et un élément structurel de couvercle d'extrémité (64) formé d'une seule pièce avec l'élément structurel de seconde protection (63) pour structurer le couvercle d'extrémité (53)
- Véhicule (1) selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 9, étant précisé qu'une partie d'extrémité (62) de la première protection (51) dans la direction longitudinale (X1) du corps de silencieux (24) et une partie d'extrémité (71a) de la seconde protection (52) dans la direction longitudinale (X1) du corps de silencieux (24) sont décalées l'une par rapport à l'autre pour se recouvrir dans la direction de largeur (Y1).
- Véhicule (1) selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 10, étant précisé que la seconde protection (52) est placée au niveau d'une partie d'extrémité arrière (24b) du corps de silencieux (24) dans la direction longitudinale (X1) du corps de silencieux (24).
- Véhicule (1) selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 11, étant précisé que le corps de silencieux (24) comprend une première chambre d'expansion (45) qui est définie à l'intérieur du corps de silencieux (24) et dans laquelle sont introduits les gaz d'échappement provenant d'un moteur (7) ; et une seconde chambre d'expansion (46) qui est définie à l'intérieur du corps de silencieux (24) pour communiquer avec la première chambre d'expansion (45), et
la seconde protection (52) est placée à l'extérieur de la première chambre d'expansion (45). - Véhicule (1) selon la revendication 12, comprenant le moteur (7) monté sur le corps de véhicule (2), étant précisé que le moteur (7), la seconde chambre d'expansion (46) et la première chambre d'expansion (45) sont alignés dans cet ordre, d'avant en arrière, le long du corps de véhicule (2).
- Véhicule (1) selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 13, comprenant une patte d'attache (93) qui relie entre elles une section de fixation (79) placée sur l'extrémité la plus extérieure de la surface latérale (24c) du corps de silencieux (24), et une section fixe (78) placée sur une partie de la seconde protection (52).
- Véhicule (1) selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 14, comprenant également une patte d'attache (93) qui relie entre elles une section de fixation (92, 102, 114, 117, 119) placée sur la surface latérale (24c) du corps de silencieux (24), et une section fixe (91, 101, 113, 116, 118) placée sur une partie de la première protection (51), étant précisé
que la patte d'attache (93) comprend une section de support (96) fixée à la surface latérale (24c) du corps de silencieux (24) ; et une partie en porte-à-faux (98) qui est supportée en porte-à-faux par la section de support (96), qui s'étend à partir de celle-ci le long d'une surface (24c) du corps de silencieux (24) et à la partie d'extrémité distale (98a) de laquelle est fixée la section fixe (91, 101, 113, 116, 118). - Véhicule (1) selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 15, étant précisé que la seconde protection (52) est formée avec un matériau en résine synthétique.
- Véhicule (1) selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 16, étant précisé que la seconde protection (52) comprend plusieurs secondes protections.
