This is because the hydraulic pressure induced by the hydraulic cylinder 11 that opens the lid set 13 is what generates the piloting hydraulic pressure liberating the hydraulic flow to open the telescopic cylinder.

The lid set must drive this directional valve mechanically and/or electrically 13. When this lid set 13 is closed the pilot line of the piloted retention valve 20 must be connected to the hydraulic oil tank.
