Definitions
- the invention relates to a sports hat preferably with one of several textile segments sewn together, a substantially inextensible Headband, which has a free upper edge and a lower edge, as well as with a Umbrella which has an inner edge and an outer edge, the inner edge of the Umbrella between one edge of the cap and the lower edge of the headband is sewn in, see e.g. US-A-4 549 316.
- Sports hats of this type are known as so-called peaked caps.
- the umbrellas are made of stiff, elastically pliable thin material, as a rule made of plastic with a thickness of less than 1.0 mm.
- Less stiff Umbrellas on the other hand, have insufficient dimensional stability and are extremely high sensitive to kinks.
- the object of the invention is to provide a sports hat of the type mentioned train that their umbrella in the use state of the cap, so when they are on the Head is attached, has good dimensional stability. However, when not in use smallest space can be folded tightly without the next Use harmful consequences on the screen.
- a further development of the invention is that the inner edge of the screen at least approximately parabolic.
- a particularly advantageous feature of the invention is that the screen in straight condition of the headgear - seen from the front - one on the top middle convex section and two laterally adjacent concaves Forms vault sections.
- the convex curvature section preferably goes steadily into the concave curvature sections.
- the screen is made from a conventional neoprene foam sheet cut or punched out.
- This screen cut is can be crushed as desired and returns to its original flat shape without bending or Leave traces of folding.
- the middle screen area - seen from the top - receives a convex curvature, such that the front edge of the screen is curved in an arc.
- the screen springs back into its curved target position.
- the convex middle Curvature section adjoins a concave curvature section on both sides.
- a double curvature of the screen is created, which increases the dimensional stability.
- This both side concave curvature sections have less curvature than that middle convex curvature section and the side edges of the screen run to the The inner edge of the shade is almost straight.
- the peak in the sports hat according to the invention is particularly long thanks to its curvature, it cannot have collapse.
- the sports hat can be crumpled into a very small packet and store it in your pocket, for example, without having to Put the hat back on any wrinkles or creases.
- the dimensional stability of the The hat when put on is practically unlimited.
- the neoprene foam material used has the further advantage of absolute water resistance, so that the hat is ideal for all outdoor sports.
- the method according to the invention for producing the sports cap includes this Punching or cutting out a roughly crescent-shaped screen from a neoprene foam sheet with a thickness of at least about 3 mm and that Sew the inside edge of the screen between the edge of the cap and the Headband. It is essential that during the sewing in of the screen Inner edge of the screen under wave-like deformation of the outer edge is stretched straight at least in some areas.
- the sewing process is preferred carried out in two stages, starting in the middle and first half to sewn to the end of the inside edge of the peak and then then sew on the other half from the middle.
- the cap shape is irrelevant in the cap according to the invention.
- the headband is preferably formed into a closed ring, the circumference of which respective head size is adjustable, but the headband could also be a Have spring clip insert.
- the cap is preferably made up of a number Fabric segments together, although this is also not mandatory. The cap could shrink to a narrow top strip that extends from one side of the headgear the head goes to the other side of the headband. But even without this top strip is the screen e.g. only usable with a headband.
- a sports cap 10 consists of a cap 12 with an internal headband 14 and a screen 16.
- the screen 16 consists of a crescent-shaped in the first approximation Neoprene foam about 5 mm thick and has a light weight curved front edge 18, almost straight or slightly convex curved Side edges 20 and each have an arcuate transition section 22 between Front edge 18 and side edge 20 on.
- the inner edge of the screen 16 is 24 designated.
- the length of the screen 16 on its central width between the front edge 18 and inner edge 24 is at least twice the length of each side edge 20.
- the inner edge 24 of the screen 16 is between the lower edge of the cap 12 and the lower edge 44 of the headband 14 sewn.
- the inner edge 24 of the screen 16 runs approximately in a flat design parabolic, i.e. in the apex, the inner edge 24 has its greatest curvature and this curvature gradually decreases towards the two ends of the inner edge 24.
- the inner edge 24 on the headband 14 and preferably simultaneously on the Cap 12 is stretched the inner edge, i.e. straightened and also straight guided headband 14 sewn on.
- the screen 16 takes the shapes according to Figures 6 - 9, wherein - seen on the deck side - a middle strongly convex curved Dome section 26 and on both sides adjoining each have a strongly concavely curved Dome section 28 arise. In the side view (FIG. 8) the middle one Curvature section 26 a rectilinear contour 30.
- the stretching of the inner edge 24, So its straightening when sewing the screen 16 is essential for Dimensional stability of the screen 16 in its later position of use.
- the screen 16 is given a shape with almost simple curvature, i.e. 24 cuts placed parallel to the inner edge have contours that are approximately drop-shaped. At right angles to it laid cuts run almost straight. Only to the ends of the side margins there are slight inward curvatures on the outside of the screen 16.
- the visor 16 now takes on a shape that between those of the longitudinal extension and the transverse extension of the cap.
- the inner edge 24 is stretched uniformly in the radial direction, as a result of which the screen 16 receives a central convex curvature section 32, the radius of curvature larger than that of the curvature section 26 with transverse extension of the inner edge 24 is.
- the front edge 18 of the screen extends in this arch section 30 arcuate with approximately constant curvature.
- On the middle one Curvature section 32 closes on both sides in each case a slightly concavely curved Curvature section 34, which is also much less pronounced in its curvature than the side bulge portion 28 in the transverse shape of the inner edge 24.
- the cap 10 with its peak 16 can be packed tightly together, e.g. rolled, folded and crumpled uncontrollably and kept in this state for any time and the screen 16 still gets its smooth multiple when putting on the cap 10 arched shape again, so that the appearance and function remain unchanged.
- the headband 14 is split at the back and has two strap-like fastening ends 36, 38, which are provided with locking pins or holes are.
- the blank of the screen 16 made of neoprene material has a slightly curved shape Front edge 18 and almost straight side edges 20, the between the Side edges 20 measured screen width slightly reduced towards the front edge 18. Of the Radius of curvature of the transition arches 22 is smaller than that of the front edge 18.
- the headband 14 has a free upper edge 42 and the inner edge 24 of the Umbrella 16 sewn lower edge 44. Folds between the two edges 42, 44 46 formed, the straight sewn inner edge 24 of the screen 16 ensures that these folds 46 gusset-like from the lower edge 44 to the upper edge 42 widen. In the stretched state of the inner edge 24 and the headgear 14 the headband 14 runs wrinkle-free.
