- the result is a chelate, the structure of which is different from that of the present invention in that the carbonyl group is bond-free (the ninhydrin reaction test can be observed in the figure) and in no case does this invention relate to chelates (column 2, lines 57-64).
- the North American patent US 5885610 in column 1 lines 16-26 discloses derivatives of essential amino acids, such as lysine and methionine with calcium and magnesium salts that are not metabolised by the bacteria of the rumen and pass to the intestine where they are absorbed. This is a method to protect the essential amino acids lysine and methionine from degradation in the rumen; it can also be seen in column 4 lines 48-64 that this is a chelate of Calcium or Magnesium, 1, in a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2.
- the calcium or magnesium ions are electrostatically bound to the carbonyl group of the amino acid and in a coordinated or covalent way with the NH 2 group.
- This application only uses calcium and magnesium salts as these have sufficient coordination strength to avoid degradation in the rumen.
- the patent discloses the administration of additional supplements to the diet of animals.
- North American patent US 6071545 discloses nutritional administration and use in diets of nursing animals and the therapeutic value of complexes of metals with oligopeptides, based on the carboxylic amino groups binding the metal.
- North American patent US 5061815 protects metal complexes of lysine, of the form [Lys] m - n (M)y Xz, where M is a metal ion, such as Fe, Cu, Mn, Co, m is the valency of the metal ion, n is a whole number less than m, y and z are integers selected to electrostatically balance the cationic and anionic charges of the metal lysine complex, X is an anion that can be hydroxide, chloride, sulphate, phosphate, carbonate or acetate, where the lysine has a molar ratio of 0.5 to 4 with respect to the metal.
- the procedure is carried out at a temperature of between 20 and 100 degrees centigrade.
- the product produced is a selenium amino acid where the amino acid may be lysine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and Valine; they also disclose the complex that is formed in the solution of these salts on adding selenomethionine, which forms an aqueous solution that is converted into a powder by absorbtion with a product, such as silica gel or dicalcium phosphate, where a complex of an anion in the form of selenomethionine with metal salts is claimed; on the other hand, in the case of this invention, glycine and alpha-aminoacetic acid are used as the main elements in the formation of complexes where products of chelate-type structures are not found.
