Definitions
- the invention relates to a laying knife with interchangeable Knife blades.
- the laying knife is made of two shells that are articulated are interconnected.
- the knife blades are in the process recorded inside the shells at one end of the knife and so stored that part of the blade protrudes from the knife. The After the blade has been inserted, the laying knife prevents unintentional opening locked.
- Laying knives are used to cut various materials, such as Carpets, PVC flooring, all kinds of plastics, paper and the like.
- the blades used for cutting are subject to heavy wear and have to be changed often.
- the knife must be used to change the blade opened and closed again.
- the loose blade holder harbors dangers when changing, that can lead to injuries.
- the closure of such knives is in the Usually secured by screwing the two shells together. That's the way it is known, the two shells articulated to each other at the rear end connect so that they can be folded apart in length.
- Such a screw connection offers the for each operation desired strength for the holder of the knife blades, but it can be often not easy to solve, so tools are required. Also for that Turning on and off takes a lot of time.
- the thumb wheel of the screw is either arranged in the middle between the two shells, whereby it protrudes, or on the outside of a bowl.
- the wedge wheels are with Wrapping around the knife is annoying because it has a diameter for operation need that is larger than the knife cross-section.
- the Blade change the knife with the bowl receiving the blade facing down must be held to prevent the blade from falling out.
- the invention has for its object a replaceable To create a quick-release fastener that has sufficient strength and through a blade change can be carried out quickly and safely and none disturbing protruding parts.
- the solution to the problem is in the contain inventive features of the characterizing parts of the claims.
- the advantage of the inventive solution is that the closure by Reaching by hand during the work process additionally secured and is more effective.
- the laying knife consists of two shells, namely the upper shell 1 and the lower shell 2. These two shells 1 u. 2 are articulated at one end connected to one another, expediently by means of a connecting joint 5.
- This connecting joint 5 consists of attached to the bearing shells Thickenings in the form of knobs, which are arranged so that the Connections of one shell lie between those of the other shell A continuous bore runs through this connection. In this hole a pin is pressed in springily, around which the shells rotate and thus can be opened and closed.
- this rigid connection which is at Offering metal trays can also be a well known snap mechanism be arranged, in which a shell has two pins which in engage the corresponding resilient grooves of the other shell.
- the two Knife bowls 1 u. 2 grip through side guides when closing into each other that a lateral rotation is excluded.
- the two shell ends which do not form the fulcrum, are with one Blade holder 4 provided for the knife blade 3, so that this in unfolded state of the laying knife is easy to insert and fix.
- the closure of the two shells is formed by a closing element, the is interchangeable and can be replaced immediately in the event of damage.
- the closing element is provided in the upper shell 1 in one for this Recess 6 inserted and locked and by a leverage by one Axis rotated, whereby a pawl attached to the closing element into a Clasp firmly anchored in the lower shell.
- the closing element consists of a base body 9, which is preferably one has rectangular cross-section and the middle of its length with two Pin 10 is equipped. These pins 10 can in a center in Longitudinal direction of the base body introduced bore by they are press-fit into the hole and some on both sides Protrude millimeters.
- the base body 9 is a ring 11 as a lever assigned to the side of the base body and with the upper edge of the base body. Below the base body 9 is in the right Angle to the ring 11 a spring clip 12 made of elastic and / or resilient Material firmly attached.
- This spring clip 12 the task of a jack has an almost circular and / or elliptical shape and forms one Circular and / or elliptical arches of just over half of the closed Bow.
- the open end of this spring clip is longitudinally supported by a bead 13 completed.
- the closing element can also be designed as an element that is open on one side.
- the base body 9 is vertical and centered with a continuous Provide gap that also separates the pin 10 and the ring 11. This Gap causes the two pins 10 to be compressible.
- the Spring clip 12 is so elastic that it follows this movement.
- the base body 9a is in the center provided a continuous gap 17.
- the Base body directly two slide bracket 18, 19, the slide bracket with the Basic bodies are made from one piece.
- This is preferably an option Plastic that has an elasticity in it.
