- helmets for different sports developed.
- lightweight helmets are used for cycling sports preferred, which on the one hand take physical exertion into account and on the other hand, the lower risk of injury compared to motorcycling are coordinated.
- helmets are generally more robust in the field of skiing executed what in particular with the increased speed as well as the lower temperature load for the driver.
- the greatest possible Motorcycle helmets usually offer a standard of safety.
- the present invention builds on the knowledge that it is possible to use different ones Helmet types based on a basic version by attaching To provide additional components on the basic version.
- the basic version can in particular be a kind of bicycle helmet act, which has a fastening device on which a helmet extension can be attached.
- a typical bicycle helmet can be converted into a helmet, as is common in the field of skiing. It is also possible to convert to a jet helmet, as is common in motorcycle racing is.
- the corresponding helmet expansions themselves can also be fastening devices for further helmet extensions, so that the mentioned Ski helmet converted into a motorcycle helmet by an additional extension can be.
- An extended helmet preferably does not differ from a corresponding one Special model.
- the fasteners and components designed such that they are no longer recognizable after attachment is that the present helmet actually consists of several components.
- the transitions between the individual parts are form-fitting.
- the helmet shown essentially consists of a base shell 101 on which via a fastening mechanism 103 one or more modular helmet extensions 102 are releasably attached.
- the helmet according to the invention can be worn with or without helmet extensions 102 become.
- the modular helmet extensions 102 By means of the modular helmet extensions 102, the one protected by the helmet Head area enlarged and adapted to the intended use become.
- the helmet extensions consist of U-shaped ones Protectors that protect the ears and cheek area of the head and releasably attached laterally to the base shell 101 in the fastening device 103 become.
- these can be U-shaped Cheek parts can be supplemented with a chin guard, in addition to the To protect chin area.
- a chin guard is attached using another fastening device detachably attached to the cheek parts.
- the cheek parts are integrated in the chin guard and thus a one-piece helmet extension is attached to the base shell to protect both the chin area and the ears and cheek area.
- the fastening device is located 103, in which the helmet extensions 102 on the base shell 101 be attached, approximately in the temple area of the head on both sides of the Helmes and consists of a particularly preferred embodiment a detachable snap or plug connection.
- the helmet extensions 102 there are two locking tabs on the top sides of the locking connection the helmet extensions 102 attached.
- the base shell 101 are the corresponding Positions locking elements integrated with push buttons, by means of which the locking connection can be released.
- the cutouts for receiving the Locking tabs are integrated in the base shell 101 such that the function and the design of the helmet with both removed and attached helmet extensions 102 is not impaired.
- the helmet extensions close form-fitting with the base shell.
- the helmet extension with integrated or attached chin protection e.g. via a latch hooked into the fastening device 103 and via locking tabs in the locking elements fixed to the base shell.
- a latch hooked into the fastening device 103 and via locking tabs in the locking elements fixed to the base shell.
- By pressing the push buttons on the The helmet extension can be released or folded up to snap-in elements.
- a chin strap 105 is fixed connected to the base shell 101.
- the articulation points for the chin strap 105 are located itself in the area of the fastening mechanism 103 on the inside of the helmet. This allows the helmet to be with or without cheek parts 102 can be attached to the head of the helmet wearer via the chin strap 105.
- the chin strap has a device for opening and closing the Belt.
- a visor 106 In the end region of the base shell 101 of a preferred embodiment of the A visor 106 is attached to the helmet.
- the visor 106 extends over the entire Front of the helmet from the left to the right fastening device.
- the shape of the visor 106 is chosen such that the lower edge of the visor is above the nose of the helmet wearer ends and by the curved shape of the Bottom edge covers the entire eye area.
- the visor 106 is in one Retractable cassette between the inside of the base shell 101 and the shock-absorbing inner lining of the helmet is attached.
- the cassette is included adapted to the inner shape of the base shell and kept very narrow for comfort to ensure the helmet.
- the visor 106 can thereby via a locking mechanism lowered or completely folded into the cassette become.
- the visor 106 is detachable, preferably attached to the base shell 101 via a latching or plug-in connection.
- the helmet extension has 102 for the cheek area on a U-shape, in which an ear protection 104 in the recesses can be integrated.
- the ear protector 104 preferably has one Shell shape, is raised towards the outer edge of the ear and to the ear canal of the helmet wearer to direct the sound waves to the center of the ear.
- the ear protection can also be provided with a perforated or perforated cover to be replaced, both inside and outside with preferably breathable and wind-repellent fabric can be covered.
- the inside is the Base shell 101 and the helmet extensions 102 with shock-absorbing material lined, as is the case with commercially available helmets. This ensures both the comfort and the necessary protection of the head in the event of violence.
- the base shell 101 can have one or more typically elongated air openings 107 on the top of the base shell 101. They serve to circulate air in the helmet as well as the weight reduction. To the necessary rigidity and to ensure stability of the base shell, the base shell is elongated Struts reinforced.
- the air openings can be through the shock-absorbing inner lining of the helmet be covered or remain open.
- the shock-absorbing one Inner lining made of breathable and wind-repellent material.
- the shock-absorbing inner lining of the Helmets recessed in the area of the air openings 107, the air openings 107 but are covered by a breathable and wind resistant fabric to ensure efficient air circulation in the helmet and around the head of the To protect the helmet wearer from unnecessary drafts.
- the inventive Helmet seen from above, has a shape that approximates a rectangle. This creates the greatest possible distance between the tangent on impact Helmet site and the wearer's head.
- this angular shape offers more protection in the event of a fall because of the impact zone the helmet in the area of the corners due to more deformable inner material, preferably elastomer, is protected.
- the helmet is equipped with additional longitudinal edges in those areas of the helmet, identified as typical impact zones in the event of a fall.
- FIG. 2 shows a preferred embodiment of the helmet with the helmet extensions removed and visor 106 removed or sunk.
- the illustration illustrates the position of the articulation points of the chin strap 105 in Area of the fastening mechanism 103.
- the base shell 101 is in the area of the fastening mechanism 103 of the cheek parts 102 in such a way that they have a sufficiently large recess when the helmet extensions 102 are removed for the ears of the helmet wearer.
- Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of the helmet, in which the air openings of the Keep the helmet spared on the inner lining of the helmet. This makes possible an appropriate air circulation, as in typical outdoor sports in Summer is wanted.
- an essential feature of the helmet according to the invention is the modularity and the thereby achievable, extended area of application of the Helms. This can be used for summer and winter sports as well as a motorcycle helmet be used.
- the protective function of the helmet can be modular the respective purpose as well as the climatic conditions of the different Seasons to be adjusted.
- the modular concept enables especially the conversion of a typical bicycle helmet into a ski helmet and by adding a chin guard to a motorcycle helmet.
- the helmet is similar in a summer version (indicated by FIG. 2 or FIG. 3) a bicycle helmet.
- the removed cheek parts 102 and the air openings 107 provide the necessary comfort. Enable breathable materials wearing the helmet even in warmer temperatures and more demanding ones Sports.
- the preferred material for this is breathable and windproof and can e.g. consist of GoreTex®.
- GoreTex® e.g., GoreTex®
