Description

The present invention generally relates to a support for label.

In a manner known per se, the labels may be paper labels or electronic labels whose use is currently spreading in stores, especially in large stores.

An electronic tag is in the form of a housing, usually rectangular parallelepiped, rather flat, on the front of which is disposed a display element, for example a screen LCD display. The display is controlled by a microprocessor, for example remotely controlled by the central computer of the store.

It is known, by the international application published under the No. WO 98/58360, such an electronic tag and a rail allows both the positioning it on the front edge of the gondola shelves on which products are offered for sale.

The label and the rail comprise means ensuring place the label by snapping into the rail which are such that well it is easy to put the label in the rail, it is impossible to move said label along the rail or to extract it from said rail if does not have the right tool.

The known supports are usually of width adapted to their positioning on the edge of the most popular shelves, ie shelves whose song has a thickness of about 3 to 4 centimeters.

Such a label carrier is for example described in the application International Patent Publication No. WO 93/19448 filed by HL Display. This support consists of a rear part intended to be fixed to a shelf and a front portion for receiving at least one label, said front and rear portions being connected by a flexible hinge. A leg connected to one of the rear and front parts by another flexible hinge and carrying at least one latching means, and complementary means carried by the back of the front part or by the front side of the rear part allow adjustment of the inclination of the front part with respect to the rear part. Such a setting allows make it easier to read labels placed on shelves located high or low, especially when the label is an electronic tag because the display screens are not legible only when they are in a plane substantially perpendicular to the axis of reading.

The support described in the international application HL Display however, has several disadvantages. First of all it is expensive to because it requires the use of a complex allow the formation of both flexible hinges and means of tilt adjustment. In addition, if it allows to tilt the label to 1 e to make it easier to read labels positioned in front of Shelves located at low height, the support does not allow tilting the label down to make it easier to read labels placed at high height.

In addition, since the means for adjusting the inclination is find between the front and back parts, so hidden by the part before, the latching operation of the latching means of the tab in the complementary means is carried out blindly and so is inconvenient. Finally, it may happen that a customer withdrawing a product from a shelf hits the lower back of the front part of the label holder installed on the immediately higher shelf and causes a disengaging the latching means of the tab relative to the complementary means, thus destroying the inclination setting which does not can be restored only by manual intervention.

There is currently a tendency to use shelves of which the song is much thinner, such as shelves in folded sheet, the edge of which has a thickness of 25 mm, or glass on which it is advisable to position adapted dimensions.

Such narrow-edge shelves have the advantage of allowing an increase in height available between shelves to offer the sale of products of greater height without changing the pace vertical spacing of shelves, or allow, at equal heights products offered for sale, a decrease in the spacing step vertical shelves and add at least one upper shelf additional. In the second case, the need to have available label holders which, when installed on shelves higher, allow the label (s) to be tilted downwards for easier reading, is even bigger. In addition, with shelves to narrow edge, the label holders project further downwards at under the shelves. Therefore, the risks that the front part of a label holder is struck from behind when a customer removes a product of a shelf, so the risk of destruction of the setting tilting of the label or labels carried by the impacted support, are bigger.

The object of the present invention is then to propose a support labels for products on narrow-edged shelves, which is simpler to make, so cheaper, with which the label can be presented under different inclinations both upwards as down, and with which, in case of collision from behind the front of the label holder, said front portion is then repositioned automatically in the upright or tilted up position or down that had originally been given to him.

For this purpose, the invention proposes a label support comprising a rear part suitable for attachment to a narrow-edge shelf and a front part adapted to receive a label and connected to the rear part by a flexible hinge located in an upper region of said parts front and rear, and means for adjusting the inclination of the part front with respect to the rear part, characterized in that said means of adjustment comprise a first abutment element, which is connected by a only holding by a first breakable connection to one of said parts back and front and which defines with it a gutter with one edge freeform is a first stop against or with which that party before takes gravity support on the back part to set a first, substantially vertical, position of the front part with respect to the rear part, said first stop element being removable by severing or breaking the first breakable link to define a second position of the front part in which it is supported by gravity against the rear part by adopting a downward inclination.

