Definitions

  • the invention relates to a gluing station for adhesive bonding of sheet blocks with clamping means for fixing a sheet block and with an adhesive applicator having at least one movable by means of a carriage relative to a block back adhesive applicator roll, wherein the carriage is arranged on a linear slide guide, at least almost parallel to the oblique Alignment of the block back is inclined.
  • Such a gluing station is known from DT 1486748.
  • the glueing station is provided with clamping jaws, between each of which a sheet block is fixed in such a way that a lower block section projects freely downwards with a block back to be glued.
  • an adhesive applicator Associated with the block spine is an adhesive applicator having a pair of rollers positioned in an adhesive container which applies the adhesive to the block spine.
  • the pair of rollers consists of two extremely fast rotating rollers, which rotate in opposite directions to each other.
  • a gluing station which is intended for the adhesive binding of leaf blocks.
  • movable clamping means are provided.
  • WO 00/69651 A1 a method and a device for the binding of books, book blocks, brochures and the like are known, which include two different embodiments.
  • a first embodiment has a rocker movable by means of a slotted guide adhesive pad, which acts on the block back.
  • the adhesive pad by means of a scissors table rocker and thus moving or massaging moves.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a gluing station of the type mentioned, which achieves a quick and secure perfect binding with simple means.
  • the clamping means fix the blade block in such a way that a block section provided with the block back to be glued protrudes freely fanned out of the clamping means by a defined length of preferably at least 50 mm.
  • This free projecting block portion can thus be folded and skewed to the desired side, thereby increasing the fanning of the block spine, i. the slight shift of all leaf margins relative to each other, results.
  • the clamping means engage on opposite outer sides of the projecting block portion of the sheet block with the aid of fixing jaws, which pressure-load at least the respective outer side of the sheet block.
  • the clamping means are provided with linear actuators, which are connected in their front end region in each case with the associated fixing jaws.
  • At least one linear actuator is aligned at an acute angle relative to an adjacent outer side of the blade block in the direction of the block spine. This makes it possible that on at least one of the two outer sides of the sheet block defining outer sheets and optionally on corresponding underlying leaves a tensile stress is applied to the block back out, the waves of each, as End serving outer leaf and corresponding underlying leaves prevented.
  • the clamping means are movable so that the block back can be converted into two obliquely inclined directions of obliquity.
  • the clamping means can thus buckle the freely projecting block portion both to one direction and to the other direction in a Schrägiquessposition. This makes it possible to provide the sheet edges first on one side and after moving on the other side with adhesive. When transferring to the second side, the adhesive applied on the first side of each sheet edge is necessarily already attached to the other side of the sheet of the adjacent sheet edge.
  • the at least one adhesive application roller is associated with a roller drive, by means of which the adhesive application roller can be driven in different directions of rotation.
  • a roller drive by means of which the adhesive application roller can be driven in different directions of rotation.
  • only a single adhesive applicator roll is provided. By either opposite or in the same direction rotation of the adhesive applicator roll different effects can be achieved.
  • During the counter run of the adhesive applicator blade edges of the block spine are additionally mechanically deformed. As a result, a Aufpilzung the block spine is achieved, which is desired for some perfect binding.
  • the carriage guide bearing rocker is arranged on a horizontally movable compensation table. Due to the horizontal movability of the compensation table, it is possible to tailor the carriage guide and thus the adhesive application to different thickness sheet blocks.
  • the compensating table is associated with an adjusting device, which tunes the horizontal travel of the compensation table to differences in the thickness of different leaf blocks.
  • the adjusting device detects the respective thickness of the sheet block clamped by the clamping means and moves the compensation table so that the adhesive application roller in each case comes into contact with the block spine.
  • the adjusting device on both sides of the sheet block each have a fixed stop connected to the compensation table, which is positioned at the height of the sheet block and comes to rest on the sheet block or on a component adjacent to the sheet block.
