Definitions
- plugs for producing an electrical connector are known. They essentially comprise a plug housing and a contact carrier received by the plug housing.
- the contact carrier has contact chambers which can be equipped with contact elements.
- the contacts engage in the contact chambers. This is often done by a protruding from the contact locking lance, which is compressed upon insertion of the contact element into the contact chamber and jumps in the end position of the contact within the contact chamber and then locked in an undercut.
- the locking lance has a relatively narrow shape, which is issued from the contact element.
- a region of the contact element has a latching means, which allows latching of the contact element within the contact chamber.
- the respective latching means is compressed, while the contact element is inserted into the contact chamber.
- the contact element is first inserted through a usually provided sealing mat before the contact element is completely inserted into the contact chamber and reaches the desired end position, either spring-supported or due to a sliding element, the locking means pops up and locked in an undercut.
- the locking means which is designed as a locking lance, in this case has a relatively narrow, pointed shape, which is issued from the contact element.
- EP 1 215 763 A1 shows a contact socket having a detent spring tongue for locking in a chamber of a housing.
- EP 0 208 185 A2 discloses the preamble of claim 1.
- contact elements with locking lances known from the prior art have the disadvantage that they easily damage by their pointed shape, usually made of rubber sealing mat of a connector when fitting the connector and especially when disassembling the contact element. This in turn means that the connector is not made fluid-tight and thus the function of the connector may be affected.
- the object of the invention is to avoid at least one of the above disadvantages of the thus formed contact elements.
- the basic idea of the invention is that the latching of the contact element with the contact chamber in the inserted state into the contact chamber is made by a part of the contact element, but in the not yet introduced state in the contact chamber of the body of the contact element has a smooth outer geometry.
- the locking lance essentially comprises a head element, which is arranged on the side facing away from the contact chamber of the contact element and is displaceable transversely to the insertion direction.
- the invention has at least the advantage that it combines the intrinsically advantageous properties of locking with a locking lance (latching via a permanently elastic metal part on the contact element) with those of the clean-body construction (smooth outer geometry of the contact without protruding parts).
- the contact elements designed according to the invention can be assembled in a very simple manner, since it is avoided that these interlock with each other and thus the cable assembler can start directly with the contacting or insertion of the contact elements into the contact chambers.
- the preferred embodiment of the invention advantageously has a locking lance, which consists of a permanently elastic metal part. It is designed such that it preferably forms an integral part with the rest of the contact element. This avoids that, in particular, as known from the prior art, occur fatigue or relaxation phenomena for plastic parts.
- the locking lance for the contact element is designed such that in the inserted state within the contact chamber, the head element of the locking lance releases a defined free space into which a secondary locking of the connector can be inserted. If the locking by the locking lance is not done within the contact chamber, then this space is not released, and the secondary lock can not be in to transfer their locked position. This has the advantage that a final check can be made in a very simple manner, whether the locking connection, caused by the locking lance with the contact chamber, has been performed properly.
- the invention has the advantage that the contact chamber for receiving the contact element according to the invention is simple to design. It has within the contact chamber on a rib, which is covered by a groove which is provided in the contact element.
- the rib extends over a portion of the Lärigserstreckung the contact chamber and forms a ramp on which slides off the head element.
- the ramp is advantageously already provided before an opening provided in the contact chamber undercut. This causes the head element is pressed against the wall of the contact chamber before reaching this undercut, such that advantageously bake the side walls of the contact element and thereby creates a resilient bias for the head element. By this resilient bias, the head element snaps into this when entering the undercut and locked there. Due to the opposite. Dercutting rib, the head element can not return to its original position.
- FIG. 1 schematically a contact element 1 is shown.
- the contact element 1 consists of a contact region 2 and a fastening region, not shown in detail in the figures, to which an electrical line can be hit.
- the contact area 2 is in cross section, as in the FIGS. 2 and 3 is shown, box-shaped and has at its one end 3 an opening which serves to receive a mating contact in the execution of a so-called knife to produce an electrical plug connection between a plug and a mating connector.
- the inner region of the contact part in which the actual connection to the knife takes place via, for example, contact blades, is not shown.
