Abstract

This system comprises envelope elements (E1) intended to be placed end to end, the connecting edges of which are subdivided into simple edges (22) and rebate edges (20) intended to receive them. The connecting edges (22 and 20) extend beyond the top of the envelope elements (E) along a vertical return, and the rebate part (20) along this return is closed below by a part (120) of extension of said return, which serves for the upper end fixing of the envelope elements in the wall to be protected. Each connection between two casing elements (E1) has a simple connection edge (22) of one to be glued and locked at its top in the rebate connection edge (20) of the other. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a system for bench for the low protection of partitions or walls in industrial premises.

Low protection benches are necessary in particular for protection against handling equipment shocks in premises refrigerated where the walls or partitions are made up or covered with an insulating wall made of panels relatively fragile.

To date and in their great majority, these benches include a steel casing stainless or synthetic material such as composite glass-resin, formed of a series of elements arranged end to end. The seat body is made up of a filler material the said elements of which can be filled prior to installation, or else can be poured, in the case of concrete, after they have been placed, the envelope thus produced taking the place of formwork.

In both cases, the same difficulty lies in fixing to the floor and walls and connection between them bench elements, which must be performed to the best of conditions imposed by the rules of hygiene in force and secondarily the aesthetics: the envelope of the bench seat and its junctions on the ground and the walls to be protected must be as smooth as possible possible, and without continuity solutions, or nooks nor other irregularities in their surface, especially in the fixing points, to allow the maintenance cleanliness and easy and efficient cleaning.

A bench system designed for this purpose is disclosed in the French patent application n ° 2 704 259 in the name of Sodimav S.A., entitled "Plinth stainless steel with invisible fixing ". In this system, the envelope elements have along their edge upper intended to come against the wall to protect a back directed down. This return ensures the fixation high of the envelope elements by coming to be inserted in a groove formed by a strip with a Z-profile previously fixed on the wall. In practice, the installation work remains difficult and long to obtain a correct junction between adjacent elements.

The invention proceeds from a search for a solution more satisfying to this multiple problem of realizing a protective bench of the type comprising a outer shell, which is either aesthetic or smooth and without continuity solutions, nooks and crannies or others irregularities throughout its surface and in its connections to the ground and walls to be protected, i.e. fixed securely without the fixing means are visible, and can still be installed easily and quickly.

This multiple objective is achieved with a bench system for the low protection of walls or partitions comprising envelope elements intended to be placed end to end,
system characterized according to the invention in that the connection edges between them of said envelope elements are subdivided into simple connection edges and rebate connection edges intended to receive said simple connection edges, in that said edges simple and rebate connections extend beyond the top of said envelope elements along a vertical return of their wall directed downwards and intended to come into abutment against the wall to be protected, and in that the part of rabbet along said return is closed at the bottom by an extension portion of said return, so that each connection between two adjacent envelope elements may include a simple connection edge of one to be glued and locked at its top in the connection edge rebate of the other, after it has been fixed in the wall to be protected, at said extension portion of said return.

On each envelope element, the part of rebate along said return indeed forms, once the fixed element, a notch for locking the edge of simple connection of an adjacent element, which edge simple connection, after gluing in the rebate, will therefore be held positively and firmly in its upper end. Advantageously, said extension part of said return has a hole for the passage of a fixing means in the wall to protect, and the bottom wall of said rebate has a hole aligned horizontally with the hole in said extension part for the passage of a tool, which holes and fixing will be completely masked by said associated simple connection edge.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said envelope elements comprise straight elements to form parts of rectilinear bench seat, end elements and corner elements; and the right elements all have in a connection end on the same side an edge of simple connection, and at the other end of connection a rebate connection edge, while the connecting ends of said end elements and said corner elements have all with a rebate connection edge.

The installation of a rectilinear part of bench seat may thus consist in first fixing the two end elements and then next from one of these, the right elements. A finishing element will be required, the length from the last placed straight elements at the other end element. he will be obtained by cutting in a straight element, so that it has two connecting edges simple ones that will adapt and hang respectively in the rebate of said last element right and in that of said other end element.

