Definitions
- Corresponding closures have been known for a long time, with this in the cap jacket integrated closure element typically an element of a so-called push-pull closure , which consists of a cylindrical part with a sleeve guided thereon, which delimits is axially displaceable on the cylindrical part, the closure in an axial position of the Sleeve opens a passage for the outflow of liquid from the closure and in a other relative axial position closes the corresponding passage.
- these closures are used on plastic bottles, the walls of which are compressible, so that a pressure builds up inside the bottle and the liquid through the opened closure can be squeezed out.
- Bottles with appropriate closures include very popular with children and adolescents as drinking bottles. These closures are also insofar very practical, as the closure is practically captive and the closure sleeve only moved axially, however cannot be removed.
- the present invention is not limited to caps, the corresponding Have push-pull closure elements, but is generally applicable to all types of caps for threaded neck bottles that have any additional closure element have, which is integrated into the cap and opened regardless of the unscrewing of the cap and can be closed.
- closures in question can be easily unscrewed, they can be reused so far practically not prevent.
- bottles could not be screwed on the usual screw caps, which are still to be used for such beverage bottles as well.
- Document US 2 998 902 describes a closure of the type "push-pull", on the one hand a coat - the for its part, a base part, which with the edge of a Container is to be connected, and has a channel - and on the other hand comprises a sealing collar which around the Channel can slide around the outlet opening of the To release or close the closure.
- the closure jacket includes a protrusion that mates with a on the outside of the edge existing projection for the insoluble fastening by latching the lock the edge should cooperate.
- the base part comprises of the closure jacket no thread, but an annular one Bead on the free end part of the base part of the jacket.
- the edge of the container to which this closure is connected should not have a thread, but an annular one Groove with the aforementioned annular bead for the insoluble fastening by latching the lock the edge should work together.
- the present invention is based on the object Set of a cap and a typical threaded bottle neck where the Cap on Thread neck is attachable, but not unscrewable or on other Way is easily removable.
- the cap and the bottle neck are coordinated and the Cap is firmly placed on the bottle neck and is due to its inner Projections and the retaining ring below the bottle neck thread in place held.
- This configuration of the cap enables a bottling company, such as a beverage manufacturing company, either caps with screw thread or with the invention Snap bracket to use.
- a bottling company such as a beverage manufacturing company
- caps with screw thread or with the invention Snap bracket to use.
- conventional ones can still be used Screw caps are screwed onto corresponding bottles.
- the type of closure can be tailored to the needs of customers. Certain markets can are supplied with one type of closure while others are supplied with another type of closure obtained without the PET bottles used for example as reusable bottles anything needs to be changed.
- closure cap also facilitates its manufacture, since corresponding Injection molds for caps, which instead of one attached via easily tearable connections Tear-off tape with internal projections and the additional internal thread to be provided only still has a substantially smooth inner wall with the retaining projection / projections, also accordingly is easier to manufacture and handle, and possibly also a simpler one Can have structure.
- the threads on bottle necks typically have an axial extension that. measured from the mouth of the bottle neck, at least 6-8 mm, you can provide that the distance between the inner surface of the cap bottom and the holding surface of the cap projection at least 6 mm, preferably at least 8 mm, and in particular at least Is 10 mm.
- This distance is specific for use on the now widely used PET bottles between 12 and 15 mm, so that a corresponding distance range is particularly preferred.
- the protrusion (s) are expediently in the vicinity of the lower edge of the cap casing provided that the axial length of the cap shell only needs to be sufficient to relevant locking projections to wear. However, he can still do a certain amount extend in the axial direction beyond the projections, since corresponding bottles in this Area have a support flange which has a larger diameter than the rest of the Bottle neck and its diameter is also larger than the outer diameter of the cap, so that the lower edge of the cap can rest on this flange, which in turn causes the Inserting a tool between the cap jacket and bottle neck for the purpose of lifting off the Cap can be effectively prevented or at least made considerably more difficult.
- the protruding through the most inward portions Defined smallest inner diameter of the cap shell should be large enough so that the Protrusions easily moved over a corresponding thread of a bottle neck and can only engage with the retaining projection of the bottle.
