- the elevator on the left in the figure has the same layout as Figure 7 and the elevator on the right has a symmetrical layout to the one on the left.
- the two landing inspection panels 16 are disposed outside the two sets of landing doors 15, improving the design.
- the degree of freedom in the positioning of the landing inspection panels 16 increases, but it is necessary to use an emergency electric power source and to monitor the velocity of the elevator car for safety, etc, requiring countermeasures against failure of those mechanisms, thereby increasing costs.
- Figure 14 is a plan showing part of an example of conventional observation elevators
- Figure 15 is a front elevation showing the landing of the elevators in Figure 14.
- the hoistway walls 1b behind the elevator cars 4 are each composed of transparent glass.
- Rear portions of the elevator cars 4 are also composed of transparent glass for observation.
- the two counterweights 5 are disposed between the two elevator cars 4 such that passengers inside the elevator cars 4 can easily see outside.
- the two landing inspection panels 16 must be disposed between the two sets of landing doors 15, reducing the degree of freedom in the installation positions of the landing inspection panels 16.
- the present invention aims to solve the above problems and an object of the present invention is to provide an elevator and an elevator car position confirming apparatus enabling a degree of freedom in an installation position of an inspection window to be increased while suppressing increases in cost.
- an elevator car position checking apparatus including: a wire apparatus disposed inside a hoistway along a raising and lowering direction of an elevator car, the wire apparatus having a loop-shaped wire which is cycled together with raising and lowering of the elevator car; and an inspection window for viewing the wire, the inspection window being disposed on a landing so as to face the wire, markings being applied to the wire to indicate when the elevator car has moved to a position close to a landing.
- an elevator including: two hoistways disposed adjacently; two elevator cars raised and lowered inside the hoistways; a wire apparatus disposed inside at least one hoistway of the two hoistways along a raising and lowering direction of the elevator cars, the wire apparatus having a loop-shaped wire which is cycled together with raising and lowering of a corresponding elevator car; and an inspection window for viewing the wire, the inspection window being disposed on a landing so as to face the wire, markings being applied to the wire to indicate when the corresponding elevator car has moved to a position close to a landing.
- Figure 1 is a perspective showing an elevator according to Embodiment 1 of the present invention
- Figure 2 is a plan showing part of the elevator in Figure 1
- Figure 3 is a side elevation showing part of the elevator in Figure 1.
- a pair of car guide rails 2 and a pair of counterweight guide rails 3 are installed in a hoistway 1.
- a elevator car 4 is raised and lowered inside the hoistway 1 along the car guide rails 2.
- a counterweight 5 is raised and lowered inside the hoistway 1 along the counterweight guide rails 3.
- a driving machine (a hoisting machine) 6 for raising and lowering the elevator car 4 and the counterweight 5 is installed in a pit (a bottom portion) 1a of the hoistway 1.
- a main rope 7 is wound around a driving sheave 6a of the driving machine 6.

- Car and counterweight return pulleys 10a and 10b are disposed in an upper portion inside the hoistway 1. Both end portions of the main rope 7 are secured to an upper portion inside the hoistway 1.
- An intermediate portion of the main rope 7 is wound in sequence around the pair of car suspension sheaves 8, the car return pulley 10a, the driving sheave 6a, the counterweight return pulley 10b, and the counterweight suspension sheave 9.
- a control board 11 for controlling operation of the elevator; a car buffer 12 for receiving the elevator car 4 if the elevator car 4 falls; and a counterweight buffer 13 for receiving the counterweight 13 if the counterweight 13 falls.
- a pair of landing doors 15 are disposed on a landing 14.
- a landing inspection panel 16 is also disposed on the landing 14. The construction of the landing inspection panel 16 is similar to that in Figures 8 and 9.
- a rotatable upper portion pulley 31 is disposed in an upper portion inside the hoistway 1.
