Definitions
- the invention relates to a free arm umbrella according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Free arm umbrellas of the type mentioned are multiple is known, for example from US Pat. No. 4,606,366 has shown free arm screen shown in Figures 34 to 43 a jib that is rocked at the top of a mast on the hinged umbrella at one end wearing.
- the end of the boom facing away from the screen is over hinged connecting struts connected with the.
- the boom will fold down withdrawn and the umbrella closed.
- the screen is open because of a cable for an actuator attached at one end to a slide is that over support struts with roof bars of the umbrella connected is.
- This rope is up through an am Boom articulated umbrella stick and further along the boom led to haste on which the other end of the rope is rigidly attached.
- DE-A-32 29 776 describes a cantilever, in which the boom with a universal joint on the mast is articulated.
- the Boom By loosening a locking screw, the Boom movable in its longitudinal direction and also adjustable about its longitudinal axis in terms of inclination and rotational position.
- the disadvantage here is that when loosening the locking screw all movement options of the boom be released, which creates the risk of accidental Collapse or fold over and the risk of injury to the Operator.
- Such a free arm umbrella is difficult to handle and for larger free arm screens completely unsuitable.
- the object of the invention is a cantilever of the beginning mentioned type to improve further. According to the invention, the object is achieved by the free-arm screen of claim 1.
- This configuration enables, on the one hand, the altitude of the screen to adjust within certain limits to the ground clearance to change and for example to people certain size, and on the other hand the screen around to rotate the axis of the boom and thus the screen around to pivot the boom axis so that an improved Sun and / or wind protection is possible.
- the latter can still be improved by the fact that the screen around the Axis of the mast is rotatable.
- This free arm umbrella offers also a special security against unwanted folding, because the boom on the one hand due to the its free end attached screen and on the other hand not in the basic position due to the connecting element can retract or fold over if for any reason the locking device is not effective, that is not is activated.
- Claim 2 describes an advantageous embodiment of a Actuator for opening and closing the umbrella.
- Claim 6 describes a particularly simple solution, a particularly comfortable design, however, claim 7.
- the screen must be opened to open it according to the variants of the prior art mentioned at the beginning possible.
- a particularly simple solution describes the claim 8.
- This possibility includes in particular also, the extension or retraction of the boom independent of the opening of the screen, see above that both manipulations can take place one after the other and accordingly, the individual process also requires lower forces requires, or larger with smaller forces can be moved.
- this allows the degree of extension of the boom independent opening of the screen that Extending the boom and / or opening the canopy each independently and gradually shape.
- the guidance and redirection of the tension member can over Slideways are used, but more advantageously via deflection rollers according to claim 9, which facilitate the operation.
- the pulley-like configuration of the arrangement of the traction element on the slide according to claim 10 improves the actuation and the stability in the joint area in particular large umbrellas in addition.
- the stability of the open Umbrella can be formed by training according to claim 11 improve.
- Claim 13 describes an additional way to Adjust the height of the screen in another area.
- the connecting link gives the connecting struts and thus the whole Umbrella construction a relatively dimensionally stable training an improved transverse rigidity of the connecting struts and thus an improved stability of the entire free arm screen guaranteed in the open state, in particular also increased resistance to wind loads given is.
- the link between the connecting struts can also serve as a stop to a complete one, especially when the boom is retracted To prevent the frame from collapsing. This will not just a risk of injury by squeezing Fingers or other parts of the body when folded Frame diminished, but in particular it will also Initiation of the boom extension process improved, since the extension does not extend from the dead center position of the retracted frame he follows.
- the locking device is a preferred flexible connecting element for example a chain or a Has rope, which in different lengths between the Connection struts and haste can be determined. You can do this for example clamping members for clamping a rope serve or simple hooks around a chain, for example different chain links.
- a liaison body can also be a swivel arm with different locking recesses serve that according to its different Locking recesses in different effective lengths with a corresponding locking bolt can be locked.
- the connected umbrella can in different inclination positions and thus height positions of the screen are held.
- Claim 19 describes a further advantageous solution for opening the screen and for locking the screen in the open state.
- the open Screen in a predetermined angular position with respect to the Axis of the boom can be locked, which in particular a Tilting of the screen, for example due to the influence of wind, is prevented.
- Claim 21 describes a particularly advantageous Design to ensure trouble-free opening of the screen and a reliable locking of the Screen in a predetermined angular position with respect to To ensure the axis of the boom.
- the screen selectable in one of several angular positions with respect to the Lockable axis of the boom. This enables, for example an adjustment of the angular position of the screen to the changing position of the sun during the day.
- the design according to claim 23 allows a simple and convenient Adjustment of the angular position of the open screen with respect the axis of the boom.
- Figures 1 to 5 show a first embodiment a free arm screen.
- This contains a haste 2, on the upper end connected via a hinge 4 to a bearing block 6 is in which a boom 8 longitudinally displaceable and tiltable is stored.

- the collapsible screen 10 has a screen stick 44 on which a crown 46 is attached to the roof poles 48 are articulated, which carry the roof skin 50.
- On the roof poles 48 support struts 52 are articulated, which in turn are articulated with a slide 54, the one Stock part 56, which in the open with the screen hollow-shaped umbrella stick 44 engages.
- the umbrella stick 44 can be pivoted and leveled via a joint 12 Boom 8 connected.
- a leveling device 60 with a leveling screw 62 and a stop 64 arranged on the boom serves the Relative position between the screen 10 and the boom 8 extend the extended boom as required.
- An actuating device is used to open and close the screen 66, which is a tension member 68, preferably a Has rope, the screen-side end 70 on the boom 8 a fixed point 72 is attached to either the umbrella stick or can preferably be arranged on the boom 8.
- the pulling element can be moved from the boom via a Deflection roller not shown to the umbrella stick 44th be led.
- the traction element 68 runs through in the manner of a block and tackle the hollow umbrella stick 44 to the slide 54, which is a Deflection roller 74 is returned to the boom 8.
- the traction element 68 runs over a deflection roller 76 and on through the hollow arm 8.
- the end of the traction element 68 is over, for example, from the boom a deflection roller 78, which at the end of the boom facing away from the screen 8 is stored, led out.
- the screen 10 is opened by the slide 54 is moved against the umbrella stick 44 until the stick part 56 in Umbrella stick 44 engages.
- a fixing device 80 for example one arranged on the connecting struts 16, 18 Clamping device, the tension member can be in its position fixed and thus the umbrella in the open state or one desired relative position to the boom can be kept.
- Figures 6 and 7 show a modified design of the Bearing part 26a at the end of the boom 8, whereby to twist the boom and fixing it a self-locking Worm gear 82 is present.
- the bearing part contains 26a in a holding part 84, a worm wheel 86, the Boom 8 is fixed.
