Definitions
- the invention relates to an ignition and flame monitoring device according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the flame sensor switches off a transformer that feeds the ignition electrodes when the pilot flame is generated, while the pilot flame continues to burn and from a thermocouple is monitored.
- the flame of the pilot burner is therefore constantly monitored and the system is shut down when it goes out. This means that the pilot flame is constantly on.
- pilot and flame monitoring devices are known, in which the main burner flame is ignited with the help of a fur igniter, so that the pilot burner and the gas consumption caused by it are eliminated.
- main burners which are operated with a lean gas / air mixture in order to produce as little pollutants as possible, in particular NOX, can be ignited with difficulty by a spark igniter.
- the invention provides a remedy here in that the flame of the main burner is monitored in the normal burner cycle and an ignition burner is used for ignition, which ignites with the aid of a spark igniter and is switched off again together with the ignition device after the main burner flame has stabilized.
- the main burner MB of a burner system is supplied with gas via a first main burner valve MV1 and a second valve MV2.
- a line branches off between the two valves MV1 and MV2 to the pilot burner valve PV, which feeds the pilot burner PB.
- This is assigned an ignition electrode ZE, which is supplied with ignition pulses by an ignition generator IG.
- a flame sensor electrode FE immersed in the flame area F of the main burner MB is connected to the input of a flame sensor amplifier FV, which on the one hand supplies an output signal on line L1 to stop a timer ZG and on the other hand controls the normally closed contact switch RK via line L2.
- the timer ZG serving as a safety timer carries over its output signal the line L3 to the safety switch SI, the contact si of which is in the power supply line between an AC voltage source V, for example the mains AC voltage, and a heat demand switch WB.
- the three gas valves MV1, MV2 and PV are solenoid valves and each equipped with an excitation winding E1, E2 and E3.
- the safety switch SI opens its contact si as soon as a blocking signal is supplied to it by the timer ZG via the line L3. The contact si can only be closed again by hand.
- contact WB for example the contact of a room thermostat
- the AC mains voltage reaches the two excitation windings E1 and E2 of the valves MV1 and MV2 in the gas line to the main burner MB, on the one hand, via the normally closed contact switch RK to the excitation winding E3 of the pilot burner valve PV and finally via the safety contact si and the heat demand switch WB via line L4 to the supply input of the timer ZG.
- a line L6 branches off to the ignition generator IG, which supplies the ignition electrode ZE with ignition pulses.
- gas is routed to the main burner MB via the valves MV1 and MV2 and to the pilot burner PB via the pilot gas valve PV Gas. Since the ignition generator IG is switched on at the same time, the ignition electrode ZE receives ignition pulses and ignites the flame of the pilot burner PB. This in turn ignites the gas flowing out of the main burner MB, so that the main burner flame F is produced during normal operation and is detected by the flame sensor electrode FE.
- the timer ZG is started simultaneously via line L4. For example, it has a delay time of 5 seconds, which, as is known, depends on the size of the burner system, in particular on the gas throughput to the main burner. If a flame F is properly detected by the sensor electrode FE, a switching signal is produced at the output of the flame amplifier FV, which on the one hand stops the timer ZG via line L1, so that it does not emit a blocking signal on line L3, and on the other hand via line L2 Normally closed contact switch RK switched from its normally closed contact rk to the mating contact gk. As a result, the pilot burner valve PV and the ignition generator IG become currentless. No gas then flows to the pilot burner PB, and ignition sparks are still generated.
- the main burner valve MV1 can be a servo-controlled control valve which regulates the gas throughput to the main burner MB as a function of the amount of heat required.
- the second valve MV2 is a conventional closing valve. Both valves MV1 and MV2 and possibly also the pilot burner valve PV can be accommodated in a common housing in a known manner.
- the flame amplifier FV does not generate an output signal, so that after its delay time has elapsed, the timer ZG triggers the safety switch SI via line L3 and its contact si switches off the entire system. Since the power supply to all three valves is interrupted, these valves go into the closed position so that gas does not flow to the pilot burner or the main burner.
- the main burner MB can be operated with a lean gas / air mixture which produces low pollutants but is difficult to ignite. It is therefore not ignited directly by electrical ignition sparks, but by the flame of the pilot burner PB, which in turn is operated with a rich gas / air mixture and can therefore be ignited easily. Since the pilot burner is switched off during normal operation, it does not generate any pollutants during normal operation.

Abstract