The support visible in FIG. 1 generally consists of a rear part 1 intended to be fixed to a shelf with narrow edge and a front part 2 adapted to receive a label not shown in the drawing. Said rear parts 1 and 2 before are connected by a flexible hinge 3 to allow a rotation of one of them in relation to the other.

This support is made by extrusion of plastic material, the flexible hinge 3 being coextruded with the front parts 2 and rear 1.

Said rear portion 1 comprises a leg or vertical wing 11 arranged perpendicular to a leg or horizontal wing 10. The leg vertical 11 is intended to be positioned in front of the edge of the shelf, not shown in Figure 1.

A gutter 12 is connected in one piece to the lower end of said vertical leg 11 along a first edge by means of a breakable link 13. The gutter 12 is completed along its second edge by a substantially horizontal rim 16, directed towards the front part 2.

The breakable connection 13 of the vertical leg 11 detaches the 12. Such a breakable connection is, in a manner known per se, consisting of a thinning of the plastic blade constituting the vertical leg 11. Said blade of plastic material may then be bent and broken at the level of this thinning.

At least one orifice 15 is pierced in the vertical leg 11, this orifice is intended for the establishment of a fastener for fixing the support. The support according to the invention being produced by extrusion, it is present in the form of a profile of great length including orifices 15 regularly distributed, for example at a step of about 40 millimeters along a horizontal line spanning the entire length of the support. When said profile is cut to length desired, the cut-outs are made so that the section less than one orifice and preferably two such orifices disposed so symmetrical. The chosen pitch of 40 mm is particularly suitable for the purpose of cutting media intended for the placement of labels e. Indeed, electronic labels usually have a lengths of 69 or 109 millimeters, the supports intended for their in place can then respectively comprise 2 or 3 orifices.

These orifices 15 may be rectangular with their sides of large dimension arranged horizontally.

The leg or horizontal wing 10 of the rear part 1 is intended for be positioned on the upper face of the shelf not shown in drawing. The tab 10 aligns the top of the support with the surface top of the shelf and ensure the horizontality of said support. A breakable connection 14 is provided near the end of said leg horizontal by which it is connected to the vertical leg 11.

In the example shown in the drawing, the front part 2 is overall constituted by a rail segment 200 intended to provide the positioning and maintaining an electronic tag. In a variant, said front portion may be formed by a gusset between the walls of which will be positioned a thin label, for example paper or cardboard.

The rail segment 200 is provided with a connecting portion 29 by which it is connected to the flexible hinge 3.

Said rail 200 consists generally of a bottom 20 and two upper and lower wings 22 perpendicular to said bottom 20.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, said wings 21, 22 have at their free end oblique surfaces diverging from each other as they deviate from the bottom 20 of the rail 200.

The upper wing 21 has a longitudinal groove 23 formed in its inner surface facing the lower wing 22. The lower wing 22 has a longitudinal rib 24 formed on its inner surface turned towards the upper wing 21.

Orifices 25 are formed in the bottom of the groove 25, regularly distributed along the length of the rail 200.

The upper wing 21 also has a groove 26 longitudinal formed in its outer surface and a closure flap 27 of said groove 26. The flap 27 is connected to the outer surface of the wing upper 21 by a hinge film 28. The free end of said flap 27 and the wall of the groove 26 opposite to that carrying the film hinge of said flap are shaped so that the end of said flap can be snapped into the wall of the groove 26 so that said groove 26 be closed by said panel 27.

Said flap 27 allows, in its closed position of the groove 26, to make the orifices 25 inaccessible from outside the rail 200.

The lower wing 22 carries a rib 24 formed on its inner face turned towards the upper wing 21.

In a manner known per se, the rail 200 is intended for setting up an electronic label not shown in the drawing, which is the shape of a flat parallelepipedic body carrying a display screen on its front face, the rib 24, groove 23 and orifices 25 constituting hooking means and retention of said electronic tag.

