Definitions

  • the invention relates to an eye shower for use in laboratories, workshops, training facilities and rooms where there is a risk that due to carelessness accidents with caustic solutions, like acids and alkalis or with gases around the eyes contaminated by people.
  • Eye showers for use in chemical Laboratories and other facilities where eye contamination cannot be ruled out are already known.
  • One of the prior art Eye wash is for example in the form of a Kind of horn shower, that is, the spout consists of two extending upwards from the inlet curved pipe ends, their distance about the eye relief of an average person corresponds.
  • Such eye showers can either stationary over a pool or on Be installed at the end of a flexible hose. The actuation the valve is made by a hand-operated one Actuator next to the shower. It is also known, one provided with an outlet nozzle shower arm with stationary button actuation at the drain basin to use as an eye shower.
  • an eye shower consisting of one a base plate mountable valve body, in that flows into a water inlet with an auxiliary valve Back pressure chamber, a main valve controllable by this, one that can be plugged into the valve body shower arm with shower head and a flexible hose for the removal of the shower arm from the valve body, the main valve between the water inlet and the flexible hose is arranged in the manner is that the faucet housing held shower arm can be locked in two insertion positions, namely an undepressed closed position, in the from shower arm a prestressed actuator the valve holds in the closed position via the auxiliary valve and a depressed position, in the same way as in a Removal of the shower arm from the valve body the actuator for a movement to open the Main valve is released via the auxiliary valve, the shower can be used both as a stationary shower and as also use as a removable hand shower, whereby due to the special locking of the shower arm in the fitting housing a special actuation like the release the shower process with a handle or Touch button, can be omitted.
  • the shower arm is inserted into the housing and / or the removal of the same from the housing automatically triggers the required water flow, so that the contaminated in the eye area Person only by blindly accessing the shower head its operation enables.
  • Triggering the flow of water is done either by removing the shower arms from its holder or by one-off Pressure on the shower head when plugged in of the valve body, in both cases the actuator acting on the auxiliary valve such as a sliding pin or Plunger is released so that over the actuation of the auxiliary valve a main valve opens and the water flow releases to the shower head.
  • Axial displacement for closing and opening positions also two grid locks for two different ones Swivel positions of the shower arm or accordingly two different rotary positions. The only important thing is that the injured person blindly grabbing the shower head either through it simply pulling it out of its holder or through activates the shower head once, i.e. triggers the water flow.
  • the servo control of the main valve via one Auxiliary valve provides a particularly safe mode of operation again, taking control of the main valve via the auxiliary valve by means of a back pressure chamber, which are filled via a pressure compensation hole or can be emptied via an emptying hole, according to the known membrane principle in an advantageous manner Design can work.
  • the shower head can be equipped with one or more jet regulators be equipped, it being advantageous Arrange at least two aerators so that they the simultaneous rinsing of both eyes with associated Allow facial areas.
  • the base plate 5 can on the laboratory wall above a drain Wash basin or attached to such a basin be and it in turn forms the attachment for the valve body 1.
  • the as a connecting piece in the Faucet housing 1 merging water inlet 29 is in direct connection to the drinking water pipe.
  • the Inlet 29 is equipped with a strainer 4.
  • the valve body 1 here consists of a the base plate 5 screwed valve housing part and the housing part 3, which has an adapter plate 2 records. Between the valve body part of the valve body 1 and the adapter plate 2 is a main valve 6 clamped, which via an auxiliary valve 9 can be operated in a manner as shown in Fig. 3 more clearly recognizable in detail.
  • Diaphragm principle of known solenoid valves application for what the main valve 6 the valve chamber 22 from one Back pressure chamber 23 separates and in the closed state the water-carrying chamber inside the valve housing part seals.
  • a plunger or plunger 7 is axially displaceable and centrically within a hole through the adapter plate 2 added and axially displaceable in this stored.
  • the plunger 7 is provided with an annular groove, from which an O-ring 8 is received, so that Water from the valve area even with axial displacement the plunger inside the adapter plate 2 cannot exit here.
  • the opposite of the valve The end of the plunger 7 abuts the outer Circumferential surface of a plugged into the valve body 1 shower arms 12.
  • the other end of the plunger 7 carries the auxiliary valve seal 9, which in the pressed State of the plunger 7 according to the in the first latching position or rest position inserted into the valve body shower arms sits on the auxiliary valve seat 24 and thus closes it.
