Definitions
- the invention relates to a wide nip calender arrangement for satinizing a paper or cardboard web with at least a wide nip between a counter pressure surface and a circumferential jacket, which is supported by a support shoe in the direction of the counter pressure surface is formed, and a calibration nip.
- the invention further relates to a method for calendering a paper or cardboard web in which the paper or cardboard web passed through a wide nip between a counterpressure surface and a circumferential one Coat, which by a support shoe arrangement in Direction on the counter pressure surface is formed and the paper or cardboard web is calibrated becomes.
- a paper or cardboard web like a Breitnip press, in which the paper or cardboard web over a predetermined distance with low to high Pressure and possibly also at an elevated temperature with the aim of minimizing the volume loss can be applied during compression.
- the Breitnip press forms a Breitnip, in which a rotating Sheath is opposite a counter pressure surface.
- the jacket is countered by a support shoe arrangement pressed the counter pressure surface so that a corresponding big or small pressure on the between the coat and the paper or cardboard web lying on the counterpressure surface is exercised.
- the Breitnip has the advantage that the paper or cardboard web over a longer period of time is pressurized.
- the compressive stresses in the wide nip are comparatively small, however that volume-saving satinizing is possible.
- the humidification has the disadvantage that do not use them with the calibration calendar that forms the calibration nip. If the Paper or cardboard web after calibration, so after passing through the calibration nip, moistened again then there are again non-uniform Thicknesses across the width of the paper or cardboard web. This may be due to that differentiated by swelling back to different degrees compressed areas again the previously observed Differences in thickness result.
- the invention has for its object a paper or Cardboard web to be satined without major problems to create in further processing.
- This task is done with a wide nip calender arrangement of the type mentioned in that a Moisturizing device in front of the inlet of the wide nip is arranged and the calibration nip behind the Spout of the wide nip is arranged.
- the calibration nip is preferably by two hard ones Rolls formed.
- the two hard rollers are in one Calender or calender arranged like this in itself is known.
- the hard rollers i.e. rollers made of steel or cast without an elastic surface covering able to over the thickness of the paper or cardboard web equalize their width. If it turns out that a calibration nip is not sufficient, it may be required, several calibration nips in a row to switch. These calibration nips can then arranged in a single roll stack be so that you can use multiple rollers twice can.
- the counter pressure surface is preferably through the surface a hard roller. Since the coat runs around it is convenient if the back pressure area can circulate. This is easiest to do realize that the counter pressure surface through the peripheral surface a roller is formed. Because the smoothness impresses this roller into the paper or cardboard web, a particularly smooth roller is preferable here. This smoothness is easiest to do on one generate hard roller, so, as explained above, on a roller made of steel or cast iron.
- the wide nip preferably has a heating device on. If the paper or cardboard web in the wide nip not only with increased pressure, but also with an elevated temperature, then let the satin finish results improve. In particular the paper or cardboard web can have an increased smoothness and / or get an improved gloss.
- the feed of heat in the wide nip allows the paper or Cardboard web practically throughout its run to be subjected to an increased temperature. This is cheaper than if you just have the paper or cardboard web heated before entering the wide nip.
- two broad nips are in a row and in front arranged the calibration nip, initially one and then the other side of the paper or cardboard web comes into contact with a counter pressure surface.
- both sides of the paper or Cardboard web it is possible to use both sides of the paper or Cardboard web to be satined in the same way, i.e. both Sides of the paper or cardboard web with a smoothness provided as specified by the counter pressure surface is.
- a humidifier is arranged before each wide nip. Leave with it the loss of moisture in every wide nip arise, so to speak to compensate in advance. The Paper or cardboard web also remains after that Passing through the wide nips easy to handle.
- the loss of moisture, which the paper or cardboard web experiences in the wide nip, are known or can be determined beforehand or can be calculated. If you now ensure that the Moisture in the wide nip from the paper or cardboard web is lost, previously applied, then preserved not only an improved satin finish of the paper or cardboard web, so an improved smoothness of the Surface, but the paper or cardboard web dries not even what the further handling, especially when winding.
- a winding device is arranged. This configuration has the advantage that a paper or cardboard web is wound up shortly after it is across its width has been brought to the same thickness. Such a thing Formed paper or cardboard web roll is of high Goodness and can be processed well later.
- the task is in a method of the aforementioned Art solved in that the paper or cardboard web moistened before entering the wide nip is calibrated and after leaving the wide nip becomes.