According to another characteristic of the invention, said envelope elements present right through at their base, for fixing to the ground, a groove longitudinal recessed inward, bordered bottom by a horizontal return directed towards outside.

In a version of the bench system according to the invention, said envelope elements are intended to be set up first and then to be filled then concrete by tap holes provided in the the top of the wall of some of them. Alternatively, said envelope elements are provided before installation a seat body in light material such as synthetic foam. In both cases, said elements envelope are advantageously made of synthetic material of adequate rigidity such as glass-resin composite.

The different envelope elements E represented and referenced E1, E2, E3 and E4 in Figs. 1 to 10 doing all part of the same bench system according to the invention, they all have the same profile and have at the end of the same connection edges complementary to allow them to be juxtaposed with the following each other. They are intended to be pre-installed, then filled with concrete to constitute the body of the bench seat, as illustrated Fig. 1 where the marks C, B and F denote respectively a partition to protect, the body concrete and an anchor in the ground.

The envelope element in this figure is a right element E1, in other words an element for the realization of the rectilinear parts of the bench. he is therefore more representative than the others of the profile of the seat cover which has a part vertical frontal 10, extended above by a inclined part 11 and, beyond the ridge top rounded, vertical return 12, Fig. 4, intended for come to bear against the wall to be protected. In end, element E1 has on one side an edge of rebate connection 20, shown in FIG. 1, and on the other side a simple connecting edge which corresponds to the inner edge of the rebate 22, and to which was therefore assigned the same reference.

The front part 10 extends below in a recess or groove 13 bordered at its base by a horizontal return 14, which extends outwardly beyond of the front part 10. In the shape shown in Fig. 1, return 14 is used for lower attachment of the casing element E1, by means for example screws and dowels to strike, in a ground intended to be covered with a coating which will extended into groove 13 as shown in lines interrupted in the drawing.

As shown in Fig. 1, rebate 20 begins at the base of the bottom wall 15 of the groove 13, and according to the invention, it extends beyond the summit of the envelope element, as best seen in Figs. 3 and 4, in other words it descends on a short distance along the return 12 and then is closed at the end by a part 120 of extension of the return 12, the part 120 being in the continuity of the bottom wall 21 of the rebate 20 via a recess 23. The upper end of the rebate 20 thus forms a locking notch 25 for the simple connection edge 22 of an envelope element adjacent.

As shown in Figs. 2 to 4, said part extension 120 of the return 12 at the end of the rebate 20 has a hole 30 for the passage of a means of attachment to the wall to be protected, such as a self-drilling screw. And in the horizontal alignment of this hole, the rebate bottom wall 21 has also a hole 31 for the passage of a rod of screwdriver. Thus, during installation, the rebate edge 20 of an enclosure element can be fixed effectively in the wall to be protected, after which the fixing and tool passage hole 31 will be perfectly hidden by the simple connection edge of the element adjacent received and glued into the rebate, which edge simple connection will be held securely in its summit of being engaged in said notch of lock 25.

In Figs. 5 to 10 which represent envelope elements complementary to the right element E1 of Figs. 1 to 4, all parts that these elements have identically in common with element E1 have been designated by the same references, in order to avoid to have to describe each one in detail.

The envelope element E2 seen respectively from behind and from above in Figs. 5 and 6 is an element left end, of which the symmetric is exactly a right end element which therefore has not been place to represent. The single connecting edge of these end elements is a connecting edge to rebate 20.

Element E3 of Figs. 7 and 8 is an element re-entrant right angle seen respectively from side, face at one of its connecting edges, and from above. His connecting edges are both edges of rebate connection 20.

Finally, the element E4 of Figs. 9 and 10 is a outgoing right corner element, respectively seen from face parallel to one of its sides, and from above. As in element E3, its two connecting edges are rebate connecting edges 20.

The installation of a bench using elements envelope E1 to E4 is illustrated in FIG. 12. For the realization of the rectilinear part of the bench seat B1, end elements, i.e. corner elements outgoing E4 and entering angle E3 are first set place and fixed to the ground by their lower return 14, and in the wall to be protected by part 120 to the end of their rebate connecting edge 20. Then two straight elements E1 are placed and fixed to the continuation of E4; which leaves an interval up to element E3 of length less than that of a element E1, between two connection edges at rebate 20. This interval will receive an element E5, cut to the correct length from an E1 element, and so that it has two connecting edges simple 22 which will be received and locked within two abovementioned rebate connection edges.

