Claims (7)

  1. Rolling mill with support plates (2, 2a, 2c), which are provided on the operating side (BS) of the stands (F1-Fi) and are displaceable transversely to the roll axes and which are equipped for reception of working roll sets (4) and adjoin the workshop floor (7) for transport to and away of the working rolls (4), and with pits (10), which are respectively arranged in front of the stands (F1-Fi) on the operating side (BS) and the base (11) of which is equipped for movement out for backing roii sets (9), characterised in that the support plates (2, 2a, 2c) are associated with a transport device (12) which transports the respective support plates (2, 2a, 2c) between a setting for working roll change, in which the support plates (2a) are arranged directly adjacent to the roll stands above the pits (10), and a setting for backing roll change, in which the support plates (2c) are arranged to be lowered below the workshop floor (7) adjacent to the pit region.
  2. Rolling mill according to claim 1, characterised in that the transport device (12) comprises an underneath carriage (13) with rollers (15), on which a support plate (2, 2a, 2c) is arranged to be transversely displaceable, and the rollers (15) co-operate with ramps (20) arranged at the base (11) of the respective pit (10), wherein the underneath carriage (13) is movable out of the position below the workshop floor (7) on the ramps (20) and thus into a raised position in the pit (10) and in the end setting the support plates (2a) are flush with the workshop floor (7) for working roll change.
  3. Rolling mill according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that a front and a rear roller pair (15a, 15b) of the underneath carriage (13) as well as corresponding ramp pairs (20a, 20b) are arranged to be offset relative to one another.
  4. Rolling mill according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the underneath carriage (13) co-operates with a piston-cylinder unit in order to be moved between the two settings.
  5. Rolling mill according to claim 4, characterised in that this piston-cylinder unit is the backing roll change piston-cylinder unit (23).
  6. Rolling mill according to claim 5, characterised in that for assisting the moving-up movement of the underneath carriage (13) on the ramp pairs (20a, 20b) the piston or a cross member (24), which prolongs the piston, of the backing roll change piston-cylinder unit (23) is connected with one end of a pushrod (25), which is arranged by its other end at the underneath carriage (13), in particular centrally.
  7. Rolling mill according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that adjacent support plates (2) are arranged in working roll change setting to loosely abut one another and are displaceable in their entirety in either one or the other direction along the support plate line (1) by means of two displacing units (26a, 26b) respectively arranged at the ends of the support plate line (1).