- the materials typically used for such caps are also sufficiently elastic, so that even if the inner diameter of the cap defined by the projections the cap is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the thread of the bottle neck nevertheless pushed over the thread and pushed onto the retaining projection can.
- the inwardly projecting projection as an annular circumferential bead is formed in another preferred embodiment in principle, one also assumes an annular circumferential bead, but with several interruptions has, so that accordingly several projections are provided, it it is understood that the projections or their holding surfaces, which are in locking engagement with the holding projection or the retaining ring on a bottle neck, the same distance from the bottom of the cap to have.
- the projection or the projections are expediently nose-shaped in cross section, with a lower ramp surface sloping upwards and one essentially radially extending or slightly inclined upward outwardly holding surface is or are trained. This configuration makes it easier to slide the closure cap on on a corresponding retaining ring and at the same time ensures a good holding force on the almost radially or only slightly inclined to the radial plane holding surface.
- the retaining projection on the bottle neck should also be appropriately annular circumferential bead with an approximately nose-shaped cross-section, with an upper, upward sloping ramp surface and a lower, essentially formed radially extending or slightly upward inclined with respect to a radial plane lower holding surface his.
- This is complementary to the design of the projections on the inner wall of the closure cap. This means that when the cap is pushed onto a corresponding one Bottleneck which is slightly inclined towards the closure axis (and towards a horizontal plane strongly inclined) ramp surfaces meet in such a way that they are relatively easily one above the other glide. Only when the projections mutually exceed their highest points have, it is locked by contacting the only slightly inclined to a horizontal plane or holding surfaces of the inwardly projecting projection lying parallel to this plane on the cap and the retaining projection or retaining ring on the bottle neck.
- the combination is provided that an additional below of the projection formed as a retaining ring or retaining projection on the bottle neck is a circumferential one Support flange is provided, wherein the outer diameter of the circumferential support flange is larger than the outer diameter of the cap jacket.
- the axial length of the cap jacket is accordingly matched that in the locked state of the cap on the bottle neck the lower edge of the cap shell sits on this support flange.
- the support flange which is usually used for handling the bottles, especially during transport, can be conveniently placed on the closures can also be used as a counter-holder, since the caps are pressed on in the axial direction must be and yet a certain amount of force must be applied to the projections to move over the cap and the bottle neck.
- the distance between the projections and the lower edge of the cap can also be dimensioned in this way be that the bottom of the cap with some tension on the support flange presses, so that the closure cap is axially fixed in this area.
- closure cap designated overall by 10, which consists of an essentially cylindrical jacket-shaped cap jacket 1 and one the top of the cap jacket 1 closing or covering cap bottom 2, with the central Area of the cap base 2 a multi-graded cylindrical closure element 3 is provided.
- a piece of sealing lip 9 extending downwards, which is intended to be located in a bottle neck close to the inside of the bottle neck.
- the cylinder jacket 1 of the cap has no internal thread, but only a plurality of projections 4, which protrude radially inwards from the wall of the cylinder jacket 1 and are evenly distributed over the circumference of the cap shell 1, being in the illustration According to FIG. 2, three of these projections can be seen, each of which extends over an angular range of for example extend 30 - 50 °, with a smaller sector between adjacent projections 4 is provided freely and without any projection.
- the projections 4 instead of being broken down into individual projections 4, too could be formed as a continuous circumferential bead or ring-shaped projection.
- all the projections 4 have the essentially flat cap base 2 the same axial distance. This distance is compared to conventional caps that Show snap edges, very large. For simple caps with snap edges, are the caps altogether maximally 5 - 8 mm high in the axial direction and the clear distance between the upper holding surface of a snap edge or snap edge projection and the upper The inner surface of a cap base is usually less than 5 mm.
- the cap 10 is intended to be placed on a threaded bottle neck to be placed, the large clear distance d 'between the top of the projections 4th and the underside or inner surface of the cap base 2 is provided in the intermediate, pick up the thread of the bottle neck from a thread-free area, without it bothering in any way.
- Figure 3 shows a perspective view of a corresponding bottle neck 20, which also has essentially the shape of a cylinder jacket, with an external thread on its outside 21 is provided and in addition a circumferential retaining ring 22 below the Thread is provided. You can also see, again at a certain distance below of the retaining ring 22 still a support flange 23, the function of the individual elements in the following will be described with further reference to FIG. 4.
