Definitions
- the invention relates to a pan for holding hot, liquid cast material, in particular steel, with a pan wall made of metal, which is provided on the inside with an inner lining and has a pan rim delimiting a pouring opening.
- Pans of this type are well known from practice in iron and steel works and in steelmaking. For example, they are used to pick up liquid steel after tapping a blast furnace or from a converter and to transport it to the next processing step. These are pot-like vessels with a steel jacket that is lined on the inside with an inner lining that extends just below the edge of the pan. The upper edge of the pan is formed from essentially horizontally arranged steel segment plates which delimit the upper end face of the inner lining.
- the invention further relates to an improved curb for a metallurgical ladle.
- the invention is based on the technical problem of creating a pan with the longest possible service life, the pan edge in particular being long-term resistant and the pan being as simple to repair as possible.
- the pan edge stone forms a protective cover over the sensitive edge of the pan, so that the hot cast material does not directly attack the pan edge when pouring.
- the pan edge stone forms a thermal protection over the pan edge.
- the pan edge is better protected against softening.
- the rim of the pan is physically separated from the casting material when pouring. Surprisingly, this overlapping pan edge can be easily adapted to the shape of the pan edge.
- the pan edge stone can consist of heat-resistant, fire-resistant material, which is preferably supported on the stable pan edge or the pan wall.
- the pans according to the invention have considerably longer lifetimes and are less in need of repair. If the curb is damaged or worn after several pan trips, it can easily be repaired or replaced.
- the pan edge stone can preferably completely cover the end face of the pan edge. This protects the edge of the pan at the end region, which is poured over by the casting material primarily when pouring. Residues, e.g. Drops that normally remain in this area are in contact with the less sensitive curb so that the edge of the pan is not contaminated or attacked.
- the pan edge stone can particularly advantageously have an inner leg which extends along the inside of the pan wall.
- the inner leg creates a support for the pan curb on the inside of the pan wall and causes additional protection of the pan rim from the inside of the pan wall.
- the cross-sectional thickness of the inner leg can advantageously correspond approximately to the cross-sectional thickness of a permanent lining layer of the inner lining.
- the inner leg can thus be placed approximately flush with the permanent lining layer of the inner lining on the pan wall, so that there is a straight transition between the permanent lining and the pan edge stone.
- the permanent lining layer forms a common contact surface with the inner leg, to which, for example, a working lining that can be worn can be applied.
- the inner leg can adjoin the permanent lining on the front side in a special way. This creates a continuous, smooth transition between the permanent lining and inner thigh and an overall smooth inner surface for a working feed.
- the curb be covered on the inside at least in some areas by a working chuck.
- the working chuck is usually designed as wearable inner protection of the pan, which is relatively easy to renew and additionally protects the curb and the rim of the pan thermally and physically.
- the pan edge stone can have an outer leg which at least partially overlaps the outside of the pan wall. This also protects the edge of the pan from the outside. Drops that adhere to the pan rim stick to it or drip off of it without touching or damaging the pan rim.
- the ladle edge in the region of the end face of the ladle edge can be a pouring and / or Have a drip edge.
- the pouring edge helps to create a clearly defined pouring jet.
- the drip edge creates a defined location for the drop formation, from which drops fall or flow back into the pan.
- the pouring and drip edge can either coincide or be spaced apart.
- pouring and drip edges can be arranged at a distance from one another in parallel, the pouring edge being provided on the inside and the dripping edge on the outside of the pan.
- the pouring edge serves for a defined pouring jet and the drip edge serves as a downstream limit up to which drops can flow and drip when the pouring jet weakens, or can flow back into the pan.
- an insulating filler can be arranged in a curb between the edge of the pan and the wall of the pan, at least in some areas.
- the insulating filler is used for additional insulation of the pan wall, especially in the area of the pan edge, so that less heat acts on the pan wall. Furthermore, tolerances between the pan edge and the pan wall or the pan edge can be compensated for via the filler.
- the insulating filler can be designed as an insulating mat that clamps in the curb between the curb and the wall of the pan.
- the insulating mat can be placed over the edge of the pan, for example, and the pan edge is then placed on top of it, the insulating mat being a thin, clampable material which ensures that the edge is well seated.
- the curb can be releasably attached to the pan wall.
- the pan edge is therefore interchangeable so that it can be easily removed in the event of excessive wear or damage and replaced with a new one.
- the easy interchangeability makes repairs easier and significantly reduces the downtime caused by this.
- the curb may be clamped to the wall of the pan. Fastening by clamping is often sufficient to securely fix the pan edge to the pan wall.
- the above-mentioned filling insulating mat can be used as the clamping means. It has proven particularly useful in the case of cross-sectionally U-shaped curbs that are simply plugged onto the pan wall. To remove the curb, simply grasp it with the appropriate pliers and pull it off, and a new curb can be put on.
- the curb can be fastened to the pan wall with screws.
- the screw connection is easily detachable. It is preferably screwed from the outside through the pan wall into the pan curb so that the screws do not come into contact with the cast material.
- the screws can be provided in the area of an essentially horizontal shoulder of the pan edge and extend approximately parallel to the pan wall.
- the screws thus extend in an area parallel to the inner lining of the pan and do not impair the protection of the pan wall by the inner lining.