  • the auxiliary valve seal 9 is positively connected to the plunger 7.
  • the guide in the front area of the valve body 1 facing end of the adapter plate 2 carries in Distance two clamps 10 using the screws 11 are attached to the adapter plate 2.
  • This Clamps 10 are thus in the axial displacement Direction of arrow X when inserting or removing of the shower arm 12 from the housing part 3 that they are non-positively on the peripheral surface of the shower arm 12 in the range of a predetermined axial displacement issue.
  • 1 shows the first insertion position, So the eye shower in the rest position or closed state. It is shown that something above the upper clamp 10, the outer diameter of the shower arm 12 in the area of the conical Enlarged diameter 27, so that the shower arm 12 only if additional, but sufficient Push little force further into the housing 3 leaves.
  • This additional axial shift is limited by the stop 28 and this, thus the axially in the downward direction shifted position of the shower arm 12 defines a Shower position in which the water inlet is open, as will be explained in more detail below.
  • the shower arm 12 is thus exclusively in the housing 3 through the two encompassing its scope Clamps 10 held and thus its insertion state also clearly defined.
  • On shower arm 12 is on upper free end of the shower head 14 by means of a O-ring 30 screwed in watertight.
  • the screw 16 holds the shower base 15 on the shower head housing 14, the connection being established via an insert 17 is.
  • the outer peripheral surface of the shower head is against mechanical damage by means of an O-ring 18 protected.
  • In the shower base 15 are one or several jet regulators 19 are provided in the flow regulators 20 integrated and fastened by means of threaded rings 21 are.
  • Via a spiral molded hose or flexible hose 13 is the shower arm 12 with the outlet of the Main valve in the valve body 1 connected.
  • the flexible hose 13 is in the form shown around the housing part 3 of the valve can be wound up and so when the shower arm 12 is removed from its holder light and tangle-free inside the valve body pull it off.
  • the valve is in the rest or closed position Fig. 1 shown.
  • the shower arm is 12 so far into its holder inside the valve body inserted that the upper clamp 10 still below the conical diameter extension 27 lies.
  • a beveled annular groove 31 in the scope of shower arm 12 is between the two Clamps 10 and above the effective area of the plunger 7.
  • the frictional connection of the upper clamp 10 in the circumferential area below the conical diameter extension 27 ensures that the shower arm 12 not unintentionally or due to its own weight in the valve body can slide in.
  • Fig. 1 further shows in connection with Fig. 3, that in the rest position or closed position shown the plunger 7, the auxiliary valve 9 on the Auxiliary valve seat 24 presses so that against the open position 3 the main valve 6 is closed remains.
  • the area of the Main valve 6, however, is considerably larger than that below the main valve, the main valve pressed on the valve seat so that the watercourse interrupted from the inflow 29 to the flexible hose 13 is.
  • the watercourse is opened from the inlet nozzle into the Faucet to the shower head whenever the plunger 7 from the position shown in Fig. 1 in the axial Direction can move to the right, that is 3, the auxiliary valve 9 takes off from valve seat 24.
  • the one in the back pressure chamber 23 Water pressure present corresponding to the line pressure presses with free movement of the Plungers this outward, taking this shift limited by a stop of the auxiliary valve seal is.
  • the water pressure in the back pressure chamber builds thus accordingly.
  • one or more are in the shower head 14, according to Fig. 2 four jet regulators 19 are provided and on the shower base 15 arranged.
  • Flow controller 20 integrated, so that per unit time Volume flow given via the shower head independently constant from the flow pressure in the water pipe remains and thus also the beam height and the spray pattern in its homogeneous distribution.
  • the water flow is stopped by pushing in or Snap the shower arm 12 into the clamps 10 after Pulling the shower arm into that shown in Fig. 1 Position or with a previously removed shower arm by inserting it in this position. Now the shower arm 12 presses the plunger 7 and thus the Auxiliary valve seal 9 in the direction of the auxiliary valve seat 24 too, so that the auxiliary valve is closed becomes. The drain hole 26 is then closed again.
  • the back pressure chamber 23 is on the Connection bore 25 filled as a pressure compensation bore, to equal pressure in the back pressure chamber 23 and the valve chamber 22 is reached.
  • the main valve 6 lowers on the valve seat due to the larger Effective force above the main valve 6 and the biasing force, with which the clamps 10 the shower arm 12 pull into the holder.
  • the water flow is interrupted.
