Definitions
- the invention relates to an electronic transformer or "Converter" according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the invention has for its object a generic To improve the converter so that this if possible is easy to handle, is inexpensive to manufacture and at the same time enables a high power density.
- the invention proposes an integral, in two different areas divided housing before, where overall an approximately beetle or tick-shaped housing shape results:
- the "abdomen” corresponds to a main area of the Housing, which is roughly contoured and to which in A stem connects to the front, which is narrower and flatter than the main area and which is offset in height from the main area followed. This results in a kink or height offset at the bottom of the case, which is the insertion the converter even in confined spaces supported.
- the narrow design of the stem allows it, the stem at the edge of the usually circular installation opening introduce so that the largest cross-sectional area of the Installation opening is available to subsequently convert the converter angle and also the main area of the case through this insertion opening into the cavity behind the Insert panel element.
- the converter corresponds to the currently valid in Germany Standards such as B. in terms of device safety Separation of primary and secondary part, or such.
- B. regarding a radio interference suppression by shielding, whereby despite the compact dimensions of the housing the arrangement of the for the standard-compliant construction enables necessary components is.
- Fig. 1, 1 is generally a converter seen obliquely from above referred to, which is an integrally manageable housing 2 has, this housing 2 a main area 3 with about has a circular contour and a stem 4, the opposite the main area 3 is narrower and an approximately rectangular Has floor plan, but with a slightly rounded shape Front 5.
- Ventilation slots 6 are provided, the Ventilation slots 6 are indicated purely schematically. Instead can also have circular holes or other designs Ventilation openings can be provided.
- Two primary-side connection cables 7 and 8 are lead with their one end each in the stem 4 and with each other End to plug or coupling elements, not shown, which is a primary-side input cable for Power supply to the converter 1, which is designated by 7 and a switched through, also mains voltage leading primary-side output cable 8 for connection of mains voltage lighting fixtures or others Converters.
- the upper and rear edge of the Main area 3 is greatly rounded, so that the housing 2 above of the secondary-side cable 9 forms a run-off slope 10, which facilitates assembly, as described above becomes. Furthermore, the stem 4 has on its upper and front Edge a run-up slope 11, which is also the assembly facilitated.
- the converter 1 of FIG. 1 is viewed from the underside.
- a height offset 12 can be seen, which as Sloping surface between the main area 3 and the stem 4 is designed.
- FIG. 3 and 4 show the two-part design of the one-piece Housing 2 to be handled in a second exemplary embodiment: Fig. 3 shows a view from the inside of an upper one Housing shell 15 and Fig. 4 shows the corresponding lower Housing shell 16.
- the two housing shells 15 and 16 can with the help of projections 17 and corresponding recesses 18 are locked together so that a quick, inexpensive and screwless manufacture of the converter 1 is possible.
- Ventil slots 6 in the embodiment of the 1 and 2 on the top transverse to those on the bottom of the stem 4 the ventilation slots 6 are in the embodiment 3 and 4 aligned in the same direction.
- the housing material and thickness of the housing material can either have no ventilation openings or any of Different configurations from the illustrated exemplary embodiments ventilation openings.
- FIGS. 5a to 5c of the converter 1 An installation situation is purely schematic in FIGS. 5a to 5c of the converter 1 indicated.
- the orientation shown here of converter 1 and its mounting direction, in which it is behind a ceiling cladding is essential for the Directional designations used here such as "up / down” or "front / back".
- the panel element 22 has an opening 24 with a Diameter of 58 mm. This opening 24 is used later Shot of a lighting fixture and therefore its diameter mandatory. First of all, however Converter 1 through this comparatively small opening 24 in the comparatively narrow cavity between the panel element 22 and ceiling 20 are introduced after the primary connection on the one hand with a power supply and on the other hand if necessary with another converter or with a mains voltage lighting fixture is.
- the converter 1 is first with its Stem 4 inserted into the opening 24. Because of the narrow Design of the stem 4, the converter can be off-center, be inserted near the edge in the opening 24, so that a comparatively large, free cross-sectional area of the opening 24 for subsequent tracking of the main area 3 remains free, as can be seen from FIG. 5a:
- the converter can go as far into the opening 24 and the cavity inserted behind the panel element 22 until its front Run-up slope 11 abuts the ceiling 20.
- the height offset 12 favors the converter 1 comparatively to be able to slide far into this cavity in order to subsequently to be able to tilt the converter so that its main area 3 enters the opening 24, as can be seen from FIG. 5b.
- the two lower side bevels make it possible 14 as well as the upper rear run-off slope 10 a trouble-free sliding or tilting movement of the converter 1 without disabilities due to canting or the like.
- the attachment favors of the secondary cable 9 near the lower edge of the Housing 2 the easy swiveling up of the main area 3. Since this cable is not on the side, but on the back of the Main area 3 connects, it has a wedge-shaped cross section Free space in its ready, lower Area where the cable 9 is located so that it is not on the panel element 22 is stuck and the further advance of the housing 2 disabled.
- FIG. 5c above and below the one provided with the ventilation slots 6 Stem 4 provided a free space, and also above the main area 3 remains a free space, so that even with one high power density of converter 1 and accordingly Adequate ventilation and heat generation Cooling of the converter 1 is ensured.
- Converters 1 designed according to the invention is by the advantageous embodiment of the housing 2 is in one piece Converter 1 possible, which is easily handled and assembled can be, even in confined spaces, such as, for example, with the dimensional dimensions mentioned in relation to FIG. 5 Requirements. Still, the converter's high performance enables so that at least four so-called low-voltage halogen lamps with connection values of 12 each Volt and 20 watts connected to such a converter 1 can be.
- the primary side Connect the connection cable to the main area 3 and the secondary connection cable to the stem 4, so that in contrast to the assembly process described Secondary connection cable first in the cavity behind the panel elements can be introduced and on Completion of the assembly optimally the primary-side connection cable are accessible.
