Definitions
- the present invention relates to the use of oxidized polyolefin waxes.
- the disadvantage of the hard, high molecular weight polyethylene wax oxidates is the high outlay required for emulsification.
- the emulsification must be carried out in a closed autoclave at temperatures of 135-155 ° C. In addition to the higher expenditure of time, this requires higher energy costs and high cooling water consumption in order to cool the finished dispersion to room temperature. It has now been found that oxidized waxes based on polyethylene waxes produced with metallocene catalysts are outstandingly suitable for use as textile plasticizers and at the same time offer the advantage of easier emulsification at low temperatures.
- the invention therefore relates to the use of oxidized polyolefin waxes produced with the aid of metallocene catalysts for textile finishing.
- Ethylene homo- or copolymer waxes containing 0-30% by weight of an olefin comonomer with a chain length of 3-18 carbon atoms are preferably used as polyolefin waxes.

- the oxidized polyolefin waxes particularly preferably have acid numbers between 16 and 25 mg KOH / g.
- the oxidized polyolefin waxes are preferably used in the form of aqueous dispersions.
- the oxidized polyolefin waxes have dropping points from 85 to 125 ° C., preferably from 90 to 120 ° C., melt viscosities, measured at 140 ° C., from 10 to 10,000 mPas, preferably from 20 to 5,000 mPas, in particular from 30 to 2000 mPas, densities (at 20 ° C.) of 0.89 to 1.00 g / cm 3 , preferably 0.91 to 0.98 g / cm 3 and acid numbers between 14 and 30 mg KOH / g, preferred between 16 and 25 mg KOH / g.
- Suitable starting materials for the oxidized waxes are homopolymers of ethylene or copolymers of ethylene with one or more 1-olefins. Linear or branched olefins having 3-18 C atoms, preferably 3-6 C atoms, are used as 1-olefins. Examples include propene, 1-butene, 1-hexene, 1-octene or 1-octadecene and styrene. - the polyethylene wax dispersions produced in this way show the required transparency of> 50%.
- each of the polyethylene wax dispersions D1 / 1, D1 / 2, D3, D5 and D6 were concentrated with the synthetic resin type Arkofix NDF. (Modified N-methylol-dihydroxyethylene urea, commercial product from Clariant GmbH) for the wash and wear equipment and the catalyst 3282 required for crosslinking the synthetic resin equipment (metal salt-based catalyst, commercial product from Clariant GmbH) and 0.5 g of acetic acid in deionized water and made up to 1.

Abstract
Description
Beschreibung
