Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a portable modular wireless identification transmitter for driving, in particular for opening and / or closing accesses such as doors, gates, etc. from a distance, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a portable modular wireless identification transmitter for driving, in particular for opening and / or closing accesses such as doors, gates, etc. from a distance, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such an identification transmitter is known from EP-A-1 065 791 known.
  • the invention further relates to a wireless access control system for at least one access such as a door or gate, the access control system comprising a lock for access and a reader associated with the access and, upon receipt of a valid identification code, driving the lock to access open, and wherein the access control system comprises a portable modular wireless identification transmitter.
  • An access control system as used herein means a system that controls a single access. Under an access control system in the present context, a plurality of such access control systems are understood, which are based on the same technology. This will be explained below.
  • Such access control systems and systems are used for example in larger office and corporate complexes. They allow access to persons residing in the complex exclusively to those spatial areas for which they are authorized.
  • locking systems are used for this purpose.
  • mechanical locks of the same locking technology are used within an office complex.
  • the keys are coded so that a mechanical key usually provides exclusive access to a particular office area.
  • all keys usually provide access to common areas within the office complex. This simple way of distinguishing can be branched arbitrarily. For example, it is possible that all employees of a company have access to the company premises within an office complex. However, only the accountant and the business owner have a key that provides additional access to the accounting room.
  • a batteryless passive transponder as a key fob or - tower is known by the present applicant under the name "Clip Tac".
  • passive transponders are also known in the form of credit card sized iso-transponder cards, in which a module is kept interchangeable (DE 199 56 137 A1).
  • Both locking media are passive transponders. These have an antenna coil and a chip coupled to the antenna coil. By means of a read signal, a voltage can be induced in the antenna coil. The voltage is used by the chip to read out an identification code stored thereon and modulate it to a signal. The modulated signal is then radiated by the induced energy and read by a reader.
  • Such passive transponders can be read over distances of a few centimeters to about 20 to 30 cm.
  • Access control systems and systems based on transponders are available on the market based on different technologies. Depending on the technology, identification codes of different numbers of bits, different transmission and reception frequencies, different transmission and reception protocols, etc. are used. These different “technologies” are not compatible with each other. This means that the transponders of one technology can not be read by readers of another technology, and vice versa.
  • an identification transmitter carried by a driver of a motor vehicle is generally designed as an active transmitter.
  • the identification transmitter therefore usually has an electric battery for power supply, a battery powered chip and an antenna.
  • the driver of the motor vehicle must press a button on the identification transmitter to initiate a process in which the identification code stored on the chip is sent. If its motor vehicle is in the transmission range of the identification transmitter, the identification code is received by the vehicle, checked for correctness and then access to the motor vehicle is granted. This is usually done by unlocking the central locking.
  • a passive transponder is frequently also arranged in the identification transmitter.
  • the passive transponder is then read by a reading device in the motor vehicle, which can be arranged, for example, in the region of the ignition lock.
  • the ignition and other electrical systems of the motor vehicle remain locked, even if, for example, the central locking system is open, until a valid transponder is read.
  • the identification transmitter is designed as an active transponder, but is normally in a sleep mode. From the motor vehicle then a wake-up signal is sent at regular intervals. As soon as the driver of the motor vehicle with the identification transmitter is in the transmission range of the motor vehicle, the identification transmitter is "awakened” and in turn sends his identification code to the motor vehicle. In the vehicle then the central locking is unlocked.
  • wireless access control systems can also be combined with the immobilizer.
  • the immobilizer is automatically released by unlocking the central locking.
  • the access control systems with active identification encoders are not compatible with each other.
  • the technologies used differ from vehicle brand to vehicle brand.
  • the access control systems with active identifiers are not compatible with access control systems using passive identification transmitters.
  • a portable modular wireless identification transmitter for driving, in particular for opening and / or closing accesses such as doors, gates, etc. from a distance with the features of claim 1.
  • a wireless access control system for at least one access such as a door or gate, the access control system comprising an access lock and reader associated with the access and driving the lock upon receipt of a valid identification code to open the access, and wherein the access control system comprises at least one portable modular identification transmitter of the type described above.
  • the present invention makes it possible to use a single physical identifier for different access control technologies.
  • a system module based on a specific access control technology can be used in one and the same physical identification transmitter.
  • another system module based on another access control technology may be used.
  • the identification transmitter is therefore modular.
