Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour séparer des matières solides minérales en grains, telles que du sable, de matières organiques, de matières en suspension, de matières facilement ou difficilement solubles contenues dans un mélange liquide-solides, par exemple un mélange provenant d'installations de purification d'eaux usées. Selon ledit procédé, le mélange liquide-solides est introduit de façon tangentielle dans un récipient (1), au niveau d'un point d'introduction (13). Le mélange liquide-solides s'écoulent vers un point de sortie (16), dans le récipient (1), à une vitesse assez basse pour que, pendant cet écoulement les composants lourds du mélange liquide-solides6 c'est à dire essentiellement les matières solides minérales en grains, se déposent un formant un lit de sédiments (22). Les composants déposés formant le lit de sédiments sont extraits et éventuellement déshydratés. Le procédé selon l'invention se caractérise en ce que le mélange liquide-solides est conduit de façon forcée, de façon à s'écouler en spirale, entre le point d'introduction (13) et le point de sortie (16), au moins par l'intermédiaire d'une zone profonde partielle.