- the pan edge stone is made of ceramic. Ceramic is particularly well suited as a heat-resistant, wear-resistant material.
- the pan edge stone can consist of dense refractory concrete with approximately 95% by weight of aluminum oxide. This material is suitable for casting material temperatures in the range of around 1650 o C.
- Fig. 1 the upper section of a pot-like pan 1 according to the invention for holding hot, liquid casting material is shown.
- the outer boundary it has a rotationally symmetrical pan wall 2 made of metal.
- the pan wall 2 is lined with an inner lining 3 made of refractory material, as is generally used for such inner linings in metallurgy.
- the pan wall ends on its upper side with a pan rim 4, which forms the basic shape of a pouring opening 5 of the pan 1.
- the pan edge 4 is overlapped by a pan edge stone 6.
- the pan edge brick 6 is made of refractory material, as is generally known for hut-specific requirements when using hot cast material. Depending on the requirements, the material can be selected so that temperatures up to 1650 o C are harmless for the pan edge 6. Ceramic is suitable for this, for example a dense refractory concrete with about 95% by weight Al 2 O 3 . For other temperatures or other casting material, other heat-resistant materials can also be used.
- the pan rim 6 completely covers an end face 7 of the pan rim.
- An inner leg 8 of the ladle curb 6 extends along the inside of the pan wall 2.
- the cross-sectional thickness D of the inner leg 8 corresponds approximately to the cross-sectional thickness of a permanent lining layer 9 of the inner lining 3.
- the permanent lining layer 9 consists of material which corresponds to hut-specific requirements.
- the inner leg 8 borders on the end face of the permanent lining 9, so that there is a smooth transition to the inside of the pan 1.
- the curb 6 On the inside of the pan 1, the curb 6 is covered with a wearable, renewable working chuck 10, which covers both the inner leg 8 and the permanent chuck 9 over the entire surface on the inside.
- the pan edge brick 6 On the outer side of the pan 1, the pan edge brick 6 has an outer leg 11 which overlaps the outside of the pan wall 2 in some areas.
- the pan edge brick 6 thus has a total of approximately a U-shape with U-legs of different lengths.
- the pan wall 2 with the pan edge 4 is arranged in the area between the U-legs 8, 11.
- the pan edge stone 6 In the area of the end face of the pan edge 7, the pan edge stone 6 has an outer drip edge 12.
- the insulating filler 14 consists of an insulating mat, which is thermally insulated and clamped between pan edge 6 and pan wall 2, so that the pan edge 6 is releasably clamped to the pan wall 2 via the insulating mat.
- the clamping force depends on the amount of insulating filler 14 in the curb 13 and can be chosen so that the curb for the Operation occurring forces is clamped, but can be pulled off the pan wall 2 with a tool.
- FIGS. 2 and 3 show a further embodiment of a pan curb according to the invention, reference being made to the explanations relating to FIG. 1 for the same reference numerals.
- the ladle curb 6 consists of a plurality of curb segments 15 which are arranged closely next to one another. Each segment 15 is releasably attached to the pan rim 4 by a screw 16.
- the pan edge has an approximately horizontal shoulder 17 which is arranged approximately at right angles to the pan wall and which represents a widened pan edge 4.
- the screw 16 extends approximately parallel to the edge of the pan into the region of the pan edge 6 which overlaps or covers the shoulder 17. It is screwed in from the bottom of the pan rim 4 via an extension.
- the curb 13 is formed between the inner leg of the pan edge 6 and the vertical region of the pan wall 2, which is separated by an insulating filler 14, e.g. the previously mentioned insulating mat is filled.
- the pan edge 4 has a pouring edge 6 directed towards the inside. Parallel to this, a drip edge 18 is arranged on the outside, on which the casting material drips when the casting jet becomes weaker, without damaging the pan rim 4 underneath.
- the segments 15 of the curb 6 can be arranged on the pan only in the pouring area, while the rest of the pan edge 4 remains free.
- the pan edge 6 can, for example, only be provided in the region of a pre-shaped pouring spout of the pan 1.
- FIGS. 4 and 5 show a further embodiment of a pan edge brick 6 according to the invention, with regard to same reference numerals can be referred to the above statements.
- the pan edge brick 6 is double-shoulder-shaped on the side facing the pan edge 4, the aforementioned screw 16 being provided in a horizontal shoulder 17 of the pan edge 4.
- pan edge 6 or its curb segments 15 are placed in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 over the pan edge 4 provided with an insulating mat 14 and clamped to it with the insulating mat 14.
- the pan edge 6 forms an effective thermal and physical protection of the pan edge 4 against the hot cast material. If the pan edge 6 is worn or damaged, it can be removed with a tool and replaced with a new one. This significantly reduces the service life of the pan according to the invention due to repairs compared to conventional pans.
- the pan edge stone is simply attached to the pan edge 4 by means of a screw fastening, so that it can be easily removed and replaced.
- An insulating mat 14 is also used on the inside of the pan wall 2, which compensates for the tolerances and additionally protects the pan wall against thermal influences.
- the pan according to the invention can have different sizes. It can be used as a large container holding several tons of steel as well as a small hand or forklift-operated casting container.
- the material of the pan edge 6 and the inner lining 3 depends on the temperatures of the casting material.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1
- Fig. 2
- Fig. 3
- Fig. 4