- the upper portion pulley 31 is supported in one of the car guide rails 2 by means of an upper portion arm 32.
- a rotatable lower portion pulley 33 is disposed in a lower portion inside the hoistway 1.
- the lower portion pulley 33 is supported in one of the car guide rails 2 by means of a lower portion arm 34.
- the lower portion arm 34 is pivotable around a pin 35.
- An upper end portion of a loop-shaped wire 36 is wound around the upper portion pulley 31, and a lower end portion of the wire 36 is wound around the lower portion pulley 33.
- a portion of the wire 36 is connected to the elevator car 4 by means of a connecting arm 37.
- Tension is applied to the wire 36 by means of deadweight from the pivotable lower portion arm 34 and the lower portion pulley 33. Consequently, the wire 36 is cycled together with the raising and lowering of the elevator car 4.
- markings are applied to the wire 36 using paint, etc., to indicate when the elevator car 4 has moved to a position close to a landing 14.
- the wire 36 is disposed in a position which is visible through the inspection window 17a of the landing inspection panel 16 ( Figures 8 and 9) from the landing 14.
- a wire apparatus 38 according to Embodiment 1 includes the upper portion pulley 31, the upper portion arm 32, the lower portion pulley 33, the lower portion arm 34, the pin 35, the wire 36, and the connecting arm 37.
- An elevator car position checking apparatus according to Embodiment 1 includes the inspection window 17a and the wire apparatus 38.
- an elevator car position checking apparatus of this kind because a wire 36 specifically for checking elevator car position is disposed separately from the main rope 7 inside the hoistway 1 along the raising and lowering direction of the elevator car 4, the position of the inspection window 17a can be set independently from the layout of the counterweight 5 and the driving machine 6, enabling the degree of freedom in the installation position of the inspection window 17a to be increased. Furthermore, since it is sufficient that a wire apparatus 38 having a simple construction be disposed, increases in cost can also be suppressed.
- the inspection window 17a is disposed inside the landing inspection panel 16, the degree of freedom in the installation position of the landing inspection panel 16 can also be increased, enabling the design of the landing 14 to be improved. Furthermore, since the lower portion arm 34 supporting the lower portion pulley 33 is pivotable around the pin 35, tension can be applied to the wire 36 by a simple construction.
- Figure 4 is a plan showing part of elevators according to Embodiment 2 of the present invention.
- two elevators are installed in parallel.
- the layout of major equipment such as the elevator car 4, the counterweight 5, the driving machine 6, the control board 11, etc., is the same in both the left and right elevators.
- the landing inspection panels 16 are disposed outside the two sets of landing doors 15.
- Embodiment 2 by using a wire apparatus 38 similar to that of Embodiment 1 in the elevator on the right in the figure, it is possible to simply make the arrangement of the landing inspection panels 16 symmetrical while keeping the layout of major equipment the same on the left and right. Consequently, the degree of freedom in the installation positions of the inspection windows 17a and the landing inspection panels 16 can be increased while suppressing increases in cost.
- FIG. 5 is a plan showing observation elevators according to Embodiment 3 of the present invention.
- the hoistway walls 1b behind the elevator cars 4 are each composed of transparent glass.
- Rear portions of the elevator cars 4 (portions facing the hoistway walls 1b) are also composed of transparent glass for observation.
- the two counterweights 5 are disposed between the two elevator cars 4 such that passengers inside the elevator cars 4 can easily see outside.
- the landing inspection panels 16 are disposed outside the two sets of landing doors 15.
- the two landing inspection panels 16 were disposed between the two sets of landing doors 15, as shown in Figure 14.
- the wire apparatus 38 by disposing the wire apparatus 38 on an opposite side of the elevator car 4 from the counterweight 5 in both the left and right elevators, it is possible to position the inspection windows 17a outside the two sets of landing doors 15. Consequently, the degree of freedom in the installation positions of the inspection windows 17a and the landing inspection panels 16 can be increased.