  • the fixed components in the identification transmitter, such as control device and transmitter, are designed to be used for different access control technologies.
  • the identification transmitter can be used depending on the system module used to control accesses of different access control systems.
  • the identification transmitter is adapted to establish a bidirectional communication with the reading device, whereby the security can be increased.
  • control device periodically queries whether the receiving device has received an activation signal and, upon receipt of an activation signal, reads the identification code of at least one system module and activates the transmission device in order to send the identification code.
  • control device is in the idle state in a "sleep mode" and is “awakened” by receiving an activation signal. Subsequently, the control device sends an identification code.
  • the activation signal is generally sent by a reading device to the access to be controlled.
  • the control device recognizes in dependence on the receiving activation signal, which contained identification code is to be sent. Accordingly, the controller then controls only the "addressed" system module to send the identification code.
  • the activation signal triggers the transmission of an identification code from a memory firmly contained in the housing.
  • an antenna which forms the transmitting device and / or the receiving device is fixedly arranged in the housing.
  • the antenna can be a coil in the simplest case and serve as a transmitting and receiving coil.
  • the housing has a plurality of receptacles for receiving a respective different system module.
  • a separate recording is provided for the system modules of different technologies. This is advantageous insofar as the respective recordings can be exactly matched to the respective different system modules.
  • the identification transmitter is designed to be particularly variable and in particular makes it possible to simultaneously record different system modules of different access control technologies.
  • the identification transmitter serves as a wireless "key" both for the owner's vehicle and for his office space.
  • This example can be extended arbitrarily.
  • the same identification transmitter can be used when receiving appropriate system modules to unlock a second vehicle and / or the front door of the household of the owner and lock.
  • a receptacle is adapted to accommodate different system modules.
  • At least one system module has an integrated control and transmission device and has no connection to the central control or transmission device.
  • the modular identification transmitter accordingly offers the possibility of also including those system modules which are not compatible with the internal control and / or transmission device. As a result, the variability of the identification transmitter is further increased.
  • an identification code of an access control system is stored in a system module which is fixedly arranged in the housing.
  • the identification transmitter is basically assigned to an access control system and can be modularly expanded by the inclusion of system modules of other access control systems.
  • the identification code which is stored in the memory permanently arranged in the housing, may be the identification code of an access control system of a building or of a motor vehicle.
  • system modules for example, for another vehicle and / or a system module for another access control system, this can be an identification transmitter expand so modular.
  • the housing has a receptacle for an energy storage, e.g. Battery or accumulator, on.
  • an energy storage e.g. Battery or accumulator
  • This measure also makes it possible to use the identification transmitter for access control technologies that use active identification transmitters.
  • an interface for charging a used in the recording, rechargeable battery is provided on the housing.
  • the identification transmitter can be used for example in the private household of the owner in a suitable charging cradle. Alternatively, it is also possible that the charging process via the battery of the motor vehicle, for example, when the identification transmitter is connected to a charging port in the motor vehicle. If the identification transmitter also has a mechanical key (see below), the metal-formed key can form the charging interface.
  • an interface for connection to a programming medium e.g., computer
  • a programming medium e.g., computer
  • control device has program-controlled blocking means, by means of which individual system modules can be blocked, so that their stored identification code is not sent.
  • This measure has the advantage that the identification transmitter can be locked with respect to the recorded system modules, without having to physically remove the system modules.
  • the identification transmitter is handed over by its owner to a third party, for example a motor vehicle workshop.
  • the owner can lock the identification transmitter with respect to, for example, a system module for his private household, so that unauthorized access is prevented from the outset.
  • program-controlled blocking means can be effected in particular by a computer which can be connected to the control device via a suitable interface on the housing.
  • a receptacle for a release module is provided on the housing and at least one system module is disabled, so that its stored identification code is not sent when the release module is not included.
  • the release module can be used to lock or unlock all additionally recorded system modules.
  • At least one actuating element which is connected to the control device, is provided on the outside of the housing, the control device, upon actuation of the actuating element, reading the identification code of at least one system module and actuating the transmitting device in order to transmit the identification code.
  • the transmission of the identification code is followed by active intervention of the owner. It is possible that the actuation of the actuating element causes all identification codes are sent, which are located in the identification transmitter. This can be done serially, for example. Alternatively, for each one or more of the identification codes each have its own actuator can be provided.
  • At least one mechanical key is movably, in particular pivotably, mounted on the housing between a projecting closed position and a rest position resting against the housing.
