Definitions
- the invention relates to a connection element for an electrical and mechanical connection with rotatable current-conducting connections to a protective hose system for electrical Lines in aircraft construction. With it, the rotational mobility of one on the connecting element fixed electrically conductive hose without interruption of current flow between the rotating Body parts of the connecting element guaranteed.
- connection elements In aircraft, the connections of electrically conductive hoses to known connection elements very difficult to carry out. They connect a variety of connection elements confined space and can be integrated without rotating power line connections often do not realize such connection element.
- a known connection element according to DE 39 14 936 consists of a straight connector Version to which a protective hose end is connected in a rotationally non-positive manner.
- This solution realizes the mobility - but no electrically conductive connection - between the conductive corrugated hose and the connector. It does not allow the continued existence of the rotatable electrically conductive connection between the rotatably mounted sub-components, which is why the path between the conductive connected to the connector flexible protective hose and the current-carrying connection element of the connector is interrupted.
- the line path is also interrupted when the connection is functional the mechanical component of the protective hose system to the connecting element of the Connector.
- the invention has for its object to provide a generic connector for Protection of electrical systems in aircraft against electromagnetic interference, in particular Surges and lightning strikes, such that the current-carrying connection between an electrically conductive protective tube connected to it and not is also improved, being the preset coding of the electrical connector of the connected with the connector.
- the contact elements must not be twisted - neither during production, in operation, nor due to a specific installation position in the aircraft - enter opposite the protective hose.
- the advantages achieved by the invention can be seen essentially in the fact that the current-carrying Connection between an electrically conductive protective hose and the rotating mutually fixed body parts of the connecting element during manufacture, in operation and is not canceled by a certain installation position of the connecting element to the preset To enable coding of the electrical connector of a connector.
- the slotted one The area of the rotatably mounted body part forms thick electrical contact springs with a larger cross section, which is suitable for discharging high lightning currents (up to a Current of approximately 200 KA) are dimensioned.
- the contact springs support the improved Contact transition between the two parts of the body rotatably mounted to each other. The surface contact of the contact springs takes place on the wall of the fixed body part with great preload on a large contact surface.
- connection element takes place as a connecting element due to the advantages mentioned and the Avoidance of line interruptions to a connected electrically conductive Protective hose its functional use.
- connection element 18 is shown. It consists in its basic structure of an open cylindrical hollow body 1 and a hollow cylindrical support body 2, which are arranged coaxially and rotatably mounted to each other.
- the support body 2 has a stepped shape. Its enlarged part with the larger jacket diameter is to be understood as an axially elongated partial component 2.1 (of the support body 2).
- a union nut 16 is rotatably supported on this subcomponent 2.1 and is captively connected to the support body 2 in this area by means of a separate snap ring 4.1.
- the separate snap ring 4.1 lies vertically in an embedded groove, which results from two congruent grooves that are machined into the axially closed wall of the two bodies.
- the union nut 16 has an internal thread with which, for example, the housing of an electrical connector 17 is screwed. If the connector 17 with the union nut 16 is in the screwed state, the support body 2 is fixed, for example, with the current-conducting connector 17 by toothing. Electrically insulated lines (not shown) are connected to the plug 17, which are led through the cavity cross section of the support body 2 and which occupy the insulated contact elements (not shown) of the plug 17.
- the plug 17, which is designed as a socket or pin plug, is part of the (not shown) connector with another (not shown) other plug to which further electrically insulated lines are connected.
- the cylindrical hollow body 1 On the tapered part of the hollow cylindrical support body 2 with the smaller jacket diameter, the cylindrical hollow body 1, which is designed, for example, as a bushing, is rotatably and coaxially supported. These two bodies 1, 2 are also captively fixed to one another by means of a snap ring 4.
- the snap ring 4 is also - as described above - vertically in a recessed groove which results from two congruent grooves in the axially closed areas of the two body walls. It is mentioned that the hollow cylindrical body 1, the support body 2, the holding elements 4, 4.1 and the union nut 16, the housing of the electrical connector 17 are made of metal, since they are connected in terms of the electrical current to the measure for protecting electrical systems in aircraft against electromagnetic interference, in particular overvoltages and lightning effects.
