Definitions

  • the present invention relates to skis and snowboards with edges and in particular, it relates to safety edges for skis and snowboards the definition of the claims.
  • Skiing and snowboarding is associated with accidents like involuntary slips, Falls, collisions, etc., which are often painful and May result in hospitalization.
  • One of the reasons for such accidents lies in the inadequate safety of skiers or snowboarders, namely in that the edges of their skis and snowboards are not sufficiently underground like snow, ice, artificial snow, etc.
  • the Skis and snowboards In order to ensure that the skis and snowboards are held underground, the Skis and snowboards have special edges made of hard material such as steel. This Edges must be sanded regularly to ensure adequate hold in the Grant underground. The disadvantage is that such edges, depending on the Type of substrate, often become dull after a relatively short time and that they then give the skier or snowboarder no more adequate hold. Regrinding the edges is therefore necessary to ensure the safety of the ski or To ensure snowboarders. This particularly affects difficult ones Underground like ice.
  • skis are described in documents EP 622 097 and DE 24 59 980, the sides of which are designed to increase grip in the snow.
  • the pages of the ski of document EP 622 097 are shaped in such a way that they have several edges.
  • the sides of the ski of document DE 24 59 980 have at least one Hollow grinding on, so that part of the side is concave in cross section.
  • the ski side is usually also attached in such a way that it also has multiple edges, even with hollow grinding forms.
  • the object of the invention is to improve the safety of ski or Snowboarders and to prevent accidents when skiing and Ride Snowboard.
  • it has a safety edge as its task to show, which eliminates the aforementioned disadvantages.
  • This safety edge is supposed to Can be manufactured with proven materials, it should be easy to maintain and they should with common standards and procedures of the ski and snowboard industry be largely compatible.
  • the invention is based on the knowledge that the shape of the edges of skis and snowboards are crucial for keeping the skier or snowboarder on the Is underground.
  • the invention relates to safety edges for skis and snowboards, as well as skis and snowboards, which contain safety edges, the cross section of the safety edges is so variable over its length that they indentations or bulges having.
  • the security edges are preferably in length, width and Height depending on the type of ski or snowboard type and offer due to their Shape continues to hold on even when the cut is no longer sharp Surface such as snow, ice, artificial snow, etc.
  • Fig. 1 shows a cross section through part of an edge for skis or State-of-the-art snowboards.
  • a ski or snowboard Edges 3 made of hard material such as steel. Other Edge materials can also with knowledge of the present invention be used.
  • These edges 3 are in the ski or snowboard between Covering 4 and flooring 5 attached.
  • the edge 3 according to the state of the Technology has a uniform thickness over the length of the ski or Snowboards on.
  • FIG. 2 to 4 show top views of parts of exemplary embodiments a ski or snowboard 1 with indentations or bulges 3 ', 3' 'in the safety edge according to the invention.
  • the first shows Embodiment of a ski or snowboard according to FIG. 2, edges 3 and Safety edges in the form of indentations 3 '.
  • the second embodiment of a ski or snowboard according to FIG. 3 shows edges 3 and safety edges in the form of bulges 3 ''.
  • FIG. 4 shows edges 3 and security edges in the form of indentations and bulges 3 ', 3 ".
  • FIGS. 2 to 7 show top views of exemplary embodiments of skis or snowboards 1 with indentations or bulges 3 ', 3 "at the safety edge 2 and 3.
  • the safety edges with one and Bulges 3 ', 3 "of variable thickness can vary in length, width and height Design according to type of ski or snowboard type.
  • FIGS. 2 to 7 shown as an example, at least one safety edge on skis or Snowboards 1 attached.
  • the safety edges or edge segments can be symmetrical or to be attached to the skis or snowboards on the opposite sides.
  • the security edges can also be asymmetrical or they can as well also not opposite on the sides of skis or snowboards be attached.
  • the indentations and bulges are 3 ', 3 "5cm long and 0.1 to 0.2 cm deep.
  • the number and arrangement of the indentations and bulges 3 ', 3 "on the sides of the skis or snowboards varies.
  • Fig. 5 shows an example a downhill ski with an asymmetrical arrangement of bulges 3 ", on the one ski side is three bulges 3 "on the other ski side is only one Bulge 3 ".
  • Fig. 6 shows an example of a carving ski with symmetrical Arrangement of five indentations 3 'on each side of the ski.
  • Fig. 7 shows an example of a Snowboards with symmetrical arrangement with three bulges 3 "on each Snowboard side, the front, middle and rear bulges 3 " are of different lengths and depths. Those skilled in the art are familiar with the present invention further possibilities of designing such edges and safety edges of skis or snowboards.
  • the safety edges offer a permanent hold on surfaces such as snow, ice, Artificial snow, etc. In particular, they give a very high hold in difficult Driving situations, such as when cornering, braking, etc.
  • the Skis and snowboards offer safety edges due to their shape as in and out Bulges 3 ', 3 "continue to give one even when the cut is no longer sharp permanent hold, what with skis and snowboards that only with normal edges 3 of uniform thickness, is not the case.
  • a first manufacturing method of a ski or snowboard 1 with Safety edges 3 ', 3 " uses a ski or snowboard 1 with uniform edge thickness, whereupon the edge thickness locally in one or Bulges 3 ', 3 "is configured.
