Definitions
- the present invention relates to a guide assembly intended to support a sliding wall whose lower end is provided with rollers, said wall being capable of closing an opening whose edge lower is located at ground level on which is likely to rest particles
- a field of application envisaged is in particular, but not exclusively, that of external gates intended to block the entry of a enclosure or property.
- Gates intended to close an opening comprising two leaves hinged each on one edge of the opening and joining in its environment for closing it are known.
- Such portals require sufficient space to allow the leaves to rotate at least 90 °.
- sliding gates were realized ; they consist of a single movable wall or two movable walls, and they slide parallel to the partition or the mesh in which the opening is made.
- the size due to the rotation leaves are removed.
- the movable walls have, in their lower end, at least one rolling member bearing on the ground so as to at least partially support said portal and to make easier are displacement in translation.
- a problem which arises and which aims to solve the present invention is then to produce closing devices which only include rolling members intended to facilitate their translational training, but also make it easier to rotation of said rolling member which is inevitably braked or deflected by different objects, stones or particles likely to be thrown on the path of said running gear by vehicles or pedestrians crossing the opening.
- the present invention provides a guide assembly intended to support a sliding wall whose lower end is provided with rollers, said wall being capable of closing an opening whose lower edge is located at ground level on which is likely to rest particles.
- the guide assembly includes: a longitudinal receptacle arranged in the ground transversely to said opening; at least two longitudinal elements, spaced one of the other, arranged substantially parallel and above said receptacle, at least one of said longitudinal rail elements; of the transverse elements spaced apart from each other to connect the said elements longitudinal elements together, said longitudinal element forming a rail having free portions spaced from each other and overhanging said receptacle so that the particles, pressing on said longitudinal element forming a rail and obstructing at least said wall sliding, may be entrained between said portions free by said lower end when the sliding wall is actuated in translation, whereby said particles, under the action of gravity, are entrained in the longitudinal receptacle through the longitudinal elements and transverse elements.
- a characteristic of the guide assembly resides in the method of holding at least one longitudinal element forming a rail above of a receptacle by transverse elements spaced apart from others in order to provide free space for communicating the surface of said longitudinal rail element on which circulate said rollers and the receptacle.
- objects, stones or particles whose size is not greater than the space between the transverse elements, are likely to be driven by the end bottom of the sliding wall during its translational movement, with regard to said spaces and to deposit at the bottom of the receptacle.
- said rail element is thus freed from obstacles liable to interfere with the rolling of the rollers whenever the sliding wall is moved.
- the guide assembly comprises: a first and a second element longitudinal, mutually parallel located in the same plane, and an element longitudinal central rail, located between the first and second longitudinal element, and the transverse elements connect the element longitudinal central to the first and second longitudinal elements, by whereby said central longitudinal element overhangs said receptacle.
- the end of the transverse elements is bordered by the first and second longitudinal elements which, advantageously, are in pressing on the edge of said longitudinal receptacle so that said element longitudinal central rail and at least a portion of said elements transverse are maintained above said receptacle. So, the guide assembly is able to be disposed above the receptacle, resting on its edges, without major work.
- the two edges of the receptacle are continuously joined by the elements transverse. Rolling vehicles thus pass through without hindrance the opening above the receptacle.
- the space which separates the transverse elements is weak enough that the wheel of a automobile, for example, does not fit into it.
- said transverse elements are maintained parallel to each other and they connect said element perpendicularly longitudinal forming rail, so that said rail is uniformly supported on its entire length and that the resistance of the transverse elements to the stress produced by the sliding wall is maximum.
- said central rail element has a shaped section triangular whose point is directed in a direction opposite to the floor wall and capable of cooperating with the groove of the rollers of said sliding wall.
- the particles or stones cannot remain in balance on the portions of the central rail element located at look of the receptacle, they are deposited on the side of the rail at the level of the transverse elements. So when the sliding wall is moved in translation the lower end of said sliding wall and the rollers drives them substantially parallel to the rail, in the free portions of the rail where they fall into the receptacle.
- said elements transverse have a groove portion at the point of contact with said central longitudinal member forming a rail so that the end upper of said central longitudinal rail element is located in the extension of the upper surface of said transverse elements.
- the rail does not constitute an obstacle since it is embedded in the grid part, which facilitates the passage of rolling vehicles, and it therefore wears less quickly since it is less stressed.
- said the lower end further comprises contact means located at proximity of said central longitudinal member forming a rail for driving said particles between said transverse elements during the translational movement of said wall. So whatever the size of particles on or near the rail on the passage from the lower end of the sliding wall, they are efficiently driven between the cross members.
- the guide assembly includes two spaced apart longitudinal members one from the other so as to form a groove forming a rail, opening above of said receptacle and in which a roller is capable of being guided, and said transverse elements connect the two elements longitudinal outside said groove so as to form a single room.
- the rail-forming groove is formed by the contiguous edges of the two longitudinal elements kept spaced from each other by the transverse elements.
