Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for processing printed products according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- a device of this kind is known from EP-A-0 771 754 and corresponding US-A-5,765,823.
- a saddle-shaped support and a support wall and a base having support members are arranged at a distance in succession to a continuously driven endless traction member like a boom.
- the tension member is designed as a guided over rollers in a channel conveyor chain.
- a first feeding station is intended to either openly fold open folded printed products onto the saddle-shaped support of the carrier elements moved past it or to supply printed products to the carrier elements in such a way that they come to rest on the floor and supporting wall.
- processing stations are arranged, with the same purpose as the first feed station.
- the combined printed products are removed from the carrier elements and taken away for further processing.
- a device for the combined transport of photos and negatives transported in pockets on individually movable running devices is disclosed in EP-A-0 828 190.
- the running devices are thereby guided along a rail-shaped guide circulation through a receiving station for the negatives, a standby station, a receiving station for the photos and a collecting station.
- the pockets are arranged on a runner base of the running device and have a unilaterally open compartment for receiving the negatives and a bilateral open compartment for storing the photos.
- the conveying member is formed by a plurality of individually movable in a rail system conveying elements, wherein each of the support elements is preferably arranged on one of the conveying elements cantilever.
- the conveying elements and thus carrier elements are decoupled from each other and individually movable in the rail system.
- the conveying elements can be moved forward with each other concerns by the transmission of impact forces, but they exert no tensile forces on each other.
- Each of the stations - the feeder station, the processing station and the removal station - has its own drive arrangement for the conveyor elements, which convey the conveyor and carrier elements at the distance required by the station in question and at the speed required by the station concerned. By decoupling the conveyor elements and the own drive arrangements, each station is optimally operable, they are independent of each other.
- Sections of the rail system serving as a buffer path allow the intermediate storage of carrier elements and the printed products transported by the latter. This can also be significantly interrupted interruptions of stations.
- the device shown in FIG. 1 has a self-contained rail system 10 extending in a horizontal plane.
- Two semicircular rail sections 12 are connected to each other by means of straight rail sections 14 to a concentricity.
- a plurality of individual conveyor elements 16 are arranged one behind the other and guided in a freely movable manner along the rail system.
- the number of conveying elements 16 is chosen such that they do not form a self-contained shock chain by abutting each other; in other words, there are gaps between individual successive conveying elements.
- a support member 18 is fixed like a cantilever, which projects from the conveyor element 16 with respect to the rail system 10 in the radial direction to the outside.
- a first feed station 20 is indicated by a dot-dashed rectangle. It is associated with its own drive arrangement 22, which is intended to move conveyor elements 16 and thus the carrier elements 18 at a predetermined distance A and at a predetermined speed v in the conveying direction F through the feed station 20, so that each carrier element 18 is a printed product can supply.
- a processing station 24 is also arranged with its own drive arrangement. This is intended to keep the conveyor elements 16 in a buffered state, i. adjacent to each other and thus to move the respective support members 18 with a minimum distance B and by the processing station 24 predetermined speed therethrough.
- another printed product attached to the printed products supplied in the feed station 20 for example, be glued or there may be any other processing or processing of the relevant printed products.
- the processing station 24 is downstream and at a distance another processing station downstream, which is designed as a further feed station 26. Their structure and operation corresponds to that of the feeding station 20.
- a further section of the rail system is assigned a drive arrangement 22 ', the task of which is to drive the arriving conveyor elements 16 in the conveying direction F so that they reach a removal station 28.
- This in turn has its own drive arrangement which is intended to move the conveying elements 16 in the buffered state - distance B - through the removal station 28.
- the upstream of the Trägiereernenten 18 supplied and processed in the processing station 24 printed products are removed from the support members 18 and fed to a further processing.
- a drive arrangement 22 ' is associated with a further rail section in order to feed the support elements 18 back to the feed station 20.
- stations 44 and the rail system 10 are modular, the device can be adapted to individual needs.
- Fig. 2 shows a portion of the device shown in Fig. 1 with three in the buffered state at the end abutting each other conveying elements 16.