Then, for the realization of the part of next rectilinear bench B2, the envelope element E2 end is first put in place, then at the following element E3, an element E1 leaving a interval to element E2 of just length lower than that of an E1 element. In this case, it can be advantageous to cut two elements to cover the interval, i.e. a first element E6 whose we will keep the connecting edge with rebate 20 to receive the simple connection edge finishing element E5.

For the realization of the rectilinear part of bench B3, we do the same by first asking the end element E2 and the inside corner element E3, and so on.

Note that the straight elements E1 have conventionally at the top of their wall an opening 16 for concrete pouring, shown in section at Fig. 11, which further allows attachment additional return 12 in the wall to be protected.

The finish of the bench seat consists of making joints, respectively in the gap around the covers of the concrete pouring openings 16, in the gap between the connection edges simple and the inner edge of their rebate destination, in groove 13 for connection with the flooring, and at the top between the return 12 and the wall to be protected.

Fig. 11 illustrates a method of fixing the ground to the envelope elements E other than previously described, which is particularly suitable when the bench must be installed on the flooring, or on a floor intended to remain bare. According to this mode of fixing, the base of the envelope elements is cut out horizontally, at the same height for everyone in the vertical bottom wall of the gorge 13. Falls resulting 17 are used as angles which are previously fixed on the ground and on which we just apply and fix the base of the elements corresponding envelope, i.e. the part remaining 15a of the bottom wall 15 of their groove 13, this is then filled with a seal shown in broken lines on the drawing.

In the above, the invention has been described in a bench system where the bench body is made by pouring concrete after the elements envelope have been put in place but it's fine obvious that it concerns exactly the same way a bench system where the envelope elements are initially provided with a filling block in light material such as polyurethane foam, maintained for example between their front wall and their return 12 which would then be extended for this purpose in one rear wall.

Bench system for the low protection of walls or partitions comprising envelope elements (E) intended to be placed end to end,
characterized in that the connecting edges between them of said casing elements (E) are subdivided into simple connecting edges (22) and rebated connecting edges (20) intended to receive said simple connecting edges (22) , in that said simple connecting edges (22) and rebate (20) extend beyond the top of said envelope elements (E) along a vertical return (12) of their wall directed downwards and intended to come into abutment against the wall to be protected, and in that the rebate part (20) along said return is closed below by a part (120) for extending said return (12), so that each connection between two adjacent envelope elements may have a simple connection edge (22) of one to be glued and locked at its top in the rebate connection edge (20) of the other, after this has been fixed in the wall to be protected, at the level of said pa rtie (120) for extending said return (12). Bench system according to claim 1, characterized in that said extension part (120) of said return (12) has a hole (30) for the passage of a fixing means in the wall to be protected, and the bottom wall (21) of the rabbet (20) a hole (31) aligned horizontally with the hole (30) in said extension part (120) for the passage of a tool, which holes and fixing will be completely masked by the connecting edge simple (22) associated. Bench system according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said casing elements (E) comprise straight elements (E1) to form rectilinear bench parts, end elements (E2) and elements angle (E3, E4), and in that the straight elements (E1) all have at one connection end on the same side a simple connection edge (22), and at the other connection end a rebate connection edge (20), while the connection ends of said end elements (E2) and said corner elements (E3, E4) all have a rebate connection edge (20). Bench system according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said envelope elements have right through their base, for their fixing to the ground, a longitudinal groove (13) hollow inwards, bordered lower by a horizontal return (14) directed towards the outside. Bench system according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that some of the envelope elements (E) have at the top of their wall an opening (16) for pouring concrete. Bench system according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that said envelope elements (E) are provided before the installation of a block of light material such as synthetic foam intended to constitute the bench body. Bench system according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that said envelope elements (E) are made of synthetic material. Bench system according to claim 7, characterized in that said envelope elements (E) are made of glass-resin composite.
