Claims (4)

  1. A device for hinging a cover or lid (2) to a frame (1), in particular for a manhole, comprising a male hinging member (4) secured to the cover, mounted with limited rotation in a housing (5) formed in the frame (1) to allow the cover (2) to pivot between a position closing off the frame (1) and an upright position relative to the frame (1) in which it is maintained to access the opening of the frame (1), the male hinging member (4) being able to be chosen to be mounted either removably in the housing (5) of the frame (1) to allow the cover (2) to be removed from the frame (1) in the upright position of the cover (2), or secured in its housing (5) of the frame (1) in order to make the cover (2) inseparable from the frame (1), characterized in that the male hinging member (4) comprises a cylindrical barrel (7) with a piercing (9) embedded in the housing (5) of the frame (1) configured in a yoke, in that a hinge pin (8), with a diameter smaller than the piercing (9) of the cylindrical barrel (7), can be inserted through the cylindrical barrel (7) and the yoke and be fastened inseparably to the yoke by its ends respectively fastened to the two parallel walls (10) of the yoke in order to secure the cylindrical barrel (7) to the yoke and make the cover (2) inseparable from the frame (1), in that when the hinge pin (8) is not present, the cylindrical barrel (7) is removably embedded in the yoke to allow the cover (2) to be removed from the frame (1) in the upright position thereof, and in that the means for keeping the cover (2) in its upright position comprise two lugs (16) secured to the ends of the cylindrical barrel (7) perpendicular thereto and protruding from a same side in the same longitudinal median plane of the barrel (7) and being able to be embedded by gravity in the upright position of the cover (2) in two respective recesses (17) of the bottom of the housing (5) of the frame (1), whether the cylindrical barrel (7) is secured to the yoke or removably embedded in the yoke.
  2. The device according to claim 1, characterized in that the ends of the hinge pin (8) are fastened by welding to the two parallel walls (10) of the yoke, respectively.
  3. The device according to claim 1 or 2, in which the cover (2) and the frame (1) are circular, characterized in that the cylindrical barrel (7) is connected to the cover (2) by a radial post (12) such that the barrel (7) and the post (12) have a T-shaped configuration.
  4. The device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cover (2) occupies an upright position of approximately 90° relative to the frame (1).