  • a gluing station according to FIGS. 1 to 4 serves to create adhesive bindings in the case of sheet blocks for books, brochures or similar printed products, which are produced in particular in a smaller edition.
  • a sheet block in the form of a stack of sheets at the gluing station guide and clamping means 4 are provided, which align together with other clamping means in the form of jaws 7, the respective sheet block 1 vertically such that a to be provided with the perfect binding block back 2 at an underside of vertically aligned leaf block 1 is provided.
  • the clamping means 7, 4 fix the sheet block 1 in the vertically oriented position such that below the clamping jaws 7, a lower block portion 3 of the sheet block 1 protrudes freely downwards.
  • the underside of the freely projecting block section 3 is formed by the block back 2.
  • the feeding and fixing of each reaching into the gluing station blade block 1, 1a is designed such that the of the jaws 7 downwardly projecting, free block portion 3, 3a has a defined length of presently 70mm.
  • clamping means 5, 6 The below the clamping jaws 7 downwardly projecting block portion 3 is inclined by clamping means 5, 6 in preparation for a Beleimvorgangs according to the illustration of FIG. 1.
  • linear actuators 6 are provided, by means of which the fixing jaws 5 against the respective outer side of the block portion 3 can be pressed or removed from this.
  • the jaws 7 are slidably held on an unspecified frame of the gluing station, on the one hand to release the leaf block 1 and on the other hand to clamp this.
  • the linear actuators which are in the present case designed as a clamping cylinder 6, stored.
  • the clamping cylinders 6 are positioned on opposite sides of the block portion 3 and connected to a respective fixing jaws 5, which engages on the respective outer side of the block portion 3.
  • Each fixing jaws 5 is at least substantially cylindrical in the illustrated embodiment and extends parallel to the outer plane of the sheet block 1.
  • the clamping cylinder 6 are provided in a manner not shown with drive means in the form of pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical units.
  • the control preferably takes place via a central control of the gluing station, which has further control components described in more detail below.
  • Each fixing jaw 5 is suspended by means of two bearing brackets in the region of a guide shaft 8 on the associated jaws 7 as shown in FIG.
  • the clamping cylinders 6 are in the region of their, the respective fixing jaws 5 opposite end to a bearing block 9 suspended pivotally.
  • the bearing block 9 is part of the frame of the gluing station.
  • the clamping cylinders 6, including the piston rods carrying the fixing jaws 5, project obliquely downwards from the bearing block 9, so that the plane of movement of each clamping cylinder is at an acute angle to the vertical and thus to the leaf level of the leaf block in FIG unfolded state of the block section 3 runs.
  • an oblique direction of the block section 3 inevitably causes the block back 2, which is inclined relative to the horizontal, to be oriented, which is formed by the lower-side sheet edges of the sheet block 1.
  • this inevitably achieves a certain fanning of the sheet stack in the area of the block spine, i. each blade edge shifts relative to the adjacent blade edge by a small amount.
  • a small part of the lateral leaf surface above the edge of the sheet appears in each case.
  • the clamping means 5, 6 can attack at an acute angle to the outer sides of the block portion 3 with pressure load, in particular in the same direction curved sheet outer side, in the drawing plane of FIG. 3 on the right sheet outer side, a tensile load down exerted, whereby the corresponding outer leaf of the leaf block 1 is stretched downward.
  • some of the corresponding underlying leaves are tightened. As a result, an unwanted curl of the outer leaf and the underlying leaves is reliably avoided.
  • an adhesive application device 10 is provided, which can be displaced in a linear movement by means of a carriage 14 on a carriage guide 15.
  • the slide guide 15 is aligned almost parallel to the obliquely directed block spine 2, so that the slide 14 carrying the adhesive applicator 10 is mounted linearly parallel to the block back and thus parallel to the lower-side edge edges of the sheet block 1.
  • the almost parallel orientation in the present embodiment means that the carriage 14 is moved linearly in an angle of attack of 2 ° relative to the block back.
