Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un système pour détecter et surveiller de manière automatique la position d'au moins un véhicule guidé (22), notamment un véhicule sur rails, et pour émettre des signaux d'alerte. Selon l'invention, dans le véhicule, la position du véhicule (22) est détectée et surveillée de préférence en continu par l'intermédiaire d'unités d'émission/de réception (18, 19) placées au niveau des voies ou des rails (21) sur lesquels circule le véhicule. Cette position est comparée avec des données prédéterminées ou préallouées, concernant le trajet parcouru. Selon l'invention, lorsque le véhicule (22) se trouve dans une situation dangereuse, des signaux d'alerte sont émis au moins à destination d'autres véhicules (22) se trouvant à proximité, en particulier circulant sur une voie différente de celle qui a été empruntée immédiatement auparavant, afin de permettre un accroissement de la fiabilité et de l'insensibilité aux défaillances.
