Abstract

The hinge fitting for a tilting pivoting door or window leaf (3) has an angle bracket (4) with a section fixed on the leaf (6) and a second section (8) on the outer frame (10), defined by a support plate (11) and a fixing plate (12). The support plate is fixed by screws to the fixed outer frame and fits into a U-shaped groove (18.18A) formed into the upper or lower cross member of the frame. The plate can have formations to engage with complementary formations (22,22a) in the groove.

Description

The invention relates to a hinge fitting for a door or window pivoting and / or tilt-and-turn, of the angle support and / or compass bearing type, comprising a movable part secured to the opening and cooperating through hinge means with a fixed part comprising rabbet fastenings of the fixed frame of said door or window defined by a support plate able to accommodate, in particular in a retractable manner, a fixing plate cooperating via said means of articulation with the moving part.

The present invention will find application in the field of building hardware and relates, in particular, so-called invisible hinge fittings.

Already known a number of hinge fittings for pivoting or tilt-and-turn doors, windows or the like, which have the particularity of not having a visible part, in particular on the inner side of the door. dwelling, once the opening closed.

Thus, it is known from FR-A-2,772,823 a hinge fitting, in particular an angle support, comprising a fixed portion and a movable portion. The fixed part comprises means for fixing in rebate of the door frame or the like, as well as hinge means, in the form of a socket or an axis, able to cooperate with complementary articulation means, respectively an axis or a sleeve, integral with the movable portion reported rabbet opening. In fact, the complementary articulation means are integrated into a covering strip that comprises said opening and which is provided capable of coming to apply on the frame once the door or other closed.

As for the fixing means of the fixed rebate part of the frame, they consist, on the one hand, by a defined support plate adapted to be reported in rabbet of the lower rail of said frame and on the other hand, by a mounting plate adapted to be mounted on the support plate adjustably at least in translation in a direction parallel to the plane of the door, window or the like. In fact, it is this mounting plate which receives the aforementioned articulation means.

This document FR-A-2.772.823 still refers to a bearing bracket type hinge fitting, intended to be used in combination with the angle support described above. This bearing support comprises, again, a fixed portion and a movable portion, the first having means for securing the sleeping frame in rebate, while the second is attached in rebate of the opening. More particularly, the rebate fastening means of the frame are constituted by a support plate on which is mounted by means of connecting means of retractable nature, a fixing plate secured to the movable part through a pivot hinge integrated in the cover strip of the opening. In order to be able to mount or dismount relative to the support plate this mounting plate, it is still movable, axially, on said articulation pivot, following a stroke corresponding, at least, to the existing rebate clearance between the opening and the sleeping frame, at the height of their respective upper cross. As for the connection means between said support plate and the mounting plate, they adopt, here, the shape of a buttonhole. More particularly, on the support plate is mounted, in forced rotation, a T-shaped stud having a head which, in a given angular position, is adjusted to the section of a slot provided at the mounting plate.

FR-A-2.795.123 discloses hinge fittings for a door, window or the like tilt-and-turn and / or French-opening, incorporating the characteristics of the fittings described above, knowing that the fixing means of the fixed part in rebate of the fixed frame are, in this case, supplemented by a receiving plate having, at its face opposite to that on which the support plate is attached, a configuration adapted to said rabbet of the frame sleeping. Furthermore, this receiving plate is pierced with openings for the passage of fasteners, such as screws or the like, and comprises means for fixing thereon the support plate.

In this regard, said support plate is further provided adapted to be pivotally reported firstly on this receiving plate, this in order to facilitate the mounting of the opening on the frame.

In the end, through the receiving plate, we come here to answer the problem of the adaptability of this type of hinge fitting to different embodiments of profiles constituting a frame or a door frame, window or the like.

It should be noted, however, with regard to the receiving plate, that if it can be configured on its underside, depending on the profile defining the rabbet of the frame, its connection with the latter is carried out at through simple fixing screws. As a result, such a receiving plate provides tear resistance depending, substantially, of the mechanical strength of said fixing screws.

The same problem arises in the context of the hinge fittings described in document No. 2,772,823 where the connection of the fixed part with the fixed frame is ensured through the single support plate.

However, as part of a first inventive step, it has been found that many woodwork profiles define, in rebate amounts and sleepers of a frame, a groove in "U", where appropriate bordered on the one and / or the other of its sides, at the level of its mouth, by a return hooking which, if it is currently used for the fixing of strikes, does not prove of any use in the mechanical strength of the hinge fittings.

In addition, it has been observed that such invisible hinge fittings pose the problem of integration of their constituent elements at the level of rebate play, between the frame and the opening. Also, we imagined, in another inventive step, to take advantage of the additional depth that provides such a groove "U".

In the same way, it is still known from FR-2,436,247 a hinge fitting, more particularly a support or angle bearing, having a movable portion adapted to be secured to the opening of a door or window and a fixed part which is secured to the frame.