In its underside, the label has a groove destined to cooperate with the rib 24 of the lower flange 22 of the rail 200, while on its upper side, said label carries a retractable finger pushed back by an elastic means, and intended to be positioned in one of the orifices 25 of the upper wing 21.

When the support according to the invention is positioned on the end of a shelf and carries one or more electronic tags, the front part 2 pivots around the flexible hinge 3 due to the gravity up to arrive in abutment against the ledge 16.

The gutter 12, more precisely the rim 16 thereof, constitutes a first stop element limiting the rotation of said part before 2 so that it is in a first position for which is in a substantially vertical plane, as well as the screen display of the label.

In a manner known per se, the display screen of a label electronics is usually a liquid crystal display, so it is desirable that its plan be positioned substantially perpendicular to the axis of vision of the reader.

In its form shown in FIG. 1, the support according to the invention is then intended to equip shelves located at heights averages.

As shown in Figure 3, when it is necessary to equip shelves located at high height, the lower part of the leg 11, constituted by the channel 12 and the flange 16, is separated from the rear part 1 at the breakable connection 13 by sectioning or rupture of it. The front part 2 is then allowed to move relative to the rear part 1 up to a second position for which the bottom 20 bears against the lower end of the leg vertical 11 thus shortened. The label carried by the front part 2 is then downward.

According to a variant not shown in the drawing, the flange 16 of the gutter 12 can be removed by severing or breaking a link breakable 18. The front portion 2 then takes a third position, intermediate between said first and second positions.

When we want to equip shelves located at low height, the invention proposes to implement a second abutment element 4 such than that shown in FIG. 2. Such a second abutment element 4 is bent and is constituted by two branches 40, 41 forming an angle between they. One of the branches, branch 41 in the example shown in FIG. 2 is inserted and elastically tightened in the groove 12 while that the other, the branch 40, extends forward, towards the party before 2. The bottom 20 of the front part 2 is positioned by gravity against the free end of the branch 40, in a fourth position for the label on the support is inclined upwards.

It is better but not essential that the branch of the second abutment element 4 against which abuts the bottom 20 of said front portion 2 is disposed substantially perpendicularly to said bottom.

It is then possible to propose stop elements 4 whose branches 40, 41 are of different lengths to allow, by the implementation of a single stop element 4, the positioning of the label following two different orientations by inserting the branch 40 or branch 41 in the gutter 12.

According to another variant of embodiment not shown in FIG. drawing, at least one of the branches 40, 41 of said second stop element 4 has a weakening line so that the length of the branch with the weakening line can be shortened by folding of said branch along the line of weakness or by removing an outer portion of said branch by sectioning or break along the line of weakness, to decrease the inclination from the front to the top.

The support shown in Figure 1 can be mounted on a shelf with narrow edges by the implementation of an adhesive means under the leg horizontal 10.

It can also be mounted, as shown in Figure 4, by the establishment of fasteners 6 introduced into the openings 15 of the vertical leg 11 and intended to ensure the attachment of the support to a flange 5 directed down a folded sheet shelf. Said fasteners can then be screws, for example self-tapping, screwed into said flange.

The rim 5 of some shelves, like the one shown in FIG. 4 has a longitudinal groove 51 with a C section, made by folding the sheet.

The fasteners 6 then consist of a head 60, a short rod 61 and a cam 62 having a symmetrical contour with respect to the axis of the rod, such that, in a first angular position of the cam, it is adapted to be engaged in said groove 51 and, in a second angular position of the cam, obtained by rotation of about 90 ° of said cam, it is wedged in said groove 51.

When each orifice 15 of the vertical leg 11 is rectangular with its large sides arranged horizontally, the head 60 of the fastener 6 has a rectangular outline whose sides of large dimension have a shorter length than that of the long sides of the 15 and greater than that of the short sides of said orifice 15 and small sides are shorter in length than small sides of said orifice 15.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the fastener 6 is in one piece. The rod 61 has a portion 63 through the vertical leg 11 and a portion 66 extending into the groove 51 rim 5 of the shelf when the support is in place on the shelf. The part 66 defines with the head 60 a groove 6 la whose width corresponds to the thickness of the vertical leg 11 of the rear part 1. The part 63 of the rod 61 is connected to the head 60 by two chamfers 61b.

