In Figur 1 ist auf der linken Seite eine Walzhalle 1 in Walzrichtung und auf der rechten Seite eine Walzenwerkstatt 2 dargestellt. Beide Bereiche sind durch eine Wand 3 getrennt. In einem Walzgerüst 4 sind eine obere und eine untere Stützwalze 5, 6 sowie eine obere und eine untere Arbeitswalze 7, 8 angeordnet. Zum Transport aus dem Walzgerüst 4 in der Walzhalle 2 in die Walzenwerkstatt 2, um beispielsweise die Walzen nachzuschleifen, wird eine Lokomotive 9 ver- wendet. Diese befindet sich in einer Walzenwechselgrube 10, die die Walzhalle 1 und die Walzenwerkstatt 2 verbindet. Sämtliche Vorrichtungen wie Schienen usw. sind auf einem Fundament bzw. mehreren Fundamenten11 aufgebaut. Die Lokomotive 9 kann somit aus einer Warteposition 12 am rechten Ende der Walzenwechselgrube 10 zum Walzgerüst 4 hin bewegt werden. In den Figuren 1A und 1 B ist im Querschnitt dargestellt, wie die Lokomotive 9 in der Walzenwechselgrube 10 angeordnet ist. Wie ersichtlich, ist die Walzenwechselgrube 10 in einen unteren schmalen Bereich 16 und einen oberen breiten Bereich 17 unterteilt. Der untere schmale Bereich 16 ist nur unwesentlich breiter als die Lokomotive 9. Der obere breite Bereich 17 weist an seinen beiden Rändern 18, 19 Plattformen 20 auf. Diese sind beim Herausziehen bzw. Transport eines Arbeitswalzensatzes 7, 8 heruntergeklappt und weisen an ihrer Oberseite Führungsschienen 21 auf, auf denen der Arbeitswalzensatz 7, 8 bewegt werden kann. Die Plattformen 20 weisen einen Abstand auf, der eine an der Lokomotive 9 an der Oberseite 13 angebrachte Kuppelvorrichtung 14 ein durchfahren er- möglicht. Die auch als Side Shifting bezeichnete Vorrichtung sieht vor, dass der ausgebaute Arbeitswalzensatz, bestehend aus den Arbeitswalzen 7, 8, und ein neuer Arbeitswalzensatz 22 parallel nebeneinander auf einer Querverschiebeplattform 23 angeordnet werden können. In Figur 2A befindet sich der ausgebaute Arbeitswalzensatz auf der linken Seite. Die Verschiebeplattform 23 liegt dabei auf dem rechten und linken Rand der Walzenwechselgrube 10 auf. Zum Verschieben wird beispielsweise ein Hydraulikzylinder 28 mit Schubstange 25 verwendet. Die Verschiebeplattform 23 wird mittels mehrerer Laufrollen 24 auf Schienen 26 verfahren.
