Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for ventilation a crankcase of an internal combustion engine, in particular of a motor vehicle, in operation after Preamble of claim 1.
- DE 29 10 713 A1 describes an arrangement for avoidance throwing oil from internal combustion engines with a between an air filter of an intake pipe and one valve chamber connected to the crankcase known crankcase ventilation line known, for ventilation of the crankcase Full load operation ensures. The oil should leak from the crankcase via the crankcase ventilation line be avoided. In addition there is one Equalization line provided between the Crankcase ventilation pipe and the crankcase connected.
- Another disadvantage is that extreme vehicle positions can cause the air inlet opening the crankcase ventilation pipe from which itself displacing oil in the crankcase will be flooded can, and the risk of a so-called oil hammer, the lead to damage to the internal combustion engine can exist.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object based, a device for venting a crankcase to create an internal combustion engine, by means of which air can be removed from the crankcase and ventilation even in extreme vehicle positions of the crankcase without oil discharge, or under Avoiding oil spill is feasible.
- At least one air inlet opening is the two vent lines arranged such that they during approximately horizontal vehicle positions or Oil levels are above an oil level. So can through the air inlet opening, which is above the Oil level lies, air is discharged from the crankcase become.
- the air inlet opening is located the first vent line or the second vent line below the oil level, and there can be no more air through the vent line, whose air inlet opening below the oil level lies to be dissipated.
- the air inlet opening the ventilation line above the oil level is released from the oil in this case, with what the air flow to be discharged through this from the Exit the crankcase without removing oil.
- Fig. 1 is an internal combustion engine 1 with a crankcase 2, in which a first vent line 3 and a second vent line 4 arranged are shown.
- crankcase 2 with an oil pan 5 and the first vent line 3 and the second Vent line 4 shown.
- Air inlet opening 6 of the first ventilation line 3 in the interior of the crankcase 2 on a low-oil Place arranged so that they are approximately horizontal vehicle positions or oil levels above an oil level 7. In this condition Air through the air inlet opening 6 from the crankcase 2 are dissipated.
- An air inlet opening 8 of the second vent line 4 is below the oil level 7 arranged. Thus, through the second ventilation line 4 no air from the crankcase 2 are dissipated.
- the arrangement of the two vent lines 3, 4 has the advantage that depending on a vehicle position or the oil level one of the air inlet openings 6 or 8 is arranged above the oil level 7.
- the air flows over the Air inlet opening 6 of the first ventilation line 3 into a kind of chicane 9.
- the chicane 9 has in Area of the air inlet opening 6 of the first ventilation line 3 a separating rib 10, which the Flow guidance of those emerging from the crankcase 2 Redirects air in such a way that the oil greater inertia than its carrier medium, in Deflection area is deposited on a wall 11, which thus in baffle 9 as an impact oil separator acts.
- the separated oil runs down the wall 11 and through an opening 12 into a downpipe 13, the end facing away from the opening 12 with a Siphon 14 is provided.
- the siphon 14 is U-shaped trained piece of pipe that at its the Down pipe 13 opposite end is formed.
- the one entering the siphon 14 through the downpipe 13 Oil is collected there and flows from a fill level 15 until the filling level is reached again 15 in the crankcase 2.
- the siphon 14 is thus for escaping air from the crankcase 2 advantageously not passable, causing a drainage of the Oil from the chicane 9 is not caused by an air flow is hindered or cannot be prevented.
- the exiting air flow is through a pipe section 16 from the chicane 9 into the second ventilation line 4, which consists of a riser 17 and a pipe socket 18 is formed, initiated in the area of the riser 17.
- the second vent line 4 has one from the air inlet opening 6 of the pipe socket 18 to towards its other end, at which a throttle 19 is provided on decreasing diameter.
- This configuration of the second vent line 4 gives it the functional character of a volume separator, which causes that is still in the air flow oil on the inner wall of the second Vent line 4 settles into the crankcase 2 flows back. As a result, no oil or only a very small amount of oil discharged from the crankcase 2.
- both oil separators i.e. the Impact oil separator or the wall 11 and the volume oil separator arranged inside the crankcase 2, which prevents contamination of the oil by impurities with foreign bodies outside the crankcase 2 is possible.
- the first vent line 3 and the second vent line 4 are essentially for the ventilation of the crankcase 2 during a partial load operation of the internal combustion engine 1 provided.
- Venting occurs during full load operation via another unthrottled, not shown, pipe independent of the partial load ventilation system larger cross section carried out like it the prior art, for example DE 29 10 713 A1, is known.
- This line carries the air over a larger oil separator to the intake manifold in front of the throttle valve or directly into a not closer Air filter housing shown.
- both air inlet openings 6, 8 are arranged above the oil level 7.
- the oil shifts in the oil pan 5 such that one of the air inlet openings 6 or 8 above and the other air inlet 8 or 6 lies below the oil level 7.
- Air inlet opening 6 of the first ventilation line 3 below and the air inlet 8 of the second Vent line 4 is above the oil level 7.
- Air inlet opening 8 is located in vehicle situations below and the air inlet opening 6 above the Oil level 7.
- This embodiment also ensures that depending on a driving situation at least one of the two air inlet openings 6,8 above the oil level 7 lies and a ventilation of the crankcase 2 can be done without oil discharge.