- Each of the conveying elements 16 has a conveying element body 30, on which a horizontal support shaft 32 is fixed like a cantilever. This carries at a distance from the conveyor element body 30, for example, a sheet-metal formed carrier element 18, which on the one hand forms a saddle-shaped support 34 and on the other hand has a flat bearing element 36 and a subsequent bottom 38.
- On the floor 38 and on the supporting wall 36 is a first printed product 40, which has been supplied to the carrier element 18, for example by means of the feed station 20 - Fig. 1.
- Another folded printed product 40 'sits astride the support 34 and covers the printed product 40.
- the printed product 40 has been opened, for example, by means of the further feed station 26 - Fig. 1 - and placed on the support 34.
- each conveyor element body 30 guide wheels 42 are freely rotatably mounted, which the carriage member 16 on the cross-sectionally C-shaped rail carriage-like and store freely.
- the end faces of the conveyor element body 30 are formed as abutting surfaces in order to be buffered. Condition on the facing end face of the conveyor element body 30 of the adjacent conveyor element 16 abut.
- Fig. 3 shows schematically a processing station 24 with an associated rail section 12 '.
- the drive assembly associated with this processing station 24 is not shown. It is intended to move the conveying elements 16 - these and the carrier elements 18 are of the same design as shown in FIG. 2 and described above - through the processing station 24 at a predetermined distance and at a predetermined speed. Of course, this movement can be continuous or in start / stop operation.
- the rail section 12 ' is followed by another rail section 12 "serving as a connecting section, which is bent spatially with narrow radii. It is also the task of the processing station 24 to release the conveyor elements 16 at a distance such that they do not interfere with each other due to the strong curvature of the rail section 12 "can move through.
- This rail section 12 may, for example, have gradients, so that no further drive arrangement is necessary.
- the conveying elements 16 are adjacent to the bottom 38, for example - seen in the longitudinal direction - about the center.
- FIG. 4 shows a station 44 formed as a module or module insert - this may be a feed station 20, a processing station 24 or a WegLabstation 28 act - with a dedicated rail section 12 'and a separate drive assembly 22 at both ends of the rail section 12' connect to these rail sections adjacent stations, in the example shown both adjacent stations as buffer stations 46, each with its own rail section 12 ". 'and own drive assembly 22 are formed.
- the drive assembly 22 of the station 44 has a circumferentially driven belt 48, which positively or non-positively moves the conveying elements 16 through the station 44 at a predetermined mutual distance and at a predetermined speed.
- a sluice wheel or a controlled release device can be provided on the input side of the drive arrangement 22 in order to supply or release a conveyor element 16 to the belt 48 at the desired times.
- the buffer stations 46 have a further belt 48 ', driven in rotation in the conveying direction F, which carries the conveying elements 16 in the conveying direction F, for example via frictional engagement or magnetic closure, until they rest against one another in the buffered state.
- the carrier shafts 32 of the carrier elements 18 project beyond the support 34 and the support element 36 on the side facing away from the conveyor elements 16.
- the illustrated rail portion 12 ' is also associated with a drive assembly 22, which drive the conveying elements 16 capable of slipping in the conveying direction F.
- the station 44 shown in FIG. 5 has an auxiliary drive arrangement 50 which also serves as a support device and has a self-contained tension element 52 which has groove-like recesses 52 'for receiving the free end regions of the support shafts 32 at predetermined intervals. The distance and the conveying speed of the carrier elements 18 is predetermined by the auxiliary drive assembly 50 in this case.
- a rail section 12 "' Upstream of the station 44 'there is provided a rail section 12 "', for example with a gradient, serving as a buffer section, from which one conveyor element 16 is successively taken over by the auxiliary drive arrangement 50 and moved through the station 44 at the desired distance from the leading carrier element 18
- the support elements 16 are supported at both ends in the station 44 shown in Fig. 5. This may be particularly advantageous if processing is to be carried out on the printed products 40, 40 ', for example if printed products placed on each other are to be connected to one another by means of staples.
- FIG. 6 shows a portion of a station 44 having a switched baffle 54 at its downstream end.
- the station 44 has its own drive arrangement 22 with a belt 48 driven circumferentially in the conveying direction F. This is intended to take in their effective range reaching conveyor elements 16 until they reach the respective leading conveyor element 16 to the plant.
