Abstract

Procédé pour stocker et conserver du bois vert rond ou scié emmagasiné dans une enveloppe hermétique étanche à l'air et à la lumière. L'oxygène se trouvant dans l'enveloppe est décomposé et forme du CO2 et H2O sous l'effet de processus de respiration de champignons, bactéries et cellules de bois encore vivantes. En outre, des processus de fermentation entraînent la décomposition d'hémicelluloses et de sucres qui sont convertis en acides organiques et en CO2. La teneur en oxygène dans l'enveloppe est inférieure à 0,1 % en volume après une durée d'entreposage comprise entre 3 et 10 jours, pendant la totalité de la durée de stockage et la teneur en CO2 augmente pour atteindre plus de 21 à 40 % en volume. Le procédé selon l'invention permet de stocker du bois vert rond ou scié sans perte ni pollution, sur une longue durée.
