Definitions

  • the invention relates to a printing device.
  • cylindrical consisting of an assembly of a cylinder support, at least one printing sleeve intended to be mounted on the support cylinder and indexing means for mounting each sleeve on the support cylinder.
  • impression cylinder This printing device cylindrical will be called "impression cylinder”.
  • This indexing system consists of a recess made in the thickness of the printing sleeve and by a device cooperating with the recess, such as a pin cylindrical, fixed on the carrier cylinder.
  • This indexing pin is generally projecting over a distance of a few millimeters.
  • the recess can be produced throughout the thickness of the sleeve. So this recess practiced in a lateral face of the sleeve leads to the both on the inner wall and the outer wall of the sleeve.
  • the recess is not generally not made throughout the thickness of the sleeve.
  • the recess made in the sleeve for positioning on the device indexing extends along a longitudinal generator traced on the outside wall of the printing sleeve, this generator used to correctly position the printing plates.
  • a printing sleeve on a cylinder carrier is carried out by an operator, this operator bring in the indexing device provided on the carrier cylinder in the recess made in the sleeve while this indexing device is necessarily positioned on the side opposite the operator.
  • the operator must therefore proceed by trial and error to align the recess in the sleeve and the indexing device carried by the support cylinder. It is then produces shocks between the printing sleeve itself and the indexing device.
  • Printing sleeves are usually mounted on a carrier cylinder by means of pressurized air which is injected at one end of the carrier cylinder and spring through holes arranged angularly around the cylinder. This creates an air cushion between the cylinder carrier and the printing sleeve, which causes a slight radial expansion of the sleeve and allows the sleeve to move along and around the support cylinder.
  • the support cylinder has as many devices indexing than sleeves, these indexing devices being retractable and capable of projecting from the surface of the support cylinder.
  • Each sleeve has on one of its edges, a hollow to cooperate with the indexing device matching and mount the sleeve in a position appropriate. Furthermore, the fitting of the sleeves is realized by a compressed air supply.
  • the air pressure used varies the radial expansion of the sleeve and promotes, by creating an air cushion, an often violent propulsion of the printing sleeve which jerks forward on the carrier cylinder. So when the sleeve recess is not aligned with the device indexing provided on the support cylinder, the sleeve stops against it, causing rapid deterioration of the face of the printing sleeve having the recess.
  • each sleeve is done by trial and error, especially when the support cylinder intended for receive the sleeve is inaccessible and the sleeve is of significant dimensions and weight.
  • This assembly is therefore relatively long, which increases loss of printing time, prejudicial to printers.
  • the invention aims to overcome these drawbacks and to facilitate the work of operators by proposing a printing cylinder whose sleeve has a ring the protects against possible shocks and can also be used guide when mounting the sleeve.
  • the invention relates to a printing cylinder comprising a support cylinder, at least one sleeve print intended to be mounted on said cylinder support and indexing means of each sleeve on the support cylinder, these indexing means comprising a recess or the like, provided on a lateral face of the sleeve and opening onto its inner wall, and at least an indexing device carried by the support cylinder and can protrude therefrom, the recess and each indexing device being intended to cooperate to mount the sleeve on the support cylinder by locating it, characterized in that the printing sleeve comprises at minus a ring in the extension of its inner wall and at least partly projecting from said lateral face, ring in which said recess is made or similar, this ring guaranteeing the shock sleeve between it and the indexing device, during assembly of the printing sleeve on the support cylinder.
  • the ring is made in one piece with the sleeve, in particular by machining.
  • the ring is an insert on or in the sleeve, in particular by gluing, crimping or direct molding.
  • the ring is made of a material elastic and shock absorber, such as aluminum or a plastic material such as polyamide, PTFE, polycarbonate, PU, PES or PE.
  • the ring includes means for guiding of the indexing device carried by the cylinder support to the recess made in the ring.
  • These guide means advantageously consist of two ramps, arranged on either side of said recess, each of them extending from the recess to the edge outside of the ring.
  • these ramps are symmetrical by audit report.
  • They can in particular be helical or else linear.
  • Each ramp corresponds advantageously to an angle between 25 and 60 ° and preferably equal to 45 °.
  • a stop is provided between the edge outside of the ring and the end of at least one ramp, opposite to said recess.
  • the printing sleeve of the cylinder according to the invention advantageously comprises a ring with a recess on each of its side faces, for reversible mounting of it.