- the cylindrical hollow body 1 consists of two firmly connected zones, which are formed in one piece, an axially closed zone 1.1 and an axially slotted zone 1.2. These zones 1.1, 1.2 are both coaxially and rotatably supported on the wall of the support body 2.
- the closed region of the wall of the cylindrical hollow body 1 is defined as an axially closed zone 1.1, because this closed part of the wall is solid as a hollow cylinder.
- the slotted area of the wall of the cylindrical hollow body 1 is defined as axially slotted zone 1.2, because this part of the wall achieves circumferentially flexible elements through its axial slitting, which are designed as electrical contact springs.
- contact springs which press with mechanical pressure on the outer surface of the support body 2, are supported by the latter and form an electrically conductive connection with it, provided that a radial mechanical pressure is applied to them.
- These are a plurality of contact springs which, with a distributed radial pressure load, press zonally against the outer surface of the support body 2.
- the contact springs obtained are dimensioned such that they are designed in accordance with the aforementioned lightning current strength, wherein they derive the lightning current without interference and damage and even exert this pressure load on the support body 2.
- a projection element 5 which consists of a flange attached to this zone with one at the flange edge horizontally applied and facing away from the gradation of the support body 2 protective edge 15 put together.
- the connecting element 18 can be designed, for example, so that the tapered part of the support body 2 with an overlying rotatable cylindrical hollow body 1 an end housing with straight and angled version or a branch (various types), preferably for T -, cross or angled branch, or a bushing or an end piece or a coupling piece is molded.
- the lightning current is transmitted from the electrically conductive braided hose (metal braid) - via the cylindrical hollow body 1, which is designed as a metal bushing - to the support body 2 - and then - via the tooth holder (support body 2 - electrical connector 17) or via the separate snap ring 4.1 on the union nut 16 by means of thread on the connector 17 further derived or vice versa.
- said electrically conductive braided hose 13 or else the protective hose system (not shown) (for example according to FIG. 3c) with a tensioning strap 11 by means of a tension lock or (for example according to FIGS.
- the contact springs of the axially slotted zone 1.2 have a larger cross section, which are dimensioned for the discharge of high lightning currents (up to a current of approximately 200 KA).
- the surface contact of the contact springs on the outer or inner surface of the support body 2 takes place with great force (pretensioning force is dimensioned accordingly) on a large contact surface.
- the exemplary connecting element 18 applies that it - also due to the low contact resistance at the multiple, radially distributed contact junctions the contact springs on the outer or inner surface of the support body 2 - to derive the lightning current and thus as a current (dissipative) connecting element for Inclusion in the lightning protection equipotential bonding of an aircraft is suitable.
- FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of the connecting element 18 according to FIG described type.
- a plastic sleeve 7 which according to the graded example Area of the support body 2 is lined and fixed to the latter.
- This plastic sleeve 7 should be the (not shown in Fig.2) insulated electrical lines that are within the cavity cross-section the plastic sleeve 7 lie along the central axis 6 of the connecting element 18, protect against abrasion.
- connection element 18 shows a further embodiment as a modified version of the connection element 18 according to Fig.2, after which the cylindrical hollow body designed as a metal bushing 1 below the jacket inner surface of the tapered part of the support body 2 coaxially and rotatably mounted.
- the enlarged part of the support body 2 is not shown in figures.
- the The snap ring 4 described above rotatably fixes both bodies in their closed area and captive to each other.
- the contact springs axially facing the gradation of the support body 2 the axially slotted zone 1.2 of the cylindrical hollow body 1 press in the above Way radially against the inner surface of the support body 2.
- the solution according to FIG. 3 differs from the solution according to FIG. 2 by replacing the plastic sleeve 7 with a plastic coating 10 coated the inner surface of the support body 2 with the plastic coating 10, for example adheres firmly to the inner wall.