- FIG. 4 shows the bottle neck 20 in a lateral external view in the larger right part, in the left section the wall of this bottle neck is shown in section.
- this can be seen in general two-start external thread 21, which, measured from the mouth edge 26 of the bottle neck, at the standardized bottle necks, such as those used for PET bottles in the beverage industry are known up to an axial distance of about 8-10 mm to this mouth edge 26.
- this retaining ring 22 is not necessarily a circumferential, continuous one Retaining ring or retaining bead should be, but could be interrupted as well as this also the case for the radially inwardly projecting projections 4 of the closure cap 10 according to FIG. 2 is.
- the retaining ring 22 typically has a slightly larger outer diameter than that Thread 21.
- the retaining ring 22 essentially has one nose-shaped cross section with an upper ramp surface slightly inclined with respect to the axis 15 24 and a lower, almost radially extending holding surface 25.
- Screw caps known per se are usually screwed onto such a bottle neck 20, the known screw caps corresponding to the external thread 21 Have internal thread and these screw caps also along their lower edge are provided with a so-called tear-off tape or guarantee tape, which is also has radially inwardly projecting projections and which, moreover, via easily tearable connections with the one above. Part of the cap jacket is connected. When screwing on the inwardly projecting projections slide over the already mentioned ramp surface 24 below and the projections provided on the guarantee band of the screw cap also snap together corresponding radially inwardly projecting surfaces behind the holding surface 25.
- the support flange 23 serves, on the one hand, to absorb any axial forces which arise the closure or act on the bottle and it is particularly used for detecting and Transport of the bottles in appropriate filling and closing machines.
- Figure 5 shows the closure cap already shown in Figure 2 on a shown in Figure 4 Bottle neck put on.
- the inside diameter of the cap casing 1 is dimensioned that the external thread 21 of the bottle neck 20 is still inside the cap jacket 1 Has space.
- the position of the projection 4 is such that the axial distance d 'that this projection 4 from the inner surface of the cap base 2, corresponds approximately to the distance that has the lower holding surface 25 of the retaining ring 22 from the mouth edge 26 of the bottle neck.
- the projection 22, which is also nose-shaped in cross section just projects the projection 22 engages behind, so that the upper holding surface 5 of the projection 4 approximately on the lower holding surface 25 of the projection 22 abuts.
- One of the holding surfaces 5, 25 or both can also be slight be inclined and their distances from the surfaces 6 and 26 can be such that the most protruding points of the two projections 4, 22 have just moved past each other can be and then the surfaces 5, 25 come into firm engagement with each other, the cap jacket 1 or the projection pushed away elastically outwards 4 springs back radially as far as the engagement of these two surfaces allows, so that the cap 10 firmly with a certain tension and essentially without axial play on the bottle neck 20 is held.
- the support flange 23 also serves to absorb axial forces, in particular when mounting the closure cap 10 arise, namely simply pressed or bounced on the bottle neck in the axial direction becomes.
- a corresponding holder encompasses the bottle neck 20 and supports the support flange 23 and thus the bottle neck 20 as a whole from below. It is understood that although the bottle neck 20 is shown in isolation here, such a bottle neck 20 usually is integrally connected to a bottle below it.
- FIG. 5 also shows additional elements 11 of the locking mechanism and 12, 13 shown a cap.
- the locking mechanism still includes the sleeve 11, which limits is axially movable, being pushed axially downward in that shown in FIG Condition tightly with the closure element 3 of the cap 10, while it is in one axially upward a passage for the passage of liquid from the Releases bottle.
- the axial play of the sleeve 11 relative to the inner closure element 3 is thus only between 1 and 5 mm and also the two end positions are preferred provided with catches so that these two positions are more or less stable.
- the additional covering cap 12 can, for example, be made of a transparent plastic material exist and it is in one piece with easily tearable connections 14 with a lower tear tape 13 connected, which in turn by an inwardly projecting bead with a corresponding, circumferential groove is locked on the inner closure element 3. Specifically means this that one can remove the protective cap 12, possibly the closure elements 11, 3 to be able to operate and open the closure, which must break easily tearable connections, to be able to remove the cap 12, in which case the tear-off ring or the tear-off or guarantee band 13 remains on the cap 10.