- the contact region 2 furthermore comprises the latching lance 4 designed according to the invention and a groove 5 (FIG. 5) arranged in the contact region 2 (FIG. FIG. 2 ).
- the locking lance 4 is formed as part of the contact element 1 and hinged thereto tongue-like. Two mutually parallel slots 6 cause the locking lance 4 at least in the direction of arrow 7 according to FIG. 2 is movable.
- the locking lance 4 comprises a head element 8, which is formed square in the embodiment shown here. According to the invention, it is provided that the head element 8 always corresponds in its outer dimensions to the remaining contact region 2 of the contact element 1, so that no protruding elements interfere with the insertion of the contact element 1 into a contact chamber.
- the contact element 1, as it is in the FIGS. 2 to 3 is shown, when inserted into a contact chamber has a smooth outer contour, although it contains a cooperating with the contact chamber locking lance.
- FIG. 4 is in three representations (A, B and C) the stepwise insertion of the contact element 1 according to the invention Figure 1 to 3 shown.
- the inventively formed contact element 1 as shown in Figure A is introduced in its so-called initial state, in which the outer contour of the locking lance 4 with the outer contour of the other contact element 1, in a contact chamber 9 in the direction of the arrow S.
- the contact chamber 9 is formed such that it has a clear width 10 which is slightly larger than the width 11 of the contact element 1 according to FIG. 1 , Furthermore, the contact chamber 9, at least in a partial region, a rib 12, which in the state shown here with the also in FIG. 2 shown groove 5 of the contact element 1 cooperates.
- the contact element 1 is inserted into the contact chamber 9 in the direction of the arrow S until the head element 8 contacts the beginning of the rib 12 beginning in the direction of the arrow S.
- the head element 8 is formed over the entire surface and thus covers the groove 5 of the remaining contact element 1 is caused by a ramp-like formation 13 of the rib 12 within the contact chamber 9 that the head element 8 of the locking lance 4 is moved in the direction of arrow 7 (shown in illustration B I ), while the contact element 1 is further guided in the direction of the arrow S.
- the ramp-like formation 13 is arranged within the contact chamber 9 such that the deflection of the locking lance 4 already happens at the time before the locking lance 4 reaches a provided within the contact chamber 9 undercut 14.
- This leads to increased safety against ingress although it is necessary that the deflection of the locking lance 4 in the direction of arrow 7 takes place such that in particular in the transition region in which the locking lance 4 still slides on the inner wall of the contact chamber 9 from penetrating into the undercut 14, a mechanical stress acts on the contact element 1. This becomes so noticeable that the mechanical stress is absorbed by bulging of the side walls of the locking lance 4 (shown in illustration B II ).
- FIG. 4 Illustration C as well as in FIG. 5 the use of a secondary lock 16 and the interaction of the secondary lock 16 with the contact element 1 already arranged in the undercut 14.
- FIG. 5 (Representation A and B) shows a plan view of the head element 8, latched behind the undercut 14 and the secondary latch 16, once in the open position (illustration A) and in the closed position (illustration B).
- FIG. 5 the illustration of the sliding plate 17 of the secondary latch 16 is shown, it being understood that by moving the sliding plate 17 in the direction of arrow 19, the area 18 is occupied by the corresponding displacement plate 17 and on the surface of the contact element 1 comes to rest, so that through the Mating plug acting plug forces do not lead to the displacement of the contact element 1 within the contact chamber 9.
- FIG. 6 an alternative representation of the contact element 1 'shown. It is different from the one in FIG. 1 illustrated embodiment in that the head element 8 'has a run-on slope 21, which should result in a corresponding training for disassembly. This ensures that the sealing mat, which is usually made of rubber, little damaged is, and it is also achieved that in itself the sharp edges of the sheet metal bending part, as they arise, for example, in the area 20, thereby covered.
- the inventive design provides the ability to simultaneously provide a secondary lock 16, which also forms control functions for the correct execution of the primary lock within the contact chamber 9 in addition to the lock.

Abstract
Description

- In
- In
- In