- the plastic coating 10 protects the aforementioned Insulated electrical lines (not shown in FIG. 2) are equally effective against abrasion.
- the solution according to FIG. 3a additionally shows the cylindrical design in accordance with FIGS. 1 and 3 Hollow body 1 with a reinforcement spring 8, which is also above the contact springs the axially slotted zone 1.2. It is a blown up spring Reinforcement spring 8 with a circular cross section, which lies radially on the slotted zone 1.2, which increases the radial surface pressure of the contact springs. This will make the Contact resistance component between the cylindrical hollow body 1 and the support body 2 - due to the additional pressure of the reinforcing spring 8 on the contact springs axially slotted zone 1.2 - is reduced at the transition point.
- FIG. 3b shows the embodiment of FIG. 2 with additional fixation of an electrically conductive braid-like protective tube 13 on the closed portion of the cylindrical hollow body 1 represented by a crimp sleeve 12, which on the cylindrical hollow body 1 attached projection element 5 does not have a separate protective edge 15.
- the metal executed braided protective tube 13 is, for example, up to the rear flange face of the Projection element 5 out.
- a crimp sleeve 12 fixes the metal protective tube 13 on the cylindrical hollow body 1 within its closed area.
- Under the inner surface of the jacket of the support body 2 are (not shown in Fig.3b) isolated electrical Lines that are additionally surrounded by a braided plastic hose 7.1.
- FIG. 3c shows a further embodiment as a modification of the solution according to FIG. 3b, according to which The electrically conductive protective tube 13 is fixed by means of a tensioning strap 11.
- this embodiment has a projection element 5 with an end face on its flange edge axially fixed protective edge 15.
- the isolated electrical (not shown in Fig.3c) Lines are also surrounded by a braided plastic hose 7.1, the is below the inner surface of the support body 2.
- Fig.3d shows a modified version of the solution according to Fig.3b with a partially cylindrical Hollow body 1 additionally enveloping braided plastic hose 7.1.
- the plastic hose 7.1 is, for example, up to the aforementioned Gradation of the cylindrical hollow body 1 performed so that it partially tapered Part of the area of the axially closed zone 1.1 envelops.
- the axially closed zone 1.1 has a gradation with two different outer diameters, the closed one Area 1.1b with the larger outside diameter and the closed area 1.1a with the smaller outer diameters are made in one piece.
- the projection element 5 is on the closed area 1.1b flange-like.
- the braided plastic hose 7.1 lies in the closed area 1.1a and is covered by the electrically conductive braid-like protective tube 13. Both braided tubes 13, 7.1 are closed by the crimp sleeve 12 Area 1.1 of the cylindrical hollow body 1 fixed.
- the plastic hose 7.1 which with the area of the slotted zone 1.2 of the cylindrical hollow body 1, as protection against abrasion for insulated electrical lines (not shown in Fig.3d) outside the support body 2.
- a second exemplary embodiment is explained on the basis of the representations according to FIGS Figures 4 and 4a.
- FIG. 1 A modification of the solution according to FIG. 1 is shown in FIG.
- the hollow cylindrical support body 2a is graduated, which with its extended part, which has a larger jacket diameter, rotatable below the union nut 16 inside the jacket is stored inside.
- the extended part which is an axial one embodies the closed area as an axially elongated partial component 2.1a (of the support body 2a) viewed, followed by an axially (elongated) slotted area. Both areas are in one piece trained and stored coaxially and rotatably below the inner surface of the nut 16.
- the closed area of the inner surface of the subcomponent 2.1a of the Support body 2a is as axially closed zone 2.1a and the axially slotted area is as axial slotted zone 2.2a defined.
- the union nut 16 is the extended part of the support body 2a to close to the gradation rotatable on.
- the design can be seen from FIG of the slotted area 2.2a of the support body 2a with the electrical contact spring formed along its radial circumference, which itself holds the pressure load on the inner surface of the union nut 16 exercise.
