Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for collecting and processing folded printed products according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • the printed sheets can still go through various work steps after printing. Such steps may include: collecting, inserting, stapling, especially saddle stitching, gluing, etc.
  • steps may include: collecting, inserting, stapling, especially saddle stitching, gluing, etc.
  • the apparatus comprises a device generally known as a collecting drum, which has a rotationally driven drum axis with a cylindrical hub, projects from the radially outward pads whose longitudinal extent are aligned parallel to the drum axis.
  • the pads are evenly distributed around the circumference and form several parallel collection routes.
  • Each collection line are associated with conveying elements for conveying the printed products along the supports in the axial direction of the collecting drum.
  • Several in the axial direction successively arranged mooring stations along the collection drum serve to store folded printed products astride one another on the saddle-shaped pads.
  • the collecting drum rotates in unison with the landing stations around its drum axis.
  • the printed products within the conveying direction undergo a movement in the circumferential direction about the drum axis, so that an overall result is a helical-like trajectory for the printed products.