This makes it possible to maintain a temporary connection between the fastener 6 and the vertical leg 11 before the latter is applied and attached to the ledge 5 of the shelf. Then, the cam 62 of the fastener is introduced into the groove 51. The fastener 6 is then turned about a quarter of a turn clockwise using a suitable tool (Clamp or key to rectangular eyelet adapted to the head 60). During this rotation, edges 67, two to two opposite, between the facets 64 rub against the upper and lower walls of groove 51 and constitute hard points that must be crossed until it does not it is no longer possible to drive the fastener in rotation. At this moment, two opposite facets 64 of the cam 62 are in contact with the upper walls and lower the groove 51, which ensures the attachment of the support from label to shelf. The rotation in the opposite direction of the fastener 6 is braked by said ridges 67, which avoids any uncoupling untimely support.

According to a variant not shown in the drawing, the fastener 6 is in two parts capable of being assembled definitively one to the other, after passage of the rod 61 of the fastener through the hole 15 of the vertical leg 11 of said rear portion 1, by snapping of said rod, which is integral with one of the two parts of the fastener, in the other of the two attachment parts. In this embodiment, the orifice (s) 15 may have a circular shape with a slightly larger diameter that of the rod 61, and the head 60 of the fastener 6 has a contour of more large dimension than that of the orifice 15 of the vertical leg 11 of said rear portion 1 of the support and carries means for its drive in rotation.

When the support according to the invention is hung on a shelf by means of fasteners 6, it is possible to detach part of the leg horizontal 10 along the breakable connection 14 to leave accessible the openings usually formed along the free edge of the shelves for the establishment of separators.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 7, the part rear 1 of the support has two horizontal lugs 10, 17 constituting with an upper portion of the vertical leg 11 a fastening clip fit to be placed on horseback on the edge of a shelf very little thick as a glass shelf. Faces facing each other vis-à-vis of this fixing clamp are for example, and in a manner known per se, equipped with formations and / or a coating with a coefficient of friction preventing movement of said clip forward of the shelf. In another variant embodiment not shown in the drawing, instead of being connected to the vertical leg 11 of the rear part 1, the gutter 12 is connected by a breakable connection on the back 20 of the front part 2 so that said channel rests against the front face of the vertical leg 11 of the rear part 1.

Claims (20)

  1. Label mount comprising a rear part (1) which is able to be fixed to a shelf having a narrow edge and a front part (2) which is able to receive a label and is connected to the rear part (1) by a flexible hinge (3) which is situated in an upper region of said front (2) and rear (1) parts, and means for controlling the inclination of the front part (2) relative to the rear part (1), characterised in that said controlling means comprise a first stop element (12), which is connected in one piece by a first divisible connection (13) to one of said rear (1) and front (2) parts and which defines with the latter (13) a gutter (12), one free margin of which forms a first stop against or with which said front part (2) is supported by gravity on the rear part (1) in order to define a first position, substantially vertical, of the front part (2) relative to the rear part (1), said first stop element (12) being able to be removed by dividing or breaking of the first divisible connection (13) in order to define a second position of the front part (2), in which the latter is supported by gravity against the rear part (1), by adopting an inclination towards the bottom.
  2. Mount according to claim 1, characterised in that the rear part (1) comprises a vertical tab (11) which is intended to be positioned in front of the edge of the shelf and the first stop element (12) is connected by the first divisible connection (13) to the lower end of the vertical tab (11) of the rear part (1).

Mount according to claim 1 or according to claim 2, characterised in that the first stop element in the form of a gutter (12) has, on the side of the free margin of the gutter (12), a substantially horizontal rim (16) against or with which said front part (2) is supported in order to define said first position.
  4. Mount according to claim 3, characterised in that said rim (16) is connected to said gutter (12) by a second divisible connection (18) and can be removed by dividing or breaking of said second divisible connection (18) in order to define a third position, which is intermediate between said first and second position, of said front part (2).

