Definitions
- the invention relates to an odor trap for filtering exhaust gases, in particular in a manhole of a sewer.
- Sewers are used to drain sewage, which rainwater as well Can be used water.
- the wastewater is usually fed to a sewage treatment plant where it is reprocessed.
- Such sewers are upwards openly designed so that rainwater can run in.
- Form in each sewer deposits that give off an unpleasant smell that emanates from the Sewer shafts and the inlets can get outside.
- sewers that also derive process water there is also the smell of faeces as well Wash and rinse water added.
- an odor trap for a street channel which has a base body and a floating body held axially adjustable therein having a filter element.
- the base body forms an annular space for Intermediate storage of rainwater.
- the float floats on the wastewater, so that flowing rainwater can drain off, at the same time the gap formed between the float and the base body is sealed by the waste water becomes. If there is no rainwater in the annulus, the float sits sealing on a conical sealing surface of the base body. From the sewer gas escaping upwards flows through the floating body Activated carbon filter arranged above the water level. Here the uncomfortable Odors absorbed, so that the flowing out of the manhole Gases the smell is taken.
- the object of the present invention is an odor trap for filtering exhaust gases, in particular for a manhole of a sewer, propose which has good filtering properties and at the same time is simply constructed and is therefore inexpensive to manufacture.
- the outer wall of the base body is preferably axially longer than the insert element and the insert element is axially longer than the inner wall of the base body. Overall, this enables a flat design, so that the base body can be arranged above crampons of a manhole and thus can fill the entire cross-section of the manhole.
- outer wall, the inner wall and the insert element are - viewed in cross section - preferably round and so far to most commercially available Duct shafts adjusted.
- the principle of operation and the mode of operation of the invention are also available with a non-circular shape Cross section realizable.
- outer wall, inner wall and insert element have flattened portions over part of the height in order for Leave crampons or measuring probes attached to the manhole.
- the outer annular chamber and the inner annular chamber are connected by passage openings which are in the wall of the insert element are arranged close to the bottom of the base body.
- the area of the opening is preferably wavy.
- the passage openings can also formed by axial elevations and depressions in the bottom of the base body his.
- the passage area formed by the sum of the passage openings is preferably larger than the total passage area by the sum of Breakthroughs in the cover element is formed. So more wastewater can flow through drain the second opening of the base body than through the cover element in the Basic body flows.
- the filter unit has a support body, which at least is indirectly connected to the wall, and one lying on the support body Activated carbon filter includes.
- the support body is preferably lattice-shaped made of an acid-resistant material, for example VA steel or plastic, designed. According to a preferred embodiment is between the support body and the activated carbon filter is provided with a gas-permeable distribution mat, which consists of a foamed plastic. This ensures that the flowing Gas evenly over the entire available cross-sectional area is distributed.
- the base body is made in one piece.
- the base body can also be made in two parts, the inner wall subsequently with a unit consisting of the floor and the outer wall is connected. Deep-drawing is particularly popular as a manufacturing process Question, since large lots can be manufactured easily and inexpensively.
- the basic body is preferably made of polyethylene (PE), glass fiber plastic (GRP), polypropylene (PP) or polyphenylene sulfide (PPS).
- the outer wall has at least one in one on the longitudinal axis reinforcement rib on the vertical plane.
- the base body In order to be able to simply insert the base body into a standardized manhole, the base body has a plurality of regular axially in the region of the first opening radial projections distributed over the circumference, which in corresponding recesses of the manhole can intervene. At the same time form the radial Projections of the base body recesses into which the cover element with a corresponding plurality of radial projections can engage. This covers up Cover element in the inserted state, the base body at least partially axially.
- the openings of the cover element are preferably in the form of regular slits distributed over the circumference.
- the cover element has one the basic body facing and coaxial to the longitudinal axis cylindrical Section whose diameter is larger than the outer diameter of the Insert element, the openings being radially outside the central section are arranged. It is provided that the cylindrical section is inserted Condition of the cover element in the base body, the insert element at least partially covered axially. The through the openings, which are axially above the central section are arranged, flowing waste water is in this way guided the outer surface of the cylindrical portion and then dripped onto the outer wall of the base body, where it flows down further into the outer annular chamber.
- Figure 1 shows an odor trap 1, which is for insertion into a manhole serves and a base body 2 with a longitudinal axis X, an insert element 3 and a Has cover element 4.
- the base body 2 has a frustoconical outer wall 5, which is an upper first Opening 6 forms a disc-shaped bottom 7 and a coaxial within the Outside wall 5 arranged cylindrical tubular inner wall 8. Between the inner wall 8, the bottom 7 and the outer wall 5, an annular space 9 is formed, which for the temporary storage of wastewater, especially rainwater or surface water, serves.
- the inner wall 8 has a lower height than the outer wall 5 of the base body 2. If the flow continues, for example due to precipitation Waste water, the waste water level in the annular space 9 rises until it is in a Is level with the end face of the cylindrical tubular inner wall 8.
- the base body 2 has one Overall height of about 320 mm and the upper first opening has an outer Diameter of approximately 625 mm.
- the insert element 3 is tubular and inserted loosely into the base body 2.
