Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a lock adapted to be embedded in the thickness of an opening, to be actuated on each side of said opening by an operating member and / or a key, and to not allow the withdrawal of the latch bolt from the outside only by means of the key, this lock comprising two spindles rotatably mounted with respect to the same axis and respectively secured to a corresponding operating member.
  • the present invention relates to a lock, a lever-lock, or the like, of the aforementioned type, for door, French window or the like.
  • locks of this type which in general are also locks and bolts adapted to control both a latch bolt, a deadbolt and at least one control rod.
  • Such a lock is described for example in FR-A-2 657 385 in the name of the Applicant.
  • This lock comprises a conventional follower secured to the internal operating member, and which performs all the functions of a conventional bolt lock. It further comprises a second follower secured to the external operating member, which is adapted to come into engagement with the operating square of the first follower by means of coupling means arranged in such a way that the follower secured to the he external actuator must turn a certain vacuum angle in one direction or the other before being able to drive the main follower. This no-load rotation prohibits the operation of the latch bolt from the external operating member.
  • This lock requires the use of a support plate which must be applied to the external face of the door. Furthermore, it is not reversible, that is to say, it is not possible to choose, when the lock is put in place on the door, and for an observer looking at the lock embedded in the thickness of the door, the side - right or left - which corresponds to the outside of the room accessible by this opening.
  • Other locks of the aforementioned type are also known, comprising two conventional locks. These locks have a thickness greater than that of conventional locks so that they cannot be embedded in the cut-out. usually in the thickness of a sash. This forces either to increase the thickness of the notch, which reduces the resistance of the opening, or to transfer functions outside the lock, for example in the cleanliness plates, whose mechanical elements cannot be accommodated. in the classic dimension of the lock.
  • the object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks of known systems and to propose a lock of the aforementioned type which is very easily and very simply reversible, and which makes it possible to house all the mechanisms of such a lock inside a classic thickness housing.
  • each follower cooperates with a corresponding flange rotatably mounted around the axis of said follower and adapted to return the movement of the barrel when the latter is actuated by the key, and includes means for driving said flange in rotation when said follower is rotated in said first direction of withdrawal of the latch turn, and that each flange has a finger which engages with the selection element or which remains out of engagement with said selection element depending on whether said element is in its position on the side of the corresponding follower or in its other position.
  • the two sockets are substantially symmetrical with respect to each other with respect to the median plane of the lock perpendicular to the common axis of rotation of the sockets
  • the two flanges are also substantially symmetrical with respect to to said median plane
  • each follower has on its lateral face, on the side of the adjacent lateral face of the lock housing, a cylindrical projection having the axis of the follower axis, this cylindrical projection passing through a circular lumen of the corresponding flange, and preferably also passing through a circular lumen from the adjacent side face of the lock housing.
  • each follower comprises on its cylindrical projection a latching finger extending radially outwards from this projection, and each flange comprises at the periphery of its circular light a complementary curvilinear light adapted to receiving said catching finger and allowing rotation of the flange in the first direction under the action of the finger of the corresponding follower without interfering with the control of the flange from the key.

  • the light 87 extends in the longitudinal direction of the rod 47, that is to say the vertical direction in the figures, and has a length which corresponds to the idle stroke necessary to allow the return of the follower 6.7 in its rest position after an actuation operation of the rod 47 without causing displacement of the latter, this return being effected by the action of the springs 63 pushing the racks 67 which mesh with the pinions 66 of the pins 6,7.
  • FIGS. 16 to 18 and 18A to 18C show various embodiments of the opposite ends of the two squares or rather semi-squares 16 which must be made integral with one another in the longitudinal direction of the axis 8, while remaining free to rotate relative to each other.
  • the end of the right-hand half-square 16a is configured as a male element 89 adapted to be introduced and to be embedded in the other end 16b which is configured as a female element 90 of conjugate shape that of the male element 89.
  • the male 89 and female 90 configurations are of revolution around the common axis 8.