Mount according to claim 5 or according to claim 6, characterised in that the legs (40, 41) of the second stop element (4) are of different lengths such that it is possible to give said front part (2) two orientations, towards the top, by insertion of the one or the other leg of the second stop element (4) into the gutter (12).
  8. Mount according to any of the claims 5 to 7, characterised in that at least one of the two legs (40, 41) of the second stop element (4) comprises a line of weakness of such a type that the length of the leg comprising the line of weakness can be shortened by folding of said leg following the line of weakness or by removing an external portion of said leg by dividing or breaking along the line of weakness, in order to diminish the inclination of the front part towards the top.
  9. Mount according to any of the claims 2 to 8, characterised in that the vertical tab (11) comprises at least one orifice (15) in which a fastener (6) can be put in position for fixing of the mount to a rim which is directed vertically towards the bottom of a shelf made of bent sheet steel.
  10. Mount according to claim 9, characterised in that when the mount is intended to be positioned in front of a shelf, the vertical rim of which is folded so as to present a groove (51) which has a C-section, said fastener (6) comprises a head (60) connected by a short rod (61) to a cam (62), which has a contour which is symmetrical relative to the axis of the rod (61), such that, in a first angular position of the cam (62), the latter is able to be engaged in said C-section groove (51) and, in a second angular position of the cam (62), obtained by rotation of said cam (62) by approximately 90°, the latter is wedged in said C-section groove (51).
  11. Mount according to claim 10, characterised in that the cam (62) has a contour which presents two large sides (65), parallel to each other and connected to each other, at each of their ends by a series of faces (64), the spacing of which relative to the axis of the rod (61) increases from one large side (65) to the other large side (65) of said contour.
  12. Mount according to claim 10 or according to claim 11, characterised in that said fastener (6) is monobloc, said orifice (15) is rectangular with its large-dimensioned sides disposed horizontally, and the head (60) of the fastener (6) has a rectangular contour, the large-dimensioned sides of which have a length smaller than that of the large sides of said rectangular orifice (15) and larger than that of the small sides of said rectangular orifice (15) and the small-dimensioned sides of which have a length smaller than that of the small sides of said rectangular orifice (15).
  13. Mount according to claim 10 or according to claim 11, characterised in that said fastener (6) is in two parts which are able to be assembled together definitively after passage of the rod (61) of the fastener (6) through the orifice (15) of the vertical tab (11) of said rear part (1), by locking of said rod, which is integral with one of the two parts of the fastener (6), into the other of the two parts of the fastener (6).
  14. Mount according to claim 13, characterised in that the head (60) of the fastener (6) has a contour of a greater dimension than that of the orifice (15) of the vertical tab (11) of said rear part (1).
  15. Mount according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the rear part (1) comprises a horizontal tab (10) which is intended to be positioned on the top of the shelf.
  16. Mount according to claim 15, characterised in that one part of said horizontal tab (10) is detachable along one divisible connection (14).
  17. Mount according to any of the claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the rear part (1) of the mount comprises two horizontal tabs (10, 17) forming, with an upper portion of the vertical tab (11), a fixing clip which is able to be placed by force standing on the edge of the shelf.
  18. Mount according to claim 17, characterised in that the two horizontal tabs (10, 17) of the rear part (1) have, on their mutually opposing faces, formations and/or a non-slip covering preventing displacement of said clip towards the front of the shelf.
  19. Mount according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the front (2) and rear (1) parts of the mount are formed by a profile which is co-extruded with the flexible hinge (3) and cut to a desired length.
  20. Mount according to claim 19, characterised in that the front part (2) has the form of a segment of rail formed overall by a base (20) and two upper (21) and lower (22) wings which are perpendicular to said base (20) and comprising hooking and retaining means for at least one electronic label.