- the frictional coupling between the belt 48 and the conveyor elements 16 may be formed, for example, by frictional engagement or magnetic closure.
- the station 44 requires a standstill of the support members 18 for the processing of printed products 40, 40 ', which are either the conveyor elements 16 to be supplied or these have been previously supplied by means of a feed station 20.
- the blocking element 54 releases a conveying element 16, which is fed by means of the drive arrangement 22 in the conveying direction F to the next following rail section 12.
- FIG. 7 shows a feed station 20 and a processing station 24 which is arranged at a distance and designed as a further feed station 26, both of which each have an associated rail section 12 'and an associated drive arrangement 22.
- Each of the two drive arrangements 22 has a belt 48 which is driven peripherally in the conveying direction F at a certain conveying speed and from which driving cams 56 protrude at a distance one behind the other. These are intended to come into positive engagement with the conveying elements 16 in order to move them through the feed stations 20, 26 at the desired distance and at the required conveying speed.
- the feed station 20 is intended to supply a printed product 40 to each of the carrier elements 18 from above, in the example shown a folded printed product in which a further partial product is arranged.
- the printed products are fed in advance with the fold, so that they come with their fold on the floor 38 to the plant and can be transported lying on the support element 36 with the flat side on.
- the further feed station 26 is intended to open folded printed products 40 'in a known manner and to place them astride the saddle-shaped supports 34 of the carrier elements 18 in such a way that they cover the printed products 40 fed in the feed station 20.
- FIG. 8 shows a rectilinear rail section 12 'associated with a processing station 24 having a stapler 58.
- the drive assembly 22 of this processing station 24 is intended to move the conveying elements 16 adjacent to each other in time with the stapler 58 through the processing station 24.
- the stapler 58 has stapling heads 62 arranged at a uniform spacing along the circumference of a rotatably driven carrier disc 60.
- the distance between the stitching heads 62 and the Rotational speed of the support disc 60 are matched to the distance B between successive support members 18, that with each support member 18, a stapling head 62 coincides, so that it can insert a staple in the rittlingavant deposited on the pads 34 printed products 40 '.
- Each support member 18 is associated with a Umbiege Hughes 64, which is controlled for example by means of a link 66 such that the stapled in the printed products 40 'staples are bent in a known manner.
- the mutual spacing of the carrier elements 18 is minimal and thus substantially smaller than in the feed stations 20, 26 shown in FIG. 7.
- Fig. 9 also shows a processing station 24 with a stapler 58 of the same construction as shown in Fig. 8 and described above.
- the associated rail portion 12 ' is convexly curved with respect to the stapler 58.
- the drive assembly 22 in turn has a driven in the conveying direction F band 48 with driving cam 56 for the positive entrainment of the conveying elements 16. Since they are moved through a bend, they are preferably held by the drive assembly 22 at a distance from each other, which can be very small.
- a Umbieger noticed 64 is attached to the support member 36 of each support member 18 with benders, which are moved by means of a slide control for bending staples.
- the modules can be assembled to a device as desired.
- the support elements 18 may also be pocket-shaped and / or have opening and hold-open elements or closing elements for the printed products 40.
- the device always has a feed station 20 and a removal station 28 and at least one processing station 24 therebetween, which can also be designed as a feed station 26. However, it can fulfill any other function.
- the rail system 10 has a self-contained rail, which consists of successively arranged rail sections 12, 12 ', 12 ", 12"'.
- the switches are designed in the manner of a processing station 24 in a preferred manner.
- the support elements 18 do not necessarily saddle-shaped pads 34 have, if not printed products 40 'are astride this store. However, they can also have only such supports 34 but no support elements 36 and floors 38, if the printed products 40 'for processing only astride the supports 34 are placed.
- the device according to the invention is also particularly suitable for addressing printed products for gluing, for example, cards, or for inside printing, since the spacing between successive carrier elements can be selected in the stations 44 in accordance with the requirements.
- the device according to the invention allows to carry out a wide variety of functions and processes on the same conveyor line (i.e., rail system) without disturbing the smooth processing. Also with mixed feeds - e.g. As shown in FIG. 7 - and / or mixed machining operations, the correspondingly required distances can be set in the entire process sequence.