In particular, this fixed part comprises rebate fastening means of the frame defined in the form of a mounting plate which is equipped directly with the shaft for receiving the ball joint corresponding to the complementary articulation means of the part mobile. These rabbet fastening means are completed by a nut in the form of a slider provided adapted to be engaged and to slide inside a "T" groove that includes in rebate the frame. More specifically, this slider includes snap edges extending under the returns bordering the opening of the groove. It is also traversed by two threaded holes for receiving fastening screws through, moreover, appropriate openings in the mounting plate.

Finally, if the latter comprises, at its lower face and at each of its ends, locating tabs intended to be inserted into the groove, between the returns bordering it, the slider comprises, it, a boss longitudinal through the opening between said returns to extend in a longitudinal recess under said mounting plate.

In sum, in the context of this configuration the holding of the hinge fitting is ensured, exclusively, through the returns bordering the opening in the groove in "T" that includes rabbet the frame.

However, as is apparent in particular from Figure 3 of this prior document, the walls that border the groove and the aforementioned returns, may be particularly fragile, especially when the profiles of the frame are made of plastic.

• this support plate and / or this receiving plate comprise hooking means adapted to cooperate, for a maintenance in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the frame, with complementary attachment means constituted, as the case may be, by the shoulders defined by the sides of such a groove "U" or by the snap returns bordering such a groove "U", or by one or the other of the shoulder and the return snap;
• the attachment means take the form of either one or more positioning shoes, or of a wing folded at right angles to the end, oriented towards the rear post of the frame, the support plate and / or the receiving stage.

In seeking to take advantage of the benefits provided by these hinge fittings, through a link capable of providing real resistance to tearing, it has been further imagined to associate a strike function with which is able to cooperate the free end of an operating rod corresponding to a lock fitting, of the cremone type or espagnolette-lock, and likely to be protruding from the rear amount of the opening, height, more particularly, one and / or the other of its upper and lower rails.

As shown in the figures of the accompanying drawings, the present invention relates to the field of hinge fittings 1 for opening 2 of door or window 3, pivoting and / or tilt-and-turn, of the angle support type 4 and / or compass bearing 5.

In this regard, it is more particularly described below and shown in Figures 2 to 4, a compass bearing 5, knowing that the particular features, object of the present invention are fully applicable to a corner support 4.

Thus, this hinge fitting 1 comprises, in all cases, a movable part 6 made integral with the opening 2 and cooperating through hinge means 7 with a fixed part 8, which is provided with fastening means 9 in rabbet of the fixed frame 10 of said door or window 3.

These fixing means 9 are defined by a support plate 11 able to accommodate, in a retractable manner, a fixing plate 12 cooperating via said articulation means 7 with the mobile part 6.

Thus, this mounting plate 12 extends, as the case may be, along the upper cross member 13 or the lower cross member 14 of the fixed frame 10 and comprises a flange 15 extending from the internal side to the dwelling and receiving the pivot 16 for the movable part 6.

Ultimately, this wing 15 allows to deport the inner side of the frame 10, the pivot axis 17 of the opening 2.

In this respect, in the case of an angle support 4, this axis 17 of the pivot 16 can be defined by a ball joint or a section of axis provided to engage in a socket that includes the part mobile 6 of the angle support 4 and extending, preferably, in a housing, provided for this purpose, at the overlap edge of the opening 2. In particular, such a covering edge comes to be applied against the sleeping frame 10 when closing the door or window 3.

It will be noted that the support plate 11, in particular in the case of a corner support 4, can itself be adapted to be attached to a receiving plate (not shown) which, not only, can facilitate, in some cases case, the mounting of the opening on the fixed frame, but, in addition, can be configured in a manner adapted to the type of profile defining said frame 10.

In any event, this support plate 11 and / or such a receiving plate which is associated with it, is designed capable of being fixed, by fasteners defined by screws or the like, to the fixed frame 10 while taking up a position. at the bottom of a "U" groove 18; 18A, arranged, as the case may be, in the rabbet of the lower cross member 14 or above 13 of the fixed frame 10. Moreover, this support plate 11 and / or the receiving plate also comprises fastening means 21, 21A provided for cooperate with complementary fastening means 22, 22A, defined by said "U" groove 18; 18A.

In this regard and as is more particularly apparent from Figures 3 and 4, such a groove "U"18; 18A can borrow various embodiments in rabbet of the frame 10. Thus, it may be more or less wide and optionally bordered on one and / or the other of its sides 24, 25, at the level of its mouth, a return hook 26 as shown in Figure 3.

Also, the support plate 11 and / or if necessary the receiving plate has a width 27 at most equal to the width 28; 28A of the "U" groove 18; 18A to come to position in the latter. Thus, in the embodiment corresponding to FIGS. 2 and 3, said hooking means 21 are defined, in particular, by at least one positioning shoe 29, in particular in the form of a boss of height substantially identical to the depth 30. of the groove 18, while its width is adjusted to the width 31 of the opening 32 of the latter, where appropriate extending between the return or hooking returns 26.