- the paper or cardboard web is preferably in the wide nip heated. Heating is one way of getting the satin results continue to improve. Because before Breitnip moisture can be applied for this ensure that the paper or cardboard web dries out is prevented or at least limited to the extent that no negative consequences arise from it.
- the paper or cardboard web is preferably in the Connection wound up to the calibration. If the paper or cardboard web immediately after the Calibration is wound up, there is practically none Time available in the paper or cardboard web under the influence of environmental conditions, for example an environmental humidity, again a non-uniform Thickness distribution would be reshaped. You get so a very even winding roll that later can be processed well.
- a wide nip calender arrangement 1 for satinizing one Paper or cardboard web 2 consisting of a schematic only shown paper machine 3 has one first Breitnip press 4 and a second Breitnip press 5 on.
- the first Breitnip press 4 has a hard one Roller 6 with a surface 7 made of steel or cast iron, which interacts with a circumferential jacket 8, the under the action of a support shoe assembly 9 against the Roller 6 is pressed.
- the support shoe arrangement 9 has a concave contact surface 10, the curvature of the Curvature of the surface 7 of the roller 6 is adapted.
- the Sheath 8 is guided over support rollers 11, 12, 13 by which the support roller 12 can have a drive, to drive the jacket in the direction of an arrow 15.
- the jacket 8 can have a certain rigidity, so that it rotates like a roller. He can but also be very “soft” and elastic, so that it practically forms only a band without its own dimensional stability.
- the Breitnip 16 has a length in Range from 50 to 250 mm. Accordingly, the through the Breitnip 16 continuous paper or cardboard web 2 when passing over a predetermined one Period under increased pressure. The period is much longer than when going through a nip, which is formed between two rollers.
- the roller 6 is provided with a heating device 17, which is only shown schematically here.
- the Heating device 17 can be designed in this way, for example be that they form a heat transfer medium in the roller 6 of hot water, hot oil or hot steam.
- the heating device 17th only heated the surface of the roller 6, for example by infrared radiation or by eddy currents.
- a moistening device 18 Before the entry into the Breitnip 16 is a moistening device 18 arranged the moisture on apply that side of the paper or cardboard web 2, which rests in the broad nip 16 on the surface 7 of the roller 6. You can now apply the moisture through the Control humidifier 18 so that the paper or Cardboard web after leaving the wide nip 16 has at least the same humidity as before moistening on the humidifier 18, i.e. you can the moisture loss occurring in the Breitnip 16 pre-compensating. This precompensation has about it furthermore the advantage that the surface of the paper or Cardboard web 2 can be smoothed better because it is wetter.
- the second Breitnip press 5 is basically the same constructed like the first Breitnip press 4. Your elements are therefore with the same but deleted reference numerals Mistake. The only difference is in that to see that the arrangement of roller 6 'and jacket 8' is reversed, so that now the other side of the paper or Cardboard web 2 abuts the roller 6 'while the previously lying on the surface 7 of the roller 6 the paper or cardboard web 2 lies against the jacket 8 '.
- this moistening device 18 ' moisture again applies to the side of the paper or cardboard web 2, which later lies against the roller 6 '.
- the second wide nip press 5 can also be omitted, if you only have one side of the paper or Cardboard web 2 wants to provide increased smoothness. In this case, the other side of the paper or Cardboard web 2 smoothed only by the jacket 8, which in sufficient in many cases.
- a calibration nip 19 arranged, which is formed by two hard rollers 20, 21, each of which has a drive 22, 23.
- the two rollers 20, 21 are here in the frame of a calender, not shown arranged. They are preferably used as deflection adjustment rollers trained whose circumferential coats are also hard, i.e. are made of steel.
- the Paper or cardboard web After passing through the calibration nip 19, the Paper or cardboard web a thickness that is across the width the paper or cardboard web (in the figure perpendicular to Drawing plane) is largely uniform.
- a winding device 24 arranged in which the paper or Cardboard web 2 to a paper or cardboard web roll 25 is wound up.
- the paper or cardboard web roll 25 can rest on two support rollers 26, 27, which are driven could be. However, it is also possible to or to keep cardboard web roll 25 centrally.
- the uniformity of the thickness of the paper or cardboard web 2 after passing through the calibration nip 19 is large enough to wind up on paper or Cardboard web roll 25 to cause no interference.
- the Paper or cardboard web roll 25 can therefore be very train evenly. It receives the desired circular cylinder shape.
- paper or cardboard web 2 comes directly from paper machine 3. But it can also come from another upstream source, for example a settlement.
- a counter pressure surface an encircling hard belt can also be considered on the opposite side of the coat by a Support shoe arrangement is supported.
