Definitions
- EP-A-399 955 describes a drainage channel according to the preamble of claim 1 with closure elements for securing a grate on a frame. These channels have proven their worth.
- closure elements require the manufacture of grate and frame in very tight tolerances. These parts can therefore only be manufactured in a few specialized foundries or have to be reworked mechanically.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a drainage channel of the above type, which places lower tolerance requirements on the grate and frame. This object is achieved by the combination of features of the claims.
- the frame 1 which is preferably made of cast iron, has two straight longitudinal webs 2 with flat side surfaces 3, which are connected by two transverse webs 4 so that the frame width a corresponds approximately to the width b of the channel 30.
- This arrangement has the advantage that composite blocks can be neatly and seamlessly attached to a channel run.
- the transverse webs 4 are provided with notches 6 where they meet with the longitudinal webs 2. These notches 6 form a predetermined breaking point. This design serves to ensure that, after the installation of such a channel system, the crossbars 4 can be removed in a simple manner, so that the entire channel line is open, ie the channel line has no cross-connections that interfere with cleaning.
- the longitudinal webs 2 are designed in cross section as a double angle, the upper vertical webs 7, 8 forming the outer boundary and the crown of the cover.
- the two downwardly directed legs 9, 10 are offset inwards so that they lie between the inside of the gutter 11 and act as a spacer when installing the gutter.
- the contact surfaces 12, 13 created by the double angle profiles are cast with the channel crown.
- the upper, horizontal surfaces form the grate supports 14, 15.
- On the grate supports 14, 15, mutually offset recesses 16 are provided in the longitudinal center around a web division of the grate 17. These are used for power transmission between the grate 17 and frame 1 in the longitudinal direction.
- the downward leg 9 is widened in two places along its length on the inside.
- a rectangular recess 19 is recessed within this widening 18.
- This recess 19 widens upwards as well as downwards, the part opening upwards being shorter than the part widening downwards.
- This design of the recesses 19 enables the snap-in elements 20, which Appropriate positions attached to the grate 17 and each equipped with two spring legs 21 to insert so that the two spring legs 21 are pressed together by pressing the grate 17 and the grate 17 comes to rest on the grate support 14 until it stops. In this assembled position, the two spring legs 21 are practically relaxed again and their outer surfaces 22 nestle against the recess 19. Due to the downward tapering of the recess 19 and the form-fitting spring legs 21 of the latching elements 20, a restraining force is created which is so great that the grate 17 is held back safely.
- the opposite longitudinal web 2 of the frame 1 has two retaining wings 24 on the upper, vertical longitudinal web 8, which lock the inserted grate 17 on the opposite side of the latching elements 20.
- the retaining wings 24 are designed such that they act in a similar manner to a joint when the grate 17 is inserted and closed in the frame 1, with correspondingly designed cutouts 25 on the grate 17. Due to the recesses 19 open towards the inside of the frame and the design of the retaining wings 24 and the corresponding recesses 25 on the grate 17, and because the spring legs 21 have some distance from the inner side surface of the recess 19, the inevitable casting tolerances in the transverse direction between the grate 17 and the frame 1 can be easily recorded without losing the functionality of the locking device.
- the spring legs 21 of the latching elements 20, which are fastened to the grate 17, are unprotected when the grate 17 is not installed downwards. Due to the staggered arrangement of the recesses 19 and the retaining wings 24 in the longitudinal direction of the frame, the grate 17 stands on the retaining wings 24 in the event of inadvertently incorrect mounting, so that the spring legs 21 do not stand up anywhere and are therefore not damaged.
- the recesses 16, 19 and the retaining wings 24 are constructed and arranged in such a way that the frame 1 can be cast without the use of cores. This enables the parts to be manufactured in an economical manner.
- the casting tolerances in the longitudinal direction can also be accommodated without restricting the functionality of the closure, in that the retaining cams 26 for fastening the latching elements 20 to the grate 17 are longer than the width c of the latching elements 20 and that the width d of the cutouts 25 is also greater than the width e of the retaining wings 24.
- the two middle webs 27 of the grate 17 are designed on their underside and extended outwards so that this extension 28 engages in the recess 16 from the grate support 14, 15 such that the longitudinal forces can be transmitted from the grate 17 to the frame 1.
- the power transmission from the frame 1 to the channel 30, which is made of polyester concrete, for example, is solved with the known "mono-cast connection", or at most by an external toothing of the frame 1, which engages directly in the concrete foundation that supports the channel.
- a crescent-shaped depression 29 is provided in the middle of the two central webs 27.
- This recess 29 makes it possible, with a known locking device, to connect the cast fitting 31 as a whole to the channel 30 by means of only one screw.
- the actual closure is formed by the snap-in elements 20, which are preassembled on the grate 17 and thus hold it on the frame 1 with the two spring legs 21 of the snap-in elements 20.
- the pre-assembly of the snap-in elements 20 is carried out in a simple manner.
- the opening 32 of the latching elements 20, which widens outwards and has an upper and lower retaining cams 33, 34 at the end, is pressed over the retaining cams 26 formed on the grate 17.
- the opening 32 is expanded by the two retaining cams 33, 34 until they snap into the retaining grooves 35, 36.
- the latching elements 20 are thus connected to the grate 17 in an approximately form-fitting manner.
- the latching elements 20 cannot be removed from the grate 17. They are held back by the upper, vertical longitudinal web 7.
- the snap-in elements 20 cannot be removed or pulled off by external influences in the assembled state.
- FIG. 8 shows a cross section through another variant of the frame 1 ', in which the longitudinal webs 2 of the frame 1' are designed as T-profiles 38, lateral supports 39 being pulled down on the outside of the channel wall 37.
- These side supports 39 can have teeth, for example, in order to anchor the frame 1 'in the concrete foundation.
- connection of the crossbars 4 to the longitudinal webs 2 of the frame 1 can also be used with other drainage channels, e.g. those according to EP-A-399 955 or channels in which the grate is not secured against jumping out can be used.
- the latching elements 20 can also be made of metal, e.g. made of stainless spring steel sheet. This embodiment is shown in perspective in FIG. 9.
Abstract
Description

The
The
The opposite
The
The
The casting tolerances in the longitudinal direction can also be accommodated without restricting the functionality of the closure, in that the
The two
In applications in which for certain reasons the connection between
The pre-assembly of the snap-in
These side supports 39 can have teeth, for example, in order to anchor the frame 1 'in the concrete foundation.
The described connection of the crossbars 4 to the
As an alternative to the embodiment described, the latching