- the expanding wedge 22 is inserted into the grooves 20,21.
- the dimensions of the expansion wedge 22 correspond exactly to the mass of the Grooves 20.21 so that it completely fills the space between the grooves.
- the expansion wedge 22 is at its front end with two beads 23 and provided at its rear end with a thickening 26 between the two Bumps 23, a slot 24 is introduced into the expansion wedge through which two bead webs 25 is given an elasticity so that they easily together are pushable. If the expanding wedge 22 is inserted between the grooves 20, 21, then it slides up to its stop with its thickening 26 against the Basic body. As a result, it is inserted so far that the two beads 23 out slide out the groove part of the base body and spread outwards become. The expansion wedge is now firmly seated in the base body and can only by a squeezing of his two beads can be released again.
- the recess 6 is made in the upper shell 1 of the laying knife.
- the recess 6 expediently begins approximately in half the longitudinal direction of the laying knife and then directed towards the cutting edge. That's the Part of the laying knife that gripped by hand during the work process is.
- This recess 6 is so large that the ring 11 of the closing element has space in it.
- In the shell 1 are in the region of the recess 6 left and on the right two guides 16 are arranged, which are approximately U-shaped are, with the upper part of the U having a smaller cross-sectional opening has appropriate elasticity.
- the pin 10 of the Closing element can be pressed in, so that the pin 10 is fixed, but rotatable store in it.
- the guide 16 can also be introduced at an angle, so that acting forces do not slide the pin 10 out of the guide 16 enable.
- a support 15 is attached, on which the ring 11 touches the side when it snaps in and thus not in the ones below Cavity can be pressed.
- the guide 16 in the form of a blind hole provided, into which the pin 10 insert by pressing together to let.
- two grid webs 7 are arranged as a clasp, the protrude vertically from the inner shell. These two grid webs 7 are bridged above by a grid bracket 8, in one exactly defined height, so that between the grid bracket 8 and the bottom of the Shell 2 creates a free space.
- the distance between the two grid bars is to be chosen so that the spring clip 12 in its entire width between the two grid bars and under the grid bracket 8 slides through.
- Closure to ensure a good grip is the fulcrum around the imaginary axis of rotation of the pin 10 relative to that through the grid bracket 8 imaginary center line offset, towards the front the joint 5 opposite end of the laying knife.
- the function of the lock is described as follows. Will that Closing element with its two pins 10 inserted into the guide 16, so the base body 9 is rotatable about the pin 10. Now the ring 11 with a finger pulled up, the base body 9 rotates around the imaginary Axis of the pin 10, with which the spring clip 12 towards the rear Shell joint swivels. Now the two shells 1 u. 2nd folded and the ring 11 pressed into the upper shell 1. In order to the base body 9 is rotated again, with which the spring clip 12 with its Bead 13 slides under the grid bracket 8 and due to the spring action itself presses against the grid bracket 8. The bead 13 additionally prevents the Spring clip 12 can back without effort. By moving the The pivot point of the pin 10 relative to the grid bracket 8 is this Closing effect still supported. The bowls 1 u. 2 are firmly with each other connected.
- the laying knife is processed by hand to process the materials embraced that the ring 11 is in the palm of your hand and thus firmly and is immovable.
- the ring 11 with a Fingers raised again and guided forward, whereby the spring clip 12 with its bead 13 slides out from under the grid web 8 and the closure lost.
- the inner diameter of the ring 11 should accordingly be chosen that a finger is easy to insert. Since the space below the ring 11 a Is cavity, a good guidance of the ring offers itself.
- the closure element with its ring 11 can be in each of the two shells 1 u. Insert 2, so that the laying knife for both right-handers and can be made for lefties.
- the interior between the two Bowls is, also due to the closure element, so large that behind the A large locking element towards the hinge point of the shells Blade receiving space is available.
- a blade block 14 for Inclusion of blades provided in which the blades are preferably vertical can be inserted standing in the shell. The blades can be both loose and be stored in a dispenser.
- the closing element has so far been described with a ring guide.