- the other two opposite edges of the elements longitudinal longitudinal are arranged in abutment on the opposite edges of the receptacle.
- the elements transverse are kept parallel to each other, as well as the elements longitudinal.
- said transverse elements and said longitudinal elements are interconnected to form at least one one and the same piece and more advantageously still they are molded one piece set.
- the guide assembly is carried out at a particularly advantageous cost.
- the guide assembly is molded from cast iron.
- Figure 1 illustrates the constituent elements of the invention and its operating mode.
- An opening 10 is formed in a wall one of the vertical edges 12 of which appears in Figure 1. This vertical edge 12 is perpendicular to the floor wall 14 on which rests particles or pebbles 16.
- a sliding wall 13,17 partially engaged in opening 10, extends the wall which ends at the edge vertical 12.
- a vertical section is made along plane A perpendicular to the walls of the opening 10 and to the floor wall 14, revealing a receptacle 18, of rectangular section, and which extends into the ground at least over the entire width of the opening 10 in the extension of said walls of the opening 10.
- the receptacle 18 is formed in the ground by digging a trench which is then laid out, either by pouring concrete to form the walls of said receptacle 18 or by inserting directly into said trench a receptacle in the shape of a trough and open in the part higher. It has a bottom wall 20 substantially parallel to the floor wall 14 and two vertical walls 22, 24 bordering said receptacle 18 whose upper edges are flush with the floor wall 14. Furthermore, the bottom wall 20 of the receptacle 18 has an outlet 26, which as will be explained in the following description allows the evacuation particles, but also water. For this purpose, so preferential, the bottom wall 20 of the receptacle 18 is slightly inclined longitudinally towards the drain 26.
- the receptacle 18, open in its upper part, is covered in one piece forming a grid 28, consisting of a longitudinal element central rail 30 which is arranged directly above the sliding wall 17.
- This rail 30 is supported by a plurality of transverse elements 32 substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receptacle 18, the ends of said transverse elements being connected by elements longitudinal 34 substantially parallel to the central rail 30.
- the grid-forming part 28 bears on the upper edges vertical walls 22, 24 of the receptacle 18 by means of its longitudinal elements 34.
- the grid part 28 has a sufficient mass. so that its weight keeps it above the receptacle 18 without the various vehicles which pass through the opening 10 do not move it.
- it is made of a material metallic with high density.
- the transverse elements 32 have a central portion 36 forming groove at the point of contact with the rail 30.
- the grid-forming part 28 is molded in one piece from cast iron, so that the rail 30, the transverse elements 32 and the longitudinal elements 34 are integral and made of the same material. So there is no discontinuity between the different elements of part 28.
- the longitudinal element has a rib 41 on its underside for be embedded in a corresponding rib on the edge of the receptacle.
- the wall 17 has a lower end 42 in which a slot 43 is made parallel to the sliding wall capable of receive a roller 44.
- the axis 46 of the roller 44 passes through the slot 43 right through leaves perpendicular to the sliding wall 17 so that the roller 44 can rotate in the plane defined by said wall 17.
- the roller 44 has a groove 48 of triangular section corresponding to the shape of the rail 30 so as to be movable and to roll on the rail 30 and to be held transversely.
- the weight of the wall sliding 17 is sufficient for the rollers to remain in position on the rail 30.
- the displacement in translation of the sliding wall 17 in the direction F mentioned in Figure 1 causes displacement in rotation and in translation of the rolling members 40 in parallel to the rail 30 on which they are supported.
- the sliding wall is supported by a plurality of rolling members so as to ensure its proper functioning.
- the lower end of the sliding wall is provided with means for contact not shown. These, held in a fixed position against the lower end of the sliding wall has a free end in contact with the rail so as to scrape the latter when moving the sliding wall. So even the smallest particles are likely to be entrained between the transverse elements.
- the contact means have a free end with brush bristles to make scraping more effective and adapted to the shape of the scraping surface and to the variation of shape of said surface during movement of the sliding wall.
- the rail is of semi-cylindrical section so as to coincide with rollers of bearing having a groove whose cross-section is U-shaped.
- the rail is formed by a groove 60 or 62 formed in the transverse elements, at the point of contact with the element central longitudinal 34 so as to guide, a roller 44a at the rounded periphery to coincide with a U-shaped groove 60 or a roller 44b at the acute periphery to coincide with a V-groove
- the guide assembly comprises two longitudinal elements 34 spaced from one another so as to form a groove 64 forming a rail, opening above said receptacle and into which a roller 44c is capable of being guided, said elements transverse 32 connecting the two longitudinal elements 34 outside of said groove 64 so as to form a single piece.
- the particles, stones or debris may be entrained in said groove 64 to fall into receptacle 18.
- the subject of the invention is not limited to the use of gates but at any other sliding wall, guided at its end lower by rollers bearing on one or more rails.
- machine tool doors mechanized carts, motor or linear motors.