- the insert element 3 comprises a tube 12 with a wall 13, one with Grid 14 firmly connected to tube 12 as a support body, one on grille 14 overlying distribution mat 15 and one resting on the distribution mat 15 Activated carbon filter 16.
- the grid 14 is fastened to the tube 12, for example by rivets and consists of an acid-resistant material, such as VA steel or Plastic.
- the grid 14, the distribution mat 15 and the activated carbon filter 16 are the adjusted round cross-section of the tube 12 and close it from the top.
- the insert element 3 has a largest outer diameter D E , which corresponds approximately to the smallest inner diameter d G of the outer wall of the base body 2.
- D E the largest outer diameter
- d G the smallest inner diameter of the outer wall of the base body 2.
- the insert element 3 is automatically aligned approximately coaxially to the base body 2 during insertion, so that centering is not required.
- the cross-sectional area formed of the insert element and thus also of the activated carbon filter 16 is as large as possible, so that the gas mass flow that flows through the filter unit is also maximum.
- the insert element 3 divides the annular space formed in the base body 2 into an outer one Annular chamber 17 between the outer wall 5 and the bottom 7 of the base body 2 and the wall 13 of the insert element 3 is formed, and an inner Annular chamber 18, which is between the wall 13 of the insert element 3 and the bottom 7 and the inner wall 8 of the base body 2 is formed.
- the outer ones Annular chamber 17 and the inner annular chamber 18 with one another by means of passage openings 19 connected through which waste water can flow.
- the passage openings 19 are viewed through a - in plan view of the settlement - Wavy edge formed, as can be seen from Figure 2.
- a thin-walled rectangular plate 21 made of plastic, for example Polyethylene (PE), fiberglass (GFK), polypropylene (PP) or polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) used.
- This plate 21 is first known by means of a Separation process, for example sawing or cutting, in two partial plates 22, 22 ' divided, a wavy separating edge 23, 23 'being generated. After the separation process the two opposite straight edges 24, 25; 24 ', 25' everyone of the two partial plates 22, 22 'with one another by means of a conventional method, For example, welding or gluing connected, so that a tube 12 arises.
- a rectangular plate 21 as a semi-finished product two tubes 12 are made with an undulating profile at one end.
- such a tube 12 forms part of the insert element 3, with the end with a wavy profile on the bottom 7 of the Base body 2 sits. It is provided that the wave-shaped Profile formed through openings 19 between the outer and the inner Annular chamber 17, 18 form a total passage area which is larger than the total passage area, by the sum of openings 26 of the cover element 4 is formed so that more waste water can flow off than can flow in.
- the Base body 2 always fills with waste water only up to the upper edge of inner wall 8, so that the activated carbon filter remains dry and therefore functional.
- the cover element 4 which closes the first opening 6 of the base body 2 towards the top to a sewer cover, not shown, serves as a sieve for collecting dirt, for example waste and leaves, and for the simultaneous passage of waste water, in particular rainwater.
- the cover element 4 is essentially round and has four radial projections 28, 28 ', 28 "which are regularly distributed over the circumference and which engage in corresponding radial recesses 29, 29' in the outer wall 5 of the base body 2. These In this way, the cover element 4 is non-rotatably suspended in the base body 2.
- the cover element 4 also has a circular central section 32, when viewed in plan view, and a cylindrical section 33, which is connected radially on the outside to the central section 32 and extends coaxially to the longitudinal axis X.
- the cylindrical section 33 which has a smallest inner diameter d D , which is larger than the largest outer diameter D E of the insert element 3, covers the insert element 3 axially at least in the area of the filter unit in the assembled state.
- the waste water flowing through the openings which are designed in the form of axial slots 26 and are arranged axially above the central section 32, is thus conducted to the outer surface of the cylindrical section 33 and then drips onto the outer wall 5 of the base body.
- an annular gap 34 formed between the cylindrical section 33 of the cover element 4 and the outer wall 5 of the base body 2 has the smallest possible radial extent.
- the wastewater is directed to the outer wall 5 of the outer annular chamber 17 and does not come into contact with the activated carbon filter 16.
- the manhole can Passage openings 19 and the slots 26 bypassing the filter unit 27 with communicate in the atmosphere.
- the gases rise due to that in the manhole prevailing higher temperatures upwards and flow through the filter unit 27.
- colder air from the environment through the slots in the lid unit and through the Passage openings 19 sucked into the insert element 3 and occurs together with the rising gases from the channel through the filter unit 27.
- FIG 3 shows a second embodiment of an odor barrier according to the invention.
- this variant corresponds essentially to the odor barrier according to Figure 1, to the description of which reference is made.
- the same components are provided with the same reference numerals. different Components are provided with reference numbers increased by 100.
- the base body 2 according to the illustrated embodiment in two parts from a unit consisting of outer wall 105 and floor 107 and one Tube as the inner wall 108 is made.
- the unit 107, 105 is initially manufactured separately by deep drawing, the lower second opening 11 already being provided is.
- the tube which is also separate, is then used as the inner wall 108 a common connection method, for example welding, with the assembly 107, 105 connected.
