After the winding of the secondary wire 22 has ended, it is guided through a bore 23 into the contacting region 20 and wound further until it reaches a groove 24 and a pin 25. The free end of the secondary wire 22 is tied to the pin 25.
- a contact sleeve 26 shown in FIGS. 4 to 7 is now slipped over the contact area 20.
- This contact sleeve 26 has at least one axial slot 27, which preferably does not extend over the entire length.
- at least one contact tab 28 is provided on the circumferential surface of the contact sleeve 26, which are provided for making contact with the secondary winding 22 in the contact area 20 on the side of the high-voltage outlet H. - the contact sleeve 26 is designed in such a way that it reaches a press fit immediately after being pulled over the contact area, so that the contact sleeve 26 is prevented from falling off again.
- This assembly formed from the ignition coil rod 3 and contact sleeve 26, is now, as shown in FIG. 4, mounted in the high-voltage outlet H of the ignition coil housing 2.
- the ignition coil housing 2 has a cup-like configuration 30 for receiving the free end of the ignition coil rod 3.
- a recess 31 is provided to receive the pin 25 of the ignition coil rod 3.
- the cup-like configuration 30 of the ignition coil housing 2 ensures that the contact tabs 28 of the contact sleeve 26 are pressed in a defined manner in the direction of an arrow 32 (FIG. 4).
- the insulation layer of the secondary wire 22 is broken through and permanent electrical contact is made.
- the free wire end of the secondary wire 22, which is wound on the pin 25, dips into the recess 31.
- the stop 29, which is arranged on the side of the ignition coil rod 3, rests on a shoulder 33 on the side of the ignition coil housing 2.
