Definitions
- the invention is based on a reflector high-pressure discharge lamp consisting of a gas-tight discharge vessel made of quartz glass with two diametrically attached to the shell of the discharge piston necks, in each of which an electrode made of tungsten is sealed gastight over a sealing film, with a filling of at least one noble gas, possibly Metal halides and possibly mercury and a reflector for collecting and focusing the light emitted from the discharge vessel light with holes for holding the discharge vessel and passing power supply lines and with a cover of a light transparent medium.
- the reflector high-pressure discharge lamp has a discharge vessel with short electrode spacings, as used for data projectors and rear projection televisions or the like.
- the discharge vessel heats up to around 1000 ° C outside the discharge space.
- the temperature in the sealing sections of the discharge vessel is about 500 ° C lower.
- the problem is the part of the electrical power supply, which is not melted in the glass and comes into contact with air.
- These power supplies consist of molybdenum wire. From a temperature of 400 ° C but molybdenum corrodes. The cause of the corrosion lies in the oxidation of molybdenum with atmospheric oxygen. As a result, relatively many lamps fail during the lifetime.
- the sealing portion of the piston necks relatively long (> 20 mm). This lowers the temperature around the molybdenum power supply wire but severely limits the lamp design.
- the temperature of the molybdenum wire at the end of the sealing portion of the discharge vessel decreases with increasing distance from the discharge space. To lower the temperature so the sealing section and the molybdenum foil can be extended. With low lamp powers (100 - 120 W), this procedure is still sufficient. At higher lamp powers (200 - 250 W) this is no longer the case.
- an active cooling is necessary, as can be achieved for example by an air flow, with the associated disadvantage of noise.
- often outside slots are milled into the reflector to allow by means of forced cooling a direct air flow. In some cases, however, the reflector geometry does not allow longer discharge vessels. With a shortening of the discharge vessel, however, the temperature rises too high.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a reflector high-pressure discharge lamp, in which an oxidation of the power supply lines is prevented.

- the filling of the space between the reflector and the discharge vessel consists of a high-voltage dielectric gas, preferably of pure nitrogen. Apart from nitrogen, the filling of the space between the reflector and the discharge vessel can also consist of sulfur hexafluoride. Preferably, inert gas mixtures are also possible whose main constituents are nitrogen and / or sulfur hexafluoride and whose minor constituents are noble gases.

Abstract
