Definitions

  • the invention relates to a closure cap, which is provided in particular for closing an oil filter connection to motor vehicle engines.
  • DE 826 557 C describes a screw cap for containers, wherein the cover consists of a cover plate with a vertically projecting edge, which is provided on the circumference with threaded portions between which corrugations or cuts are provided so that the lid edge within certain limits for in diameter different threads of a container neck can be used.
  • the invention has the object of providing a cap in such a way that threaded nozzles of different diameters can be reliably sealed.
  • a cap according to claim 1 Because an elastically expandable nut element is inserted into the closure cap, the closure cap can be screwed onto threaded nozzles of different diameters, so that only one closure cap needs to be provided for different vehicle types.
  • the approximately hat-shaped cap 1 is preferably made of plastic and has a flange portion 2, which comes to rest on a surface surrounding the threaded connector 3 3a. On the flange portion 2, a ring seal 4 is provided, which seals the screws after unscrewing the cap 1 on the threaded connector 3 against leakage of oil.
  • a nut element 5 in the form of a spring clip shown in FIG. 2 is inserted in diametrically opposed grooves extending in the axial direction and has an elastically expandable threaded engagement section 6 on diametrically opposite spring arms 7.
  • the free ends of the spring arms 7 are bent inwardly to beveled surfaces 8, which merge into a horizontal portion 9 which extends radially outward.
  • a portion 10 is in each case bent inwardly, which also extends approximately horizontally and is slightly inclined relative to the longitudinal axis, so that the free edge of the portion 10 corresponds to a portion of a thread.
  • the edge of the portion 10 in the view along the axis of the cap is designed arcuate.
  • the sealing of the threaded neck 3 can be formed by inserting a sealing ring on the inside of the closure cap 1, for example in the region of the web 5 'of the spring clip be.
  • the seal is provided on the outside of the cap on the flange portion 2 in the form of the ring seal 4, so that the seal is independent of the diameter of the threaded connector 3 and the elastically expandable nut member 5 is not hindered in its function.
  • a nut element instead of a two-armed spring clip 5, a nut element may be provided which has a plurality of circumferentially distributed, elastically deformable arms which are provided with one or more engagement portions.
  • the web portion 5 'of the approximately U-shaped from a strip of spring material shaped spring clips can be used for attachment of the spring clip in the cap, for example by riveting or gluing.
  • the arms 7 of the spring clip are additionally guided in longitudinal grooves 16 (FIG. 4) on the inner circumference of the closure cap, so that they are non-rotatably connected thereto.
  • a hexagonal shoulder 11 may be formed so that a tool for screwing the cap can be attached.
  • FIG. 3 schematically shows a plastic clip whose diametrically opposite arms 7 triangular ribs 12 which can be pressed radially outward in the arrow direction to engage the thread.
  • Fig. 7 shows an embodiment with a spring clip 5, wherein the threaded engagement portion 10 is formed by an angling of the free edge of the inclined surface 8.
  • Fig. 4 shows in a partial longitudinal section a plastic cap 13 along the line II in Fig. 5, in which at the outer edge of the flange portion 2, a sealing lip 4 'made of plastic is formed. Instead of the sealing lip 4 ', an O-ring can be inserted into a groove of the plastic.
  • a recess 14 on the inside for inserting the spring clip 5 is designated.
  • 15 plastic protrusions are at opposite locations in this recess 14 denotes, on which the web portion 5 'of the spring clip engages by pressing in, so that a separate connecting element is not required.
  • Fig. 6 shows in a rotated by 45 ° sectional view along the line II-II in Fig. 5 diametrically opposite plastic lips 17, which serve only for centering a threaded nozzle with a smaller diameter.
  • plastic lips 17 When placed on a threaded connector with a smaller diameter, these plastic lips 17 are pushed aside, and they can break away. They serve only as an insertion aid.
  • the cylindrical interior designated by 18 is designed so that it can accommodate the largest diameter of a threaded nozzle.
  • the engagement portions 8, 10 of the spring arms 7 in the grooves 16 extend into the cylindrical cavity 18, so that they can also engage with a threaded connector of smaller diameter.
  • Fig. 7 to 9 show a preferred embodiment of a closure cap, wherein on the inside of the transverse to the longitudinal axis end wall 24 of the plastic cap 13, a pin 25 is formed, on which the spring clip 5 is attached.
  • the spring clip has a bore for receiving the pin 25 on the web section 5 '.
  • a latching connection is provided so that the plugged onto the pin 25 spring clip can not fall out during handling of the cap.
  • a round pin to provide a polygonal cross-section of the pin, so that in addition to the holding function and a rotation of the spring clip is achieved relative to the cap.
  • the spring clip is secured by the spring arms 7 in the grooves 16 against rotation relative to the cap.
  • Fig. 7 the left spring arm 7 is shown in an initial position in which the engaging portion 10 engages with the external thread of a threaded neck 3 of minimum diameter, while the right in Fig. 7 spring arm 7 is shown in a position in which he with the thread of a threaded nozzle of maximum diameter engages.
  • Fig. 8 shows in a view from below in Fig. 7 also these two end positions of the spring clip, wherein also the curved edge of the engagement portion 10 is shown, which is also visible in the perspective view of the closure cap in Fig. 9 from below.
  • the spring arms 7 are formed in the engagement region approximately V-shaped between the inclined surface 8 and an angled portion 7 ', as shown in FIG. 7, to improve the elasticity in the engagement region.
  • the radially outer portion of a spring arm 7 abut against the inner wall of the groove 16 when a maximum diameter of a threaded connector 3 is received, as the right side in Fig. 7 shows, with the V-shape of the engagement portion still sufficient elasticity for the Engaging the threaded connector is present.
  • Fig. 10 shows a usable in a cap nut member 20, which consists of a hollow, frusto-conical injection molded plastic.
  • circumferentially distributed peripheral surfaces 22 have on the inner circumference of a thread, wherein the individual sections are separated by slots 23, so that when placed on a threaded connector with a medium diameter whose edge approximately in the central region of this nut member for Issue comes, whereupon the peripheral portions 22 are pressed in the arrow direction to the outside, when the nut member 20 is screwed onto the threaded connector.
  • the nut member 20 may for example be inserted and fixed in a plastic cap via a bayonet catch or the like. But it can also be formed directly on a plastic cap 13 an expandable nut member 20 made of plastic.
  • a significant advantage of a cap of the type described is that the cap can be pressed so far on the respective threaded neck due to the expandable nut member that the flange portion 2 rests with the peripheral seal on the peripheral surface of the threaded nozzle, whereupon only an additional Screw twisting is required with one to two turns to tighten the cap and firmly press the flange portion 2.
  • the elastically expandable nut member may also be formed as a latching element, so that the plastic cap needs to be pressed only on the sealed threaded neck, wherein the threaded portions 10 corresponding detent engagement with the external thread of the threaded connector engage and the cap in the pressed position hold.
  • the flange portion surrounding the closure cap is made elastic and preferably provided with a bias voltage.
  • 11 shows an embodiment of an approximately frusto-conically shaped flange section 2 ', which has an integrally formed sealing lip or an O-ring 4 inserted in a groove.
  • the locking element may be formed as a spring clip of FIG. 2, wherein instead of the engagement portions 10 simple notches can be provided.