It should be observed that to take position in such a groove 18, the support plate 11 must have a width which, itself, is at most equal to this width 31 of the opening 32. the extent that the groove bottom width is greater, this support plate 11 in the absence of the positioning shoe 29 would not be properly maintained, at least before the installation of fasteners defined by screws or the like. Also, this could generate a positioning error of this support plate 11 at the frame 10.

It will be noted, moreover, that through this or these positioning shoes 29, this support plate 11 and / or the receiving plate is perfectly maintained in a direction perpendicular to the plane of this frame 10, this with respect to the sides laterally 24, 25 and / or return hooking 26, the groove "U", 18; 18A.

If, as indicated above, such a support plate 11 and / or a receiving plate is capable of receiving several positioning shoes 29 along its length to guarantee a perfect fit, it is necessary, however, to ensure that between such positioning shoes 29, it is possible to accommodate the fixing plate 12, possibly with a sufficient clearance allowing its adjustment, in particular in a direction parallel to the plane of the frame 10, without which such positioning shoes 9 induce an extra thickness the hinged fitting 1, in the rebate of the door or window 3.

In fact, and as illustrated in FIG. 3, such hooking means 21 may not only take the form of one or more positioning shoes 29, but also that of a wing folded at right angles to FIG. the end 34, oriented towards the rear pillar of said frame 10, the support plate 11 and / or the receiving plate. Again this wing angle bracket 33 cooperates, as the case, with the lateral sides 24, 25 and / or the return or hooking 26 of the groove "U" 18 to contribute to maintaining a direction perpendicular to the plane of the fixed frame 10 of this support plate 11 and / or the receiving plate.

In the context of the embodiment corresponding to Figure 4, there is shown a support plate 11 of width 27 smaller than the width 28A of the "U" groove 18A, so that the 21A attachment means here take the form of at least one positioning shoe 29A, extending on one and / or other of the longitudinal edges 35, 36 of the support plate 11 so as to come into bearing on the shoulders defined by the lateral sides 24, 25 of said "U" groove 18A.

It is understood that through the features of the present invention, such a support plate 11 and / or a receiving plate provides a perfect anchoring of the hinge fitting 1, whether it is a support of angle 4 or a compass bearing 5 at a frame 10 of door or window 3, made of metal profiles or plastic. Also, it has been imagined to take advantage of this anchoring quality to improve, from the point of view of safety, the locking of an opening 2 on its frame 10.

The fixed part 8 of such a hinge fitting 1 constitutes, substantially, a striker 37; 37A with which is able to cooperate a controlled locking member through a locking fitting equipping the opening 2.

More particularly, this locking member is defined by the free end 38 of an operating rod 39 which, in the locking position, is provided capable of projecting at the level of the rear pillar 40 of this opening 2, at height, as the case, the lower cross 41 or upper 42 thereof to cooperate with such a striker 37; 37A that defines the fixed part 8 of a corner support 4 or a compass bearing 5.

Claims (7)

1.    - the sash-frame (10) includes a U-shaped groove (18, 18A) provided for, as the case may be, in the fillister of the lower (14) or upper (13) rail of said sash-frame (10) and having sides (24, 25) as well as eventually a coupling bend (26) edging this U-shaped groove (18, 18A) on one and/or the other of said sides (24, 25) ;

   - said supporting plate (11) and/or a receiving plate associated with it are fixed, through said fastening organs defined by screws or the like, to the sash-frame (10), while positioning themselves or resting on the bottom of said U-shaped groove (18, 18A) provided for in the fillister of the lower (14) or upper (13) rail of the sash-frame (10);

   - this supporting plate (11) and/or this receiving plate include coupling means (21, 21A) designed capable of co-operating, for its maintaining according a direction perpendicular to the plane of the sash-frame (10), with complementary coupling means (22, 22A) formed, as the case may be, by the shoulders the sides (24, 25) of such as U-shaped groove (18, 18A) define, or by the coupling bends (26) edging such a U-shaped groove (18, 18A), or by either of the shoulders and the coupling bend (26) ;

Door or window (3) according to claim 1, characterised in that the coupling means (21) are defined by at least one positioning shoe (29) in the form of a boss or the like, the height of which is substantially identical to the depth (30) of the groove (18), while its width is adjusted to the width (31) of the opening (32) of the latter.

Door or window (3) according to claim 2, characterised in that the supporting plate (11) and/or the receiving plate include several positioning shoes (29) between which the fastening plate (12) is capable of being accommodated with a backlash allowing its adjustment, namely in a direction parallel to the plane of the sash-frame (10).

Door or window (3) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the coupling means (21) are in the form of a wing bent at right angles (33) at the end (34), oriented towards the rear stile of said sash-frame (10), of the supporting plate (11) and/or of the receiving plate, said wing at right angles (33) being designed capable of co-operating with the lateral sides (24, 25) and/or with one or several coupling bends (26) of the U-shaped groove (18) in order to contribute to maintaining, according to a direction perpendicular to the plane of the sash-frame (10), this supporting plate (11) and/or the receiving plate.
