Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector for a fuel pump with a receptacle in which a plug is arranged with electrical contacts for connecting an electric motor of a fuel pump to a power grid, wherein the plug is molded with plastic.
- Such fittings are used in fuel pumps of today's motor vehicles to complete a common housing of the electric motor and a pump stage and are known in practice (see, eg Application GB-A-2,292,267 ).
- the electrical contacts are inserted through the openings provided in the connector.
- a arranged in the region of the electrical contacts sealing ring prevents the escape of fuel. This makes it possible that the delivery pressure generated by the fuel pump can be held by the connector and fed to a connection piece of a supply line.
- a disadvantage of the known connection piece the cost of the sealing ring and its installation.
- damage to the plastic connector may occur during assembly of the connector by the electrical contacts.
- the invention is based on the problem of designing a connector of the type mentioned above so that it is particularly easy to manufacture and assemble.
- the plug is a one-piece molded, circumferential sealing lip be-sitting.
- the sealing lip is manufactured with the plastic extrusion of the connector in one step.
- connection piece according to the invention does not require a sealing ring for sealing off the plug and thus particularly few components to be mounted. An encapsulation of the plug to its seal against adjacent components of the connector according to the invention is not required.
- the connector according to the invention can therefore be manufactured particularly easily.
- a good seal of the plug in the connection piece is achieved if the sealing lip is arranged in the region of the passage of the electrical contacts on the plug.
- the sealing lip has a pointing in the direction of the electrical contacts area.
- Such an orientation of the sealing lip has the advantage that the sealing lip is deformed during assembly of the plug in the connector. An elastic deformation of the sealing lip also causes the sealing lip is in the assembled state under bias, thereby increasing the sealing effect.
- the plug with a Transition or interference fit is arranged in a recess of the receptacle.
- the pre-assembly of the plug in the receptacle is particularly simple according to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, when the receptacle and the plug have mutually corresponding locking means.
- the locking means thus serve as an assembly aid for the plug.
- the connector known from practice has an inserted bearing bush made of metal for supporting a shaft of the electric motor of the fuel pump.
- a bearing bush made of metal for supporting a shaft of the electric motor of the fuel pump.
- cup-shaped recess is arranged. As a result, it is no longer necessary to insert and fasten a separately manufactured bearing bush in the connecting piece according to the invention.
- An integration of a plurality of components in the connector according to the invention can be achieved easily, if in addition to the recording two guides for connected to the plug brushes of the electric motor are arranged.
- the connecting piece according to the invention can be produced in a particularly cost-effective manner from injection-molded plastic and can be easily demolded from the injection mold when the receptacle, the guides and the cup-shaped recess are arranged parallel to one another.
- Corrosion of connections of electrical lines can be reliably avoided according to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, when the plug has a plastic extrusion and when the plastic encapsulation encloses connections of the electrical contacts with leading to the brush lines.
- An electrostatic charge of the connector according to the invention can be avoided with a particularly low structural complexity when a projecting from the plug grounding conductor is led to a lower, provided for connection to a housing of the electric motor edge of the connector.
- FIG. 1 shows a fuel pump with a driven by an electric motor 1 pumping stage 2 of a motor vehicle and with a mounted on a housing 3 connector 4.
- the connector 4 has a connecting piece 5 for leading to an internal combustion engine of the motor vehicle flow line. Furthermore, the connector 4 has electrical contacts 6 for the electric motor 1 of the fuel pump.
- FIG. 2 shows the connector 4 FIG. 1 in an enlarged partial section.
- the electrical contacts 6 are arranged on a plug 7.
- the plug 7 is molded with a plastic jacket 8, from the choke coils 9 and two brushes 10 for a collector of the electric motor 1 from FIG. 1 protrude.
- the brushes 10 are guided in elongated guides of the connecting piece 4 and by means of a spring element in the direction of in FIG. 1 biased shown electric motor 1.
- the plug 7 is held by latching means 11 in a receptacle 12 of the connector 4 and penetrates with an edge 13 of a recess 14 of the connector 4.
- the connector 4 has in its center a cup-shaped recess for direct storage of a shaft of the electric motor 1.
- a grounding conductor 16 is guided from the plug 7 to the lower edge of the fitting 4.
- FIG. 3 shows greatly enlarged the area of the edge 13 of the plug 7 and the recess 14 of the connector 4. It can be seen that the plastic jacket 8 of the plug 7 is directly above its edge 13 with the recess 14 of the connector 4 in contact. On the plastic jacket 8 of the plug 7, a circumferential sealing lip 17 is integrally formed in the region of the electrical contacts 6. The sealing lip 17 has a region 18 which points in the direction of the electrical contacts 6, so that the sealing lip 17 is in the mounted state with the connection piece 4 in connection.
- an overpressure which acts on the plug 7 and thus on the sealing lip 17 and thus biases the sealing lip 17 against the connector 4.
- the edge 13 of the plug 7 and the connector 4 are made of a plastic swellable with plastic and have a transition fit or interference fit.
- the plug 7 is inserted for mounting in the receptacle 12 of the connector 4 until the locking means 11 hold the plug 7 in position.
- the edge 13 and the recess 14 swell and thus additionally seal the plug 7 against the connection piece 4.

Description
- Figur 1:
- schematisch eine Kraftstoffpumpe mit einem erfindungsgemäßen Anschlussstück,
- Figur 2:
- das erfindungsgemäße Anschlussstück aus
