Definitions

  • the invention relates to a flat knitting machine with needle beds, needles lying in needle channels of the needle beds and at least one knitting lock which can be moved over the needle beds and which has lock parts for driving out and removing the needles for transferring stitches.
  • the stitch closes and the stitch slips over it and the needle head.
  • the stitch to be transferred is then in the hook of the accepting needle, so that the transfer process is completed.
  • the taking needle Since the taking needle is also driven out and its tongue is open, the taking needle would also form a stitch due to the connected nut and thus the thread present when it is pulled off, but this must be prevented.
  • the lock slide for the stitch-dividing process is equipped with an additional stitch-dividing lock part.
  • the stitch dividing lock part is arranged in the knitting lock with respect to the carriage running direction at a point before the thread is inserted into the needle and causes the taking needle to be withdrawn before the thread from the connected thread nut into the area of the taking needle is coming. This prevents the thread from being inserted into the receiving needle.
  • the lock parts have to be converted if the stitch division process is to be carried out.
  • the machine must be switched off, the knitting lock removed and the stitch dividing lock parts must be fastened by hand by the operator in the knitting lock.
  • the machine has to be stopped again, the lock has to be removed and the stitch division lock parts have to be removed again these result in restrictions in the knitting process during normal knitting.
  • the object of the invention is to create a flat knitting machine which does not have to be converted before and after stitch dividing operations.
  • the knitted lock has at least one switchable lock part for the stitch dividing. Due to the switchability of the stitch dividing lock part, it is possible at any time to put it into and out of function without the machine having to be switched off and conversion measures having to be carried out. This results in a significantly higher productivity of the flat knitting machine.
  • the stitch-dividing lock part can be switched on for pulling out a taking needle before the thread comes into the area of the taking needle.
  • the at least one switchable stitch-dividing lock part is therefore preferably arranged at a position with respect to the direction of slide movement that lies in front of the thread insertion area of the lock slide.
  • the stitch division lock part has a needle foot part and preferably additionally a sinker foot part. The latter enables the plate associated with the receiving needle to be pulled off simultaneously, so that it does not interfere with the further knitting process.