  • each half-square end 16b has a female configuration 90, and an assembly element 91 comprising at each axial end a male configuration 89 is interposed axially between the two ends 16b.
  • the right-hand half-square 16c represented in FIG. 18C, comprises, from the left, a first cylindrical recess 92, of short axial length, followed by a second cylindrical recess 93, the internal cylindrical wall of which is tapped.
  • the half-square 16d on the left, shown in FIG. 18B, has at its right end a crown 94 adapted to penetrate inside the first cylindrical recess 92, and is pierced over its entire length with an axial bore 95.
  • a screw 96 has a cylindrical body 97 adapted to penetrate inside the bore 95, which is extended by a threaded end 98 adapted to be screwed into the thread of the cylindrical recess 93.
  • the screw 96 has a head 99 of square section identical to the section of the operating squares 16.
  • the square head 99 is adapted to be inserted, at the same time as the left end of the left half-square 16d, inside the recess of complementary square section of an operating member 3, so that the screw 96 does not cannot rotate with respect to said square 16d on the left. Furthermore, the threaded cylindrical recess 93 and the threaded end 98 allow free rotation of one of the half-squares 16c, 16d relative to the other 16d, 16c, in one direction or the other, by the angle corresponding to the normal rotation of an operating member.
  • the lock according to the present invention can be equipped with a device allowing the user of said lock to exit without his key by prohibiting the closing and locking of the door by the latch bolt, which would condemn him to stay at outside.
  • the lock comprises means for manually blocking the latch bolt 5 relative to the headrest 11b in a retracted position of said bolt 5 inside the housing 11 of the lock.
  • the U-bolt 5 thus blocked cannot return to its extended position to lock the opening and prevent the opening of said opening from the outside without using the key.
  • the latch bolt 5 present on its bevel 104, in the vicinity of the edge 103 thereof, a cavity 105 extending over a median part of the height of said bevel 104 (see FIGS. 19, 20, 21 and 22).
  • This cavity 105 receives a slide 106 extending over only part of the height of said cavity 105 and movable inside said cavity 105 in the direction of the height thereof (see FIGS. 19A and 19B, 22A and 22B, the vertical direction when the lock is mounted on an opening leaf.
  • the slider 106 has a cross section such that it completely fills the cavity 105 by reconstituting with its bevel 110 the bevel 104 of the latch bolt 5 (see in particular Figures 23A and 23B).
  • the cavity 105 communicates with a second cavity 107 extending from the cavity 105 in the direction of the height of the bevel 104 and formed in the mass of the bolt 5 up to the outer surface 109 of the latter.
  • the slide 106 carries a finger 108 adapted to slide in said second cavity 107 when the slide 106 slides in the first cavity 105.
  • the length of the finger 108 is such that the finger 108 is flush with the corresponding surface 109 of the U-bolt 5 when the slider 106 is in its position remote from the second cavity 107 (FIGS. 19A and 22A), and protrudes relative to said surface 109 when the slider 106 is in its close position of the second cavity 107, so as to abut on the inner surface 102 of the headrest 11b, as shown in Figures 2 and 23B.
  • the surface 110 forming the bevel of the slide 106 is roughened in any known manner, for example by means of ridges.
  • a user just has to push the latch bolt towards the interior of the housing, and to urge the rough surface 110 of the slide 106 upwards to make slide the latter upwards and bring out the finger 108 relative to the corresponding surface 109 of the bolt 5 so that it comes to abut on the internal surface 102 of the headrest 11b.
  • the lights conventionally have a predetermined respective angular or rectilinear dimension so as to allow a stroke at least equal to the movement of the locking members (deadbolt, U-bolt, rods) for the two operations locking and unlocking, a corresponding stroke of the operating members, and independent operation of each of each operating member and the key.
  • the present lock, or lever-lock which is adapted to be embedded in the thickness of an opening, can also be mounted in any other way on said opening.