  • the adhesive application device 10 is provided with a rotatable and driven by a drive 13 adhesive applicator roll 11, which is for an adhesive application on the block spine 2 along this block spine 2 detox 2008bar.
  • the adhesive applicator roller 11 projects partially into an adhesive bath 12, which is part of the adhesive application device 10.
  • the adhesive applicator roller 11 rotates counterclockwise so that it passes in the same direction at the leaf edges of the block spine. Consequently, the doctor indicated in FIG. 1 is on the right side of the adhesive application roller 11 in its functional position. The opposite doctor is spaced from the jacket of the adhesive applicator roll 11 and thus is in its rest position.
  • the carriage guide 15 is set parallel to the block back 2 obliquely.
  • the clamping cylinders 6 are controlled in such a way that the free block section 3 is tilted as far as possible, that results in a defined oblique direction of the block spine 2.
  • the inclination of the carriage guide by the controller is made such that the parallel alignment with the block back 2 is achieved.
  • the pivot axis 17 extends parallel to a rotational axis of the adhesive application roller 11.
  • On a left in Fig. 1 page engages the carriage guide 15 to an actuating cylinder 21 which causes the desired inclination by pivoting the carriage guide 15 on the rocker 16.
  • the carriage 14 is linearly displaceable on the carriage guide 15 by means of a spindle drive 25.
  • the drive for the spindle drive 25 is an electric motor 23 which is connected by means of a toothed belt drive 24 to the spindle drive 25.
  • the rocker 16 is mounted on a compensation table 18 which is mounted horizontally movable by means of linear guides 20 relative to the frame-side, stationary guide rail 19. Horizontal movement movements of the compensation table 18 are caused by a drive means, in the present case in the form of an actuating cylinder 22, which is articulated on the one hand stationary and on the other hand on the compensation table 18.
  • a drive means in the present case in the form of an actuating cylinder 22, which is articulated on the one hand stationary and on the other hand on the compensation table 18.
  • Fixedly mounted on the compensation table 18 are vertically upwardly projecting webs 26 which terminate at the level of the clamping jaws 7. In their upper end regions, the webs 26 each have a perpendicular to the inside, ie towards the respective clamping cylinder 6 out, projecting support stop 27, which cooperate respectively with the rear abutment surfaces 28 of the jaws 7.
  • the columnar webs 26 are arranged laterally outside the path of movement of the carriage 24, so that the movement of the carriage 14 is not hindered by these webs 26.
  • the jaws 7 protrude at least on one side according to Fig. 3 laterally across the width of the sheet block 1 to the outside, to provide the corresponding stop surface 28 for the associated support stop 27.
  • the webs 26 and thus also the support stops 27 are positioned on the leveling table 18 that at a contact of the respective support web 27 on the associated jaws 7 of the carriage 14 and thus the adhesive applicator roller 11 is necessarily positioned so that the adhesive applicator roll when driving past the block back 2 can cause a glue application.
  • the plane of the block spine 2 and a tangential plane on a jacket upper side of the adhesive application roller 11 are therefore at least largely identical.
  • the free downwardly projecting block portion 3a has the identical length of 70mm as the free length of the block portion 3 of the thick sheet block 1, is at a Schrägonne of the block portion 3a parallel to the alternatively clampable sheet block 1 of the block back 2a by a few millimeters parallel above the plane of the block back 2 be aligned.
  • the adhesive application roller 11 is preferably moved at least once along the block spine 2 directed to the left according to FIG. 1 and then at least once along the block spine 2 which is directed to the right according to FIG.
  • the adhesive applicator roller 11 in opposite directions relative to the direction of movement of the carriage 14 and the oblique direction of the block spine 2 in opposite directions.
  • All the drive means of the various, previously described movement components of the gluing station are coordinated with one another by the central control in order to enable a proper application of adhesive.
