Definitions

  • the invention relates to a packaging for a dental X-ray film, which has a light protection cover which receives the dental X-ray film and is provided with two tear-open tabs, and an X-ray protection cover for a lead film which protects against X-rays.
  • Packaging of the above type is the subject of DE-A-44 46 247.
  • the light protection cover with the dental X-ray film is arranged in an easy-to-open X-ray protection cover.
  • This also contains the required lead foil.
  • This packaging ensures that the X-ray protective cover with the lead foil can be used again and again, so that only the light-protective cover has to be disposed of after the X-ray.
  • the recycling of the X-ray protective cover however presupposes that, like all dental cutlery, after each use it is first disinfected in liquid and then sterilized in an autoclave, which is often perceived as annoying.
  • the invention is based on the problem of designing a packaging of the above type in such a way that it is easy to handle and can be produced as inexpensively as possible and in which the proportion of material to be disposed of remains as low as possible after each use.
  • the light protection cover consists of a moisture-resistant material and the X-ray protection cover is provided by a provided on one side surface of the light protection cover. is formed by an additional wall surface, open to one side pocket of the light protection cover.
  • Such packaging is very inexpensive to manufacture because it consists of only three layers of material. Two of them are interconnected on all sides and enclose the dental X-ray film in a light-tight manner.
  • the third layer of material is the bag for the lead foil. You can insert the lead foil into it before each X-ray and remove it after the X-ray. As a result, the lead foil can be recycled again and again so that only the light protection cover with the bag attached to it has to be disposed of. It is also possible to insert several lead foils into the bag if you want a particularly high level of radiation protection.
  • the covering can be designed as a pocket or as a coating made of a temperature-resistant plastic.
  • the outer wall surface of the pocket for the lead foil consists of a transparent material. In this way, it can be seen with the eyes on which side the lead foil is located, so that an X-ray image ensures that the lead foil is on the side facing away from the X-ray device.
  • the packaging can be produced particularly inexpensively if it consists of polyethylene or polypropylene.
  • tear-open tabs are molded onto it in a known manner.
  • these tear-open tabs can have a double function and can additionally serve to form the pocket which is open on one side.
  • a preferred embodiment can be characterized in that the tear-open tabs are turned against a side surface of the light protection cover and are connected to the side surface on two sides to form the pocket.
  • the tear-open tabs may be folded over to opposite side surfaces of the light protection cover and to be connected to the respective side surface on two sides to form the pocket. In this way, an upwardly open pocket is created on two opposite sides. This makes it possible to insert a second X-ray film in the pocket that does not hold the lead foil, so that the packaging according to the invention can also be used for double exposures.
  • Fig.l shows a first embodiment of the packaging after a first manufacturing step, seen from the front
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 shows a vertical section through the packaging according to Fig.l
  • 3 shows the packaging according to FIGS. 1 and 2 after its next manufacturing step, seen from the front
  • FIG. 3 shows a vertical section through the packaging according to FIG. 3,
  • FIGS. 1 to 4 shows a front view of the finished packaging according to FIGS. 1 to 4,
  • FIG. 7 shows a vertical section through a second embodiment of the finished packaging.
  • FIG. 1 shows two foils 9, 10 lying one on top of the other with an inserted dental X-ray film 2.
  • This can be a single foil which is folded over on the upper edge to form the foils 9, 10 lying on top of one another.
  • the areas of the foils 9, 10 which protrude downward over the dental X-ray film 2 form tear-open tabs 3, 4, which is additionally illustrated in FIG. 2.
  • FIGS. 5 and 6 show that a pocket 6 serves to hold a lead foil 7 and in this embodiment shape depending on the length of the tear tabs 3, 4 occupies only a portion of the height of the packaging.
  • FIG. 7 shows that the two ice flaps 3, 4 can also be turned over from the position shown in FIG. 2 to different side surfaces 12, 12a. Then a total of two pockets 6, 6a open at the top are created.
  • the upper edge of the respective tear-open tab 3, 4 can each be convexly curved upwards, so that it can be better gripped for tearing open.
