Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical connector for detachable coupling at least two electrical conductors with two releasably connectable Connection couplings for the electrical conductors to be coupled, with at least one of the two connection couplings to the outside is sealed off.
- a connector of the type mentioned in which at least one of its two connection couplings is sealed to the outside, is usually used when the electrical connector has environmental influences exposed to water, high humidity or the like is.
- a connector is used, for example, in motor vehicles in the engine area for the various contact points of the ignition system or for sensors, as well as in the body area for the exterior mirrors or used the sunroof.
- To seal the connection coupling the electrical conductor used in the connector usually cast with the help of a viscous plastic material that hardens and in this way seals the connection coupling to the outside and the contact parts of the electrical included in the coupling Protects the conductor from environmental influences.
- connection coupling at which the connection coupling opens comparatively gentle way can be sealed.
- the invention solves the problem with an electrical connector the features of claim 1, and in particular in that at least one of the two connection couplings to the one in question electrical conductor at least partially enclosing insert for sealing the connection coupling is preferably releasably attachable, and that in the insert at least one with a curable sealant Fillable chamber is formed through which the electrical conductor runs.
- the particularly sensitive section of the electrical Conductor with which the electrical conductor merges into the connection coupling sealed with the help of the curable sealing compound, whereby opposite the advantage of using a molten sealant, that the electrical conductor is not heated unnecessarily. That way electrical conductors that are picked up and sealed in use are shared used with the insert in the connection coupling, the Insert in turn seals the connection coupling to the outside.
- the insert is used proposed a bracket formed from two bracket sections is.
- the bracket sections can either be pivoted together be connected and to enclose the electrical conductor to each other to be folded, or they are designed as separate components, which are locked together to enclose the electrical conductor.
- the use of a bracket as an insert has the advantage that the Sealant can be filled into the initially opened bracket and the Then clamp to enclose and seal the electrical Head can be closed. It is special for this purpose Advantageous if there is a recess in each of the clip sections is formed, the closed the electrical conductor form an enclosing chamber for the sealant.
- the insert designed as a clamp can also be used as Fuse can be used that pulls out the electrical conductor prevented from the connection coupling after mounting the insert.
- Fuse can be used that pulls out the electrical conductor prevented from the connection coupling after mounting the insert.
- a clamp elevation which with a another clamp section formed recess for clamping the electrical conductor is engaged when the clip is closed is. In this way, the electrical conductor can be without its outer Insulation is damaged, gently and at the same time sealed in Use can be kept in a defined position.
- the clip sections are preferably detachable by a snap connection connected to each other so that, for example, when necessary Repair the clip released from the connector and then can be opened so that the relevant electrical conductor can be replaced or can be repaired.
- the insert is sealed proposed in the connector, at its in the direction of insertion seen in the coupling coupling leading one of these protruding circumferential edge.
- the peripheral edge is in a circumferential groove formed on the connection coupling can be received, which also for sealing with the hardenable sealing compound can be filled.
- a silicone gel preferably an, is used as the hardenable sealing compound two components to be mixed silicone gel used, the one one good sealing effect and resistance to environmental influences has and on the other hand with the various insulating materials of the electrical conductor is compatible.
- the inventive electrical connectors especially for flexible printed Circuits or ribbon cables used.
- FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a first embodiment an electrical connector 10 for detachable coupling two flexible printed circuits 12 and 14 are shown.

- a total of four passage openings 28 are formed, each in a contact part chamber 30 (see FIG. 2) for receiving open a socket 32.
- a similarly racetrack-shaped profile seal 34 is pushed on Purpose to be explained later.
- the locking section 26 has a support plate 36 of approximately rectangular Form on that with a constant radial distance from the plug section 24 stands out. From the towards the coupling end of the Connection coupling 16 flat side of the support plate 36 are to two sides of the plug section 24 two identical locking hooks 38 and 40 from, the hook sections of which face away from each other. From the opposite Flat side of the support plate 36 is a circumferential From collar 42, which forms a receptacle for the bracket 18, as Fig. 2nd shows.
- the collar 42 has two parallel to each other Wall sections of greater length each have a tab 44 and 46, respectively is arranged in the center and by two in the longitudinal direction of the connecting coupling 16 extending slots is separated so that the respective Tab 44 and 46 with respect to the collar 42 from the one shown in FIGS and 2 shown rest position can be bent at short notice.
- an approximately square locking opening 48 is formed, for reasons of clarity only those on the in FIGS. 1 and 2 Above shown tab 44 trained locking opening 48 is shown.
- the bracket 18 is composed of two bracket sections 50 and 52 formed on each of their side surfaces by a snap connection 54 (cf. FIG. 1) are interlocked with one another, for reasons of clarity only the locking connection 54 is shown.
- a snap connection 54 (cf. FIG. 1)
- each of the two Clip sections 50 and 52 are formed in a recess 56 and 58, which together with a closed bracket 18 a chamber 60 for Take up a curable sealant, as later is explained.
- a clamp elevation 62 formed with one on the lower bracket portion 52 trained recess 64 brought at least approximately into engagement can be.
- the clamp 18 clamps the lead through it flexible printed circuit 12, at the end of which the total four sockets 32 are fastened by crimping.
- Fig. 2 shows the flexible printed circuit 12 through the Chamber 60 of the bracket 18 passed, passing through the clamp elevation 62 is clamped in the recess 64, runs through the chamber 60 and emerges from the gap 66 of the bracket 18.
- the crimp connections 74 (cf. FIG. 2) are designed with which the receptacles 32 attached to the flexible printed circuit 12 are.
- the counter clutch 22 has a socket section 76 for receiving of the plug-in section 24 of the connector 16 to which one Locking section 78 connects, which in turn in a connection section 80 passes.
- the socket section 76 has two on it shorter side surfaces each have a molded bracket 82 and 84, in which introduced the two locking hooks 38 and 40 of the connecting coupling 16 and can be locked.
- a locking element 86 is formed, with which the counter clutch 20 in a correspondingly trained Bracket (not shown), for example, inside a motor vehicle can be attached.
- connection section 80 the one Forms receptacle for the second bracket 22
